Ok, so I agree with you on the epic battle points, but I haven't the time nor the patients to be in a 3 hour Alterac ever again. I mean sure, when that's all that there was it was fun, but why go back to White Castle when you've been to T.G.I Friday's?

I believe this NPC, and his counterpart Ivus the Forest Lord, used to drop blue items. This was taken out.

9/10 times lok is a "no-show"

everyone present (afaik 10 people required) had at least an honored or higher reputation with every horde faction (pre-bc, and some say this is required, some don't, i've never seen any official response to this)

the times i've even seem him show, are the times i was almost certain he wouldn't (e.g. primalist dead, or aggro'd so far that she's fighting players at snowfall graveyard)

guess what i'm trying to say, since i've reported it, asked everyone i've ran across almost, is that he's 99% bugged and blizzard intends to never do anything about this

it's just sad that in the 51-60 av so many people depend on lok to break the alliance turtle, and end up going /afk when they find out he's bugged.....

It's worth noting that Lokholar becomes more powerful with each player he kills.

Does anybody remember name of ring that drops from him? It was blue BOP ring that gives +10 stamina +10 int and increase spell damage by up to 10. I can't remember a name but it was shorly after releasing BWL that i saw it for first time and shortly after that they removed drops from Lokholar and Ivus

We summoned him today in the 51-60 bracket, shame he just wandered around in the middle and didn't help us destroy the alliance who were defending the bridge to Vanndar. Was good to see him though!

It is true that Blue's used to drop of this awsome summoned being, They removed it because people used to ninja the items that dropped of them because as you all know loot is automatically set to Free For All in Alterac Valley. Such a pity some of these items were incredible.

I have summoned him yesterday (30.03.2008) with 9 other horde players, you need to hand in blood from alliance players, he will wonder around middfields for 8 minutes, only after that something will hapen, but luckly people listened and we gave up to SH GY and ally came near him to be eaten, so he grow bigger and stronger.

i am a ally, started AVing RIGHT after 2.3, so ive never seen the epic hour long battls, bu i have seen this dude once. he scared the crap out of me, especially since we tried to summon ivus but the summon thing was bugged. but it wasnt really that dramatic because we won like 2 mins later.

Ahh Lok, at one time he was my favorite part of AV
i rember fondly of a game that lasted from 2:00 am to 6:30 am where we summoned this guy, true he did little at the start but once he got rolling he was nearly unstopable (and the fact that the allys had their riders and both sides had the air forces up made it even better) sure with the new changes to AV games they probbly wont last 40 mins but to all who read this try to summon this guy early on, he is completly worth it. Also if you can try and get the biggest premade possible for you for AV and play it the way it should be done... yeah with the allys rushing you might loose but trust me on this you will have more fun than you ever had winning post 2.4... well i didnt mean to go on like an old man but such is the awe of seeing Lok in action.

I have only ever seen this guy once, and it was amazing. We summoned him, and escorted him over to Vanndar's base. By then, he was so massive that he was one-shotting every alliance player in sight. So we left him outside to watch our butts, and owned Vann.

The days of 2 hour long AV's are over, unfortunately. Blizzard should fix that, or implement long matches into the Strand of the Ancients.

Hm... I'm a 70 mage and didn't realize I was fighting a boss when I soloed this guy... I killed him in around 5 fireballs. (Or 4 forgot sorry) Not sure what he hit me for, I had to blink and iceblock tho... That was the hard part. Is this guy seriously supposed to be a boss? So ^&*!ing easy.

This guy is absolutely amazing! I did a battle (Post BC) where we decided that we were going to summon this bad boy. For some reason the Alliance decided that they were going to summon their Forest Lord guy as well. Both of them finally met at the frozen lake thing in the middle... It was a HUGE disappointment. Lokholar just totally obliterated the Forest Lord... It was not even close. Correct me if Im wrong but it seems that this guy get stronger the more he kills, and the Alliance version doesn't

Never the less this guy is amazing and basically unstoppable after a certain point.

And escort miss tauren summoner to the centrer of bg :)

Lokholar has buffed about 600K hp, his frostbolt hits for 800, he will cast a stun and his melee hits for2000, if he kills a player he gains 75 atk, it stacks 10 times. If you want to use him for winning the bg, you will have to heal him permanently, his 600k hp are not many and he will be killed in a few sek if a raid nuke him, but if you have 5-10 healer, he wont go down and the other players can kill the alliance, because 90% of the alliance players will hit him...maybe because he is soooo big :D

IMO he should be the new pet for frost mages. Well, not him, but a lookalike of him. A talent deep in the frost tree to upgrade the water elemental to an Ice Lord with more armor, health, ability to melee, and more badass spells.

today: 26/4.2011 we fought for 1 hour in Alterac Valley and Lokholar the Ice Lord was summoned, I have not seen him since TBC in '07, so it was quite a sight ..
it was also nice to refresh my memory from the TBC!
and, even tho the summoned ice lorde, the alliance won !

