He throws out 'flash bomb' which is a fear (I believe for beasts only). I was in bear form and got feared into some dinosaurs and died, otherwise he's totally soloable at 58 as well. Just a word of warning.

I beleive he has a fire cone attack aswell. In my opinion its worthwhile heading to this bosss after you've done princess as he has got nice drops, especially the shield, which is really good for shamans.

Most of his attacks are fire-based, so it's recommended that, if you have a Shaman or Paladin along, they drop Fire Resistance Totem or put on Fire Resistance Aura, respectively. I do not believe they stack, so if you have both classes, only one need do it.

Hunter's should just keep their pets at their side. Everytime I would send mine he would Flash Bomb fear it right into the neigboring dinos.

Although I'm not sure what caused it or why it happened, while my decently geared level 60 friend was trying to solo this boss, Gizlock gained 50% of his HP back from some kind of glitch and my friend died because of this. I think it was because my friend may have stepped on an area where the goblin couldnt reach him for some reason or another, and caused him to regenerate. Anyway, just try to maneuver around the boss as little as possible.

Apparently, he is impossible to tank as a bear. I got feared by his Flash Bomb attack four times over the course of the fight - each time for a full 9 seconds.

Is there any way to combat this?

EDIT: Tried again, if you are aware of the fear, you can just pull him really far, keep your distance as much as possible, and avoid most of the fears while the rest of your party burns him down.

As a Hunter you might want to watch out for the flash bomb, my pet was running around aimlessly, pulling in extra mobs and stuff.
Not such a terrible happening, since most tanks and healers can get around some extra mobs, but if you happen to run into a tank that's incapable of picking up extra adds, mind that you'll be accused of ninja-pulling, having your pet on aggresive -even though that doesn't even exist anymore- or being a huntard, and ultimately leading to a vote-kick ^^
