What is that lootablee armor thing next to him? is it a blacksmithig quest?

I haven't been there and *not* seen him any time since BC. He's still flagged as rare there, but I suspect he is no longer rare.

Goraluk is classed as a Rare Elite but he seems to have no problem at spawning. He have spawned all the times i've been to BRS (both TBC and pre-TBC).

Edit: I may add; I went alot to UBRS during the ''pre-TBC era'', was my favorite instance back then and he spawned all the times then too.

He spawns for sure in Dragonspire Hall (in Blackrock Spire/Hall of Blackhand).
When you enter the instance, you'll see two sets of stairs. Take the left stairs and turn left. There's a closed door there. I've been hunting for him myself, so I was happy to finally find him. I wasn't sure he was inside, until I did a "/target Goraluk" - sure enough, he's in there. However, I'm unsure how to get the door open at the moment. I will figure it out and update :)

Ok... let me explain Blackrock Spire right fast for the people having difficulty finding him. There are 2 different parts of (BRS)... there's Lower Blackrock Spire (LBRS) and Upper Blackrock Spire(UBRS).

Lower blackrock spire has the troll boss, the spider boss, the ogres and wyrmkin.

Upper blackrock spire has anvilcrack, rend, beast and Drak.

You cannot get into UBRS without having the key provided by collecting all 4 gems from LBRS and forging them into the unadorned seal using Emberstrife's firebreath. Once you have the forged seal of ascension (a ring at this point), when you enter BRS, turn left up the steps of the crossing bridge in the main entrance room and you'll find a ramp leading up to a closed door. As you approach, if you have the seal, the fires on each side will ignite and the door to UBRS will open.

If you see dragonkin, you're in the right place. Welcome to UBRS.

I'll see if I can make a more detailed step by step procedure.

Alright, now - while I was fighting I received an Unadorned Seal of Ascension.
After looking it up, it looks like it's the objective of the quest:
Seal of Ascension, given by the NPC Vaelan.
This NPC is found within Blackrock spire.

I'm going to try to describe where Vaelan is, since people seem to have a hard time finding him.

A rogue can solo this without aggro'ing anything.

Enter the instance.

Work your way past the first sets of guards at the top of the ramp and deal with the patrol. On your left will be the UBRS door. On your right will be a broken bridge over a pit where you can fall down to a lower section. Most groups making their way through LBRS take this path to bypass a few groups of mobs that you would have to fight if you took the ramp that leads "below" the UBRS door.

So, once you've dropped down, you have to handle a patrol and then a group of 3 orcs and a dog master with his two best friends.

Crowd control or stealth here makes life a lot easier.

Once you're past these mobs, you go through a small hallway that opens onto a large platform. Again, you'll face 2 groups: One dog master and his pets and a group of 3 orcs.

Here, you can pull the dog master and his pets without the other group of 3 orcs noticing.

Once you're past this group, there is no need to kill anything else if your only objective is to reach Vaelan.

Just past the area where you pulled the dog master group, you'll see that some rock is making a climbable hill on the left side. Groups often use this to get around a group of 3 or 4 orcs that are just ahead.

This rocky hill is actually the path to Vaelan. Climb it and then turn around when you've reched the wall and top of the rocky hill. You'll see a platform with a lone orc raider on it. Walk close, and the orc will mind probe you, and then reveal itself to be Vaelan once you are not deemed a threat.

I just watched one of the videos and followed it with my 80 DK, it works perfectly. Try that out if you can, it's quick and to the point.
You need "]Unadorned Seal of Ascension" in order to get him to give you the quest.
Unadorned Seal drops off various mobs in the instance.

Bloodaxe - Wyrmthalak
Spirestone - Highlord Omokk
Smolderstone - War Master Voone

The gems now have a 100% drop rate as of patch 2.2.0

After you obtain the gems, you can head back to the NPC and turn in the quest. He will then give you the next portion of the quest, which takes place in Dustwallow Marsh.
Seal of Ascension (Part 2)
You will need to follow the quest instructions and use Emberstrife's fire.
Once the dragon is at 10%, use the Orb of Draconic Energy and the Unforged Seal of Ascension. Both are inside the chest-like reward from the previous quest, Vaelan's Gift.

Emberstrife can be found at the coordinates: 56, 87
So, the quickest route would start from Mudsprocket.
Emberstrife's Den entrance is almost directly South of The Wyrmbog on the map, coordinates are 54, 83.
I took the far right tunnel and made it to Emberstrife fairly quickly, though I suppose you could use any of the tunnels.
The dragon is in a large room with low water, she's floating above a round platform.
Be careful if you're doing this at level 80.. I was doing just fine taking my time, but after she got to 10% she died before I was able to use the orb. Sitting and waiting for the respawn now :)
Not too long of a wait, she respawned in 6 mintues.
*Note: Be sure you set down the Unforged Seal of Ascension before you control Emberstrife. Also, be sure you aim the flame of the black dragonflight at the item - there's a 3h cooldown after it's used!

Once you're finished, head back to the NPC and turn in the quest. You will obtain the Seal of Ascension and should now be able to pass through the door. I had to kill all of the mobs in the large room and small rooms in order for the next door to open.

Once I entered the chamber "Hall of Binding" I discovered that I could not attack the mobs in this room. I read up on the area and it seems that you need at least 3 people to use the alter and kill the mini boss and mobs in this room.

This is as far as I've gotten today, I'll have to wait until I'm able to find others to join me for the rest. With my server, that may be a while :)

He doesnt seem all that rare. I boosted some friends in UBRS last night and this guy was there every time. We ran it 5 times.

Drops some very nice loot though. Good for starting out in Outland, though you will probably replace it fairly quick.

When standing just outside the rookery, I saw in my chat log him do an emote.
"Goraluk Anvilcrack wipes his brow."

To open the closed door leading to Goraluk kill all the mobs in the cells in the room. The door will open when all the mobs are dead, it does not require a key.

o.k.....i found this elusive npc by going through the rookery, up the ramp on the right side of the room ,that is..once you get to the top, take a right andthen an immediate left.. you will be in the "hall of the black hand"..he is near...I did a quick "/target goraluk" and he was inside the room you are outside of on the right hand side tooling away making his wares..there is also a treasure chest near him to loot...now if your like me and only came here for the BS patterns he sometimes drops, and followed my thread to him only to end up empty handed, simply retrace your steps back to the instance..leave the dungeon, reset the instance and game on again...i did this for awhile till i got what i came for...I may add that i did this with a lvl. 85 ret. paladin so nothing here could stop him...I think any lvl. 70 or better toon could get to goraluk solo as you only have the 1 elemental boss to kill before you get to the rookery..If you r gonna try this solo and are lvl. 70ish, give or take a lvl. or 2....DO NOT screw around in the rookery...head right up the ramp once you r inside..its streight ahead of you...gl and hope u like this info...