People do not understand just how easy it is to summon this guy, 200 blood is nothing to get if you have even five people on the job, Alliance drop 5-15 (when they drop it, almost always do) my rogue had a nice stack of 100 or so just by looting what he killed, And even if you do not have anyone summoning the icelord (Takes 10 players to do ritual) the summoner herself can smash the alliance lines pretty well! (Edit3: With healing. She does tons of damage but has only 904k health)

Edit: Can have him up in four minutes if you have a premade, Without gimping D or O in any way
Edit2: You can Have him up in TWO minutes in a premade, takes barely 5 in a pug, if people listen

We summoned Lok today in an 85 BG, so he's still doing just fine, took 200 blood and 11 people to summon, 10 didn't trip him so I'm assuming the rep is still required.

The Ice Lord is summoned at the south-western corner of the field of strife, by 指挥官瑟鲁加 after Horde players have turned in 250 联盟士兵的血, one of several turn-in items that drop off of the corpses of slain Alliance players. Thurloga rides out of Frostwolf Keep with her Shaman escorts and takes the road north, travelling at a slow trot to the summoning location just past the Iceblood Garrison.

The summoning ritual requires the assistance of 10 Horde players who must click on the summoning rune that she creates on the ground. This can easily be interrupted by Alliance pulling the Primalist away from the summoning rune or attacking any assisting Horde members so it is helpful to have a few additional support personnel acting as a screen to keep the ritual on track. Controlling the Snowfall Graveyard is also helpful at this point in the process, but allowing the Alliance to re-cap it after the summon is over will prove helpful over the long-run.

The summoning takes about 30 seconds (all 10 members and the Primalist must remain in place, channeling for the entire period). Lok'holar will then appear in the Field of Strife and will grow in size and strength with every Alliance player he kills. Each time he kills an Alliance player he casts 灵魂膨胀, increasing his size by 20%, his speed by 10% and his Melee attack power. This spell is accompanied by a yell, "I DRINK IN YOUR SUFFERING! LET YOUR ESSENCE CONGEAL WITH LOKHOLAR!"

He will loiter around the middle of the Field of Strife until engaged by enemy combatants, so to get the most out of your Frost Lord experience you will need to kite enemy players back into his aggro radius.

The biggest challenge to summoning Lok'holar in post-Classic is making sure to wipe the Alliance offense inside Frostwolf Keep, re-capping the Southern graveyards, and convincing your teammates to give up their habit of racing for a 6 Minute PvE victory condition in order to defend, collect blood, turn it in and then funnel Alliance into the Field of Strife.

Lol i had never even heard of this guy and i've been playing for 5 years, until today we summoned him and he is awesome, although he only stays in the field of strife which sucks, and we ended up losing because people were so distracted with his awesomeness that they forgot about our towers and we lost.. our team couldn't figure out how to control him though

In dozens of encounters, I' never seen this elite. Saw this elite last night in a random BG. The horde basically farmed alliance for about 1 hour. It was a systematic culling. Icelord appeared after about 10 minutes of play and scared the heck out of all of us. The happy hour started when we went to kill the first horde elite. All of the hordies showed up and stopped us. They then created a bottle neck that stopped us from going South. Shortly thereafter Icelord appeared and caused much confusion in our ranks. We eventually broke through to the South in a counterattack, but hordies suppressed that easily. Thereafter Icelord moved North and systematically dismantled us. We just plain did not know how to react to Icelord instead of zerging. Its an hour of my life, I'll never get back.

Summoned today (Saturday, December 27, 2014) at 7:37pm on the Bloodlust Battlegroup. Game went on 50 minutes. Allies were permanently pushed back to their side of the bridge. We took off, summoned, and sacrificed a 320 resource lead to make this happen.

Just summoned him in a 100 BG today playing from US-Illidan, first time I've seen him in years so was pretty nostalgic and hilarious to see Alliance just standing still in fear.

After summoning him, he sits in Field of Strife for a bit before moving northward. You'll want to get enemies in his aggro range so he can get kills and thus grow stronger. Unfortunately we lost because our team never capped Snowfall GY - allowing Alliance to just pour in behind us when Lokholar finally pushed North.

That being said, here's some basic tips to use Lokholar to his fullest:

Once summoned, have a group protect him in FoS and get enemies into his aggro
CAP SNOWFALL GY to force Alliance into the bottleneck north Balinda's Fortress (Stonehearth Outpost), which will result in many lolz when Lokh finally moves through that area.
Don't forget to back cap as Alliance will try and trickle south around Snowfall GY

If the Alliance manages to get numbers south of Lokholar, well... he should be powerful enough to allow a section of your northern-bound raid to break off and back cap. Lokholar is not auto-victory so remember to use the strategies above to maximize his use. Have fun!

He is still entirely immune to frost damage which is pretty hilarious to see at this point in the game. Such a vanilla relic.
