. It remains to be seen whether this is a one-time gift, however; it may be the case that this extra gift is only sent once.
Love is in the Air is returning for the 2024 holiday, and with it comes new updates. Between new pets, cosmetics, mounts, and more, there's plenty for even holiday veterans to sink their teeth into this year - including new achievements.

One new achievement, however, is a bit different than anything we've seen before:

involves donating to the Artisan's Consortium in support of the Gala of Gifts, a new mechanic to this year's Love is in the Air.
Players interested in earning this achievement will need to donate gold to representatives of the Artisan's Consortium (

at (/way 32 49.7) outside Stormwind for Alliance, and
托尔甘多·羽蹄
at (/way 42.2 18.1) outside Orgrimmar for Horde). Players can choose between donating , , or at once, but can only donate once per day. Choosing the option over the course of seven days will net the achievement, and the 10 achievement points that come with it.
Normally, players who prefer to slowly farm gold over several days or weeks have time to do so; however, due to this being a holiday-related achievement, players have a much more limited timeframe to earn

before Love is in the Air ends. In 2024, Love is in the Air is active from February 5th to February 19th, meaning that players must have donated the within that short window before they lose their opportunity for another year.
Blizzard is no stranger to introducing gold sinks to World of Warcraft, including
recently bringing a new Gold Sink Vendor
to the Black Market Auction House. However, this may be the first time a gold sink has been introduced that provides nothing tangible in return.
While players have become accustomed to earning Feats of Strength or even normal achievements in the course of spending a dragon's hoard worth of gold (

anyone?), players have always earned
something
in return for parting with their hard-earned coins - whether that be a pet, a mount, or even a title. With the introduction of

, however, we see something new: the only reward for returning gold to the Twisting Nether this time is 10 achievement points.
