This guy hits like a truck if you haven't gotten any gear from dungeons yet. It's doable, if just barely for squishy classes.

Biggest thing to not is avoid the charge attack and interrupt the rats whenever you can.

I did this as a frost mage with 149 ilvl. It took me 2 tries and I bought a few things from the vendor just before the boss. I recommend taking a healing pot, and popping every cooldown as much as you can.

He does 3 main abilities, summons rats which barely do anything.

He throws a rat trap at you which roots you and does some damage. It is easy to move (or blink) away from the trap before it goes off.

The worst ability is his charge. I couldn't interrupt it and when I was hit buy it it took half my health. This was pretty easy to avoid if you pay attention, a few steps to either side avoided it.

It is soloable, you just need to pay attention.

Avoid his rat trap that he throws at you and move out of the way of his charge. He does very little damage besides these two avoidable moves. Keep moving and he will be an easy kill. I did it as a Arms Warrior with no dungeon gear.

I one shot it just now if you have the option Stigidium(epic) take it!

Your Stewart will heal you in combat; stun, run, heal, win! fresh 160 at ilvl 138. No idea how to do this without that yet, good luck!

Seems it's a big crap shoot or a matter of knowing beforehand that the last boss will be the first one on the level. As a Havok DH even if I avoid all his charges and traps his normal hits kill me before he gets to 50% health. Using potions, covenant abilities, and getting all I could from the vendor. It was a breeze up until this jerk.

I actually think it's a cool concept but this whole thing needs rebalancing. Torghast itself was way too easy and this mf-er is extremely hard to beat as you just take too much damage on more squishy classes.

Not a single scratch on me! Frost DK 145, but irrelevant. Keep him at a distance with chains of ice at all times and damage him with Death and Decay, Howling Blast, whatever you can throw at him:P Sidestep whenever you see the incoming rat trap, and/or the charge. It took 3-4mins and like I said, not a single scratch!

No one has said so far, for people not yet familiar and need for campaign quest, this guy is on the 6th floor. Takes a bit to get to him if you're not geared.

Wiped on this a few times as a 146 Arms Warrior. Consistently dodged the charges and traps.

Once I started interrupting his Rats! ability, there was no issue.Its cooldown fits within the Pummel cooldown. (15 seconds)

Fresh 60 Arms War, just line him up so when he charges away you create some space, heroic leap to keep the distance. He's hella slow and you can regen with Second Wind to full each time.

As a hunter this guy is easy to kite.

Having a frost chimera pet will make things a lot easier.

Keep an eye on your pet's health and keep mending them.

Throw your tar trap, then have your chimera keep spamming Frost Breath and Froststorm Breath to slow him down, avoid the traps he throws, then just keep flanking and blasting DPS.

i have read comments that say they grouped for this. i just tried for 10 minutes with a random to group it and we had no luck figuring it out. could someone give me some insight into this? just like everyone (it seems) said, super easy dungeon until you get to this piece of garbage.

iLevel 141 Assassination Rogue

I had wall hugger for speed, Fleshcraft.

Just timed stuns, ruptures, ranged spam and dodged as much as possible, 2nd try was the win.

I killed him on second death as a 144 arcane mage. I know I'm squishy, so I pick every single survivability item when given the option: blink CD reductions, light bug shield, blast cast time reduction, additional shield if you interrupt; in this case, it served me very well. I got him down to 20% the first time and died. Second attempt was easier with less nerves. Also, slow TOTALLY works on the guy. I'd slow him and blink away. Hammered him while he cast his charge since he stood still and I knew which way he ran due to his positioning.

Only problem? I picked the Mad Wizard buff early on. It's great, but my UI addon wouldn't let me see the buff for some reason. So my arcane explosion kept stunning me. Had to do the fight without it, which was fine, but it's nice to generate charges on the move.

Doing this on Havoc DH? Impossible. Vengeance? Very smooth and easy.

As a muti rogue this is the cheesiest fight I've done in a while.
Add crippling poison to your daggers then just run around in circles kiting him with your throwing Poisoned Knife, avoiding his charge.
Occasionally stun and put bleeds on him to speed it up a bit if you want but you'll take him down eventually.

On top of everything else, if you die more than 3 X the Jailer (or whatever this hulking thing is) comes for you. He's faster than you and he will one-shot you. This is super frustrating for low i-level toons of any class.

As a BM Hunter at ilvl 145 this was stupid easy. First try. No health lost at all. just watch his charge and don't step in rat traps. Heal your pets. Easy peasy.

