Sickly is putting it lightly, they look more undead.

On a lighter note, these are used in a Druid quest to learn how to Cure Poison. You need to find and cure a number of them using a special salve. You never find them when you need them. =/

Tip:
When doing Druild Q cast Entagling Roots to them.. Let it deal damage Once and cast salve to them, U get two itstead of Crued.

I heard from someone that, in a rare drop, they received a "Sickly Gazelle" non-combat pet off of one of these. Exactly what you think it is.

To complete the druid quest you do need 5 gazelles only. As explained above, before you cure the Sickly Gazelle, cast Entangling Roots. Apply the cure right after that and you should see you get 1 cure. When the gazelle dies, you'll have another cure proc.
Here's the fastest way to find all 5:
Exit Crossroad's south entrance and go right (west). Start moving up north until you reach the hill northwest of Crossroads - you should have found at least 2 by then. Go around that hill through the west side and you should arrive at Crossroads from the north entrance with the quest complete. To make it easier to find them, make a macro: /target Sickly
Some of the Sickly Gazelles may be lurking amongst some lions there. Kill one or another if needed.

I hereby confirm that the bug with using Entangling Roots on the Gazelle's right before applying the salve still works. If you're a 80 Druid like me doing this, take caution and stand right beside the animal as you're casting roots, as you're killing the gazelle in just one tick of the dot even with Rank 1 Entangling Roots. Just apply the salve right after the root cast is finished, and you're safe!
