such an odd place for the heirloom vendor. I guess Blizz figured that everyone would notice him near the flightpath since there's no flying between zones... forgetting the popularity of engineering portals and the fact that most people will afk or tab out on long flightpaths

All of the items that sell for gold, you can buy on any character. Not just ones that have 80 renown.

Edit: To clarify, once you have a character with 声名显赫 any other character with access to Oribos can buy them.

You can buy 旅行者的心能宝箱 from him faster with a macro :

/run BuyMerchantItem(1)

And you don't have to confirm each purchase.

It seems they didn't even bother adding a replacement slot machine valor chest for Season 4.
I could have sworn I saw one but I guess not.