First time through as an Arms Warrior, didn't know what I was doing, died four times and got et by the the big bad. Eventually decided to try again after reading stuff (avoid charges, interrupt rats, etc.) and got really lucky with the anima powers - got like 40 souls (+40% strength) and a one-shot-per-floor item that boosted Shattering Throw by 10,000%... that thing damn near one-shotted the bastard. So, from annoyingly difficult to annoyingly simple... seems like Torghast is heavily weighted on luck.

Its just so frustrating to be causing along and the suddenly hit something you can't beat. I'm not sure Blizzard isn't totally out of touch with the players

I just beat this guy tonight. Died first time, but then drew him into the downstair's hallway where he couldn't charge and with a Vengeance Demon Hunter, continuing to Fracture and Soul Cleave for constant soul fragments getting gathered and even if not, the hallway is so narrow, they are right next to me when I need them. I just kept pulling fragments off, spinning him in a circle and healing until I sliced him bit by bit and I had 1% when I killed him. Vengeance DH, item level 141.

I did terrible on my first attempt, then sailed through on my second attempt, Arcane Mage, average gear.

Tips and Tricks:

Take. Your. Time. Grab every single spirit, bust every single jar, kill every single mob. Do your best to not get overrun. Look down every corridor and deadend for useful goodies.
Be thoughtful about your Anima Power choices. The warden hits really hard, so I focused on survivability items first, damage second.
Spend your Phantasma carefully. I picked new Anima Powers first, as long as they gave survivability or damage. Just before the boss I bought another anima orb.

I still popped every cooldown during the fight, but I ended up at nearly full health and with a ton of mana leftover.

As of last Tuesday, December, 15, 2020 Blizz must have nerfed this. It was darn near impossible to complete this on my other Shadow Priest, This Shadow Priest had zero problems with him, I did have anima power Orb of Replenishment that awarded 3 orbs nearby when I attacked a boss for the first time. I had two of them so it gave me a 50% heal of my max health. I only had to use it once when my health got down to 50%.

Other than that, I think the anima powers that helped the most was Gnarled Key which granted Door of Shadows reduction of cast time to instant (after using it 10 times prior), Murmuring Shawl which granted an increased chance to dodge by 40% after using Door of Shadows, Mask of Withering which weakens all enemies I pass though increasing their damage taken by 20% for 30 sec.

Although, what I think helped the most was the nerf Blizz did on the 15th to try and balance Torghast's final bosses with the rest of the floors.

Level 60 frost mage here. As someone has already mentioned - I believe they nerfed this big guy. I geared up with all I had, prepared the exact order of my first moves in the battle and was still scared sh!tless after reading all the comments here, especially since I'm one of the squishy classes. But I managed to take him down before he even took half of my health. I was honestly baffled, the whole battle took me less than a minute, I think.

To other frost mages out there: I believe Time Warp combined with Icy Veins and luring him into the Ring of Frost were crucial for this one. Get your haste as high as you can and do all the damage you can before he even strikes. Also, I was lucky enough to get an anima power that enables your Mirror Image spawns to act more intelligent and use more spells, so go for that one when you have a chance. I found it to be quite powerful.

dunno if they patched him, but he was an easy solo on a 149 windwalker monk. popped invoke Xuen, Karma, Serenity, fort. brew and berserking (troll ftw) and as soon as it lit up, touch of death. followed what others said, fought against the wall, and he didn't really charge at all. did my usual rotation of tiger palm, blackout, and rising sun when it popped. I had decent perks on the way so maybe that helped?

Impossible to do this guy as a Blood Knight 148. I thought they nerfed this guy a while back. I don't remember it being this hard. I gave up.

Well, Arcane Mage ilvl 151. By the time I got to him I had 10 extra mirror images, but unfortunately no Handmirror. Also had the power that does 500% on Arcane Blast if cast from invisibility. Never saw it dent him.. Failed three times. Counterspell doesn't interrupt Rats! and he tore me apart.

Lvl 60 Arcane Mage. What worked for me was to keep moving as someone else had mentioned. My Fire Blast would knock him into the air and then I could get off most of an Arcane Missiles shot. I had the jump buff where you are able to leap forward when you jump. So I would run/jump two or three or four times to create separation, then hit with Fire Blast and an Arcane Missile barrage and then repeat. It took about 5 minutes to kill it.

I am a Demonology Warlock. I can't move and shoot -- I need to be stationary to work. Totally screwed. Stored up all my heals possible and still can't beat this A-HOLE.
Any suggestions?
Everybody seems to be a mage -- good for you. A boss that is impossible for one class SUCKS.

Did today on an undergeared, newly L60 Havoc Demon Hunter. Think Blizz might have made this easier, though the tower adds I chose made for awsome damage, self healing and stamina, still, with only an iLevel about 120, thought I wouldn't last even the first few level - completed without dying at all, YAY!
