They cast Bone Armor that mages should spellsteal, absorbs 50k damage!

Specifically, mages have used this buff to tank Instructor Razuvious. A cavalier was offtanked off to one side, the mage spellstole the Armor as much as possible. He had MDs and TotT on every CD, plus things like Devo/Santuary, and Demo Shout/TC up on the boss.

The Understudy adds were offtanked.

You can no longer spellsteal it.

A priest can dispel bone armor from these guys. It can make the whole pull much easier, and saves a great deal of time.

It's best for Priests to Mass Dispell when encountering these mobs.
That way you dispell two bone armors (they usually come in groups of two) and you dispell dozens of Strangulates and Icy Touches all at the same time.

Pretty much useless info, but for the sake of history and those curious, here is the pre-BC info...

These guys used Baron Rivendare's model and traveled in packs of two, and sometimes in packs of three (2 Cavaliers, plus 1 Deathlord). Their abilities included...

Cleave - Standard cleave attack
Aura of Agony - An aura that ticked for 120 damage every two seconds, this would stack with the other cavalier, and also the more dangerous Deahtlord's aura's.
Death Coil - Same as the warlock spell, hit for about 920 and the fear lasted 3 seconds, healed them for the amount of damage dealt (Might possibly be multiplied by damage dealt healing for more, but I do not remember).

Did this today in a group of four. If you, like us have problems with their boneshield, the way we did it was for our mage to spellsteal one marked Cavalier that we all attacked. While this doesn't give the Mage the bone shield buff, it does remove it from the Cavalier, allowing us to kill it.

As a warlock I pulled out my fel hunter and put up dots and channeled immo aura and drain life, occasionally spamming shadow bolt to try get in a bit of damage between dispells, they recast almost instantly, was pretty annoying since the dispell cd is so long.

I found a way to dispel their bone shield as a death knight, what you need to have is glyph of icy touch so that when they pop their shields up icy touch will remove one beneficial magic effect off the target which is what bone shield is classed as. Up vote if this helps! :D

I found a way to kill them with a destruction warlock (Naxx 25m version):
- Use Observer as a pet and deactivate the autocast of Clone Magic.
- Send your pet to Death Knight Cavalier
- Start casting Chaos Bolt and about 1sec before the cast is done, hit the Clone Magic button
=> Clone Magic removes the Bone Armor buff and let your Choas Bolt hit the enemy
- The Death Knight Cavalier will recast the Bone Armor, you wait 15 sec for Clone Magic cooldown and repeat.

Repeat as many times as necessary :-) In my case (ilvl 499) I needed two casts to kill the mob.

As a Retribution paladin with no way to dispel the Bone Armor, I found it possible to save 5 Holy Power + a Divine Purpose proc whenever I could and spam Templar's Verdict while hoping to get more DP procs.

With several TVs in quick succession, the shield was usually removed and I could damage them for a huge percentage of their health before they reapplied it. Usually 2-3 attempts is all it took to kill them .

Edit: Also, they do not always have it active before you engage them and may take a few seconds to cast if for the first time. If you are fast enough, you can kill them before they get to use it.

It's possible to skip these enemies entirely. As a paladin, this was pretty important for me.

I first had to clear Razuvious, then go into Gothik with two Cavaliers on me. Then, I gathered all the enemies along the path from Gothik to the Horsemen, killed everything except the dozen-or-so Cavaliers, and then let them kill me.

After that, I went through the Arachnid Quarter (and I probably would have saved a fair bit of time to just go through the Plague Quarter), then made my way to the outer ring just before the final boss. I circled my way to the end of the ring in the Arachnid Quarter, then dived into the slime, emerging in the Plague Quarter. I went to the end of the ring in the Plague Quarter, dived into the slime, and emerged in the Military Quarter. The first two Cavaliers from there can be skipped by waiting on the side of the ramp, as close to the wall as possible. The next two can be skipped by waiting until they walk far enough into the room next to the Horsemen, then turning the corner behind them and entering the Horsemen's room yourself.

tl;dr: the Cavaliers on the final approach between Gothik and the Horsemen can be walked around at 90, and you can get there by swimming in the slime between the outer ring of the Plague and Military quarters.

If you are a tank soloing at 90 in 25N, this will be a problem. There are two of these patrolling a small corridor just before Gothik the Harvester, and they cant be avoided. You cant stunlock, you cant nuke em, and you cant have them with you at the fight against the horsemen.

This is what you do; set the raid to 10N. Bring these two with you to the Gothik fight, kill him, and then wipe / run out. Switch to 25N, run back in, and all trash before the horsemen will be gone.

The only hard part of this is if you have a rather low ilvl (like me; 502) at the Gothik fight. Be sure to bring a pot or something if you should make a mistake.

EDIT: Naturally, if you are farming all of the bosses on 25N/10N, you will have to choose each week which mode you want to kill each boss in. But when you think about it, it really makes no difference, since the lockout for a boss in 10N will cause the boss to be considered killed in 25N aswell.

Ok finally find a way to kill these guys, for most classes ands specs!

You can hit them when the bone armor finish, there is 0,5 sec before the death knight cavalier cast another bone armor

In this 0,5 sec i was casting my most powerful chit, trying to hit my best spell +1 more spell if possible

So after several minutes you can kill some cavaliers, they don't do a lot of damage, I am level 90 item level 488.

But as a pally I can heal myself, not sure you could kill them if I were a warrior

Good for the class that cant remove their bone armor
