This is what happens at the end of the scenario. The first part of the text came in the wrong order for me, I think this is what it should look like:

Prophet Velen says: IT CANNOT BE!
Prophet Velen says: Heroes we mustn't kill Rakeesh! Stop! Please!
Garona Halforcen says: He's left us no choice, Velen! If we don't destroy the machine this place and every living soul inside will be annihilated!
Prophet Velen says: If you will not spare him then I must stop you!
Garona Halforcen says: What's wrong with the prophet?

Rakeesh dies. Velen approaching him and holding him in his arms.

Prophet Velen says: You asked me if I foresaw this day, child.
Prophet Velen says: I... I did... And until this moment I did not understand.
Prophet Velen says: In a time that is now just a whisper of a memory, I had a son. On the day of his birth, a vision came to me.
Prophet Velen says: In that vision I saw myself weeping as I held a dying eredar in my arms. His skin fel-pocked and battle-scarred.
Prophet Velen says: Like yours...
Prophet Velen says: But I buried that vision after Kil'jaeden took my family from me, and for eons let it be lost in the darkest recesses of my being.
Prophet Velen says: Now, finally, as I hold you in my arms, I understand.
Prophet Velen says: There is nothing left here for you, champion.
Prophet Velen says: Take Light's Heart and return to Khadgar. Tell him... Tell him that the Light died here this day.
Prophet Velen says: Farewell.

After using the beacon to return to Dalaran there is another short scene. The Light's Chosen walk up the stairs.

Divinius says: We came as soon as we were able! Thank the Light that you are safe, prophet!
Prophet Velen says: I am neither prophet nor pawn. Not any longer.
Prophet Velen says: Did Romuul survive?
Divinius says: Grand Artificer Romuul yet lives, sir!
Prophet Velen says: Good. Find Romuul. Tell him to begin repairs on the vessel. We are going home.

This fight is super easy if you know how to do it:

1. Tag mob to start fight but then immediately stop attacking.
2. Allow your party members to get aggro
3. Watch your aggro carefully; never get above 90%
4. Eventually, Velen grabs all the aggro and it's basically Velen tanking the entire fight.
5. When Velen tells you to stop attacking because , focus boss, pop all CDs, and burn him.

Should be able to finish in one attempt!

tag the big guy, then only auto attack the target.
your gonna want to press all your keys and max your DPS meter, but that is a fail.
once target is 20% valen attacks you, just auto attack him and let the adds battle each other.
Dont stand in green stuff.

Total battle time 3 mins.

attempts to figure out how to beat this, about 3 million.

If you start to use the item to TP back to Dal and cancel it you get a little bonus dialogue

If you are a hunter, DO NOT FEIGN DEATH. Even when Velan asks you to stop. It restarts the whole damn thing, no matter who has the aggro when you do it.

Even having read the lore behind Archimonde, Kiljaeden and Velen over a year ago and understanding who Rakeesh really was I didn't see this coming. There' also hidden dialogue at the end of the fight if you cancel your hearthstone.

I could not help but see a strange Biblical parallel to one of Rakeesh's lines.

In my master's house smolder the burning husks of a thousand worlds. I am here now to prepare a place for you amidst the ruin of tomorrow.

Not so sure which writer it was that wrote Rakeesh's dialogue, but below was the verse that sort of poked at me when I was doing some reading the other day.

John 14:2 (NIV)
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

Just a strange parallel I found since the way Rakeesh spoke sounded like prophecies of his own. Perhaps as a mocking manner as he faces Velen?

I was utterly confused as to what I was supposed to do when Velen yelled 'STOP!' - first time I did the sensible thing, he'd gone red on me, I ran! Reset.

Second time, it was 'Well, I can't kill the Prophet, so I must have to die now.' And I held still and did... and Reset.

That's when I came here.

This fight can get pretty confusing. Suffice it to say that you must keep your focus on the Fel Annhilator when Velen tells you to STOP and then begins attacking you. Just keep attacking the original boss (ignoring Velen's attacks, which are minimal) and stay out of the green stuff.

Begin the Khadgar's Beacon channeling then walk to stop it, there's a small scene after that you won't see if you port back to Khadgar!

"After the fight, Velen has a brief monologue which explains this. When you win, it's important to fire the item that starts your port to Dalaran -then cancel the port and listen to the small event that happens."

I just love how this guy acts at the point when Velen heals up O'ros, with hands in the air and all. Can't help but agree with him when he says "For a prophet, you're doing a very poor job of making predictions"

Is his gear (shoulders and pants mostly) available? I looked in the outfit and it just had a pair of gloves and two wrists?

EDIT: Took me less than 5 minutes after posting to realize the shoulders are a reward from the quest...but what about the pants?

Seriously? this is a BS scenario.. I have a tricked out priest, and I can't survive with both of them attacking my arse. Six times? My frustration level is very high, and starting over each time... screw that. If there was any way i could skip this GD joke of a scenario I would. I guess I'm going to have to mindlessly grind my arse to get another level higher somehow then try again. Egad... if you guys are doing this in one shot, good for you. Not everyone can. DAMN!

Something I never realized before, what does he mean "we're going home"? Azeroth is their home now. Argus belongs to the Legion and Outland/Dreanor is torn apart, unless they somehow mean the alternate Dreanor, which makes no sense because technically the Exodar and the Draenei shouldn't exist on Azeroth since Dreanor was never destroyed and the Exodar would have had no reason to leave. I don't understand.

You have to complete it all in one go or it resets. I had a power out just before the final battle and reappeared in Dalaran and when I went through the portal again it started the whole sequence from the beginning? GRRRRR#######!

I know I'm posting this way late in the expansion, but, better late than never.

I just did this fight on my warlock and made a discovery. If you pull with your pet but don't attack Rakeesh yourself immediately, the fight will reset. Cast something at him as you send in your voidwalker (or other minion) and you'll be fine.

This may not seem like great advice, however, there will probably be a few people having this happen to them, wondering if the scenario is bugged. I'm here to assure you that it works. :)

This scenario is a massive pain. If you lag at the end, you will not receive credit for killing Rakeesh, and seemingly the only choice is to leave the scenario group and re-do the entire thing. Very annoying.

The final confrontation has changed a bit from what it originally was. I just did it on an alt and Velen no longer becomes emotional and enraged during the fight any longer. Previously he would find out it was his son during the fight and try to get the player to stop killing his son. Now he fights until the end and only reveals that it's his son after Rakeesh has died. It was much more heart-gripping before but I suppose it was confusing for people when they were being told to stop.
