Bought one of these in trade channel for my priest for only 12g, best purchase i ever made - best healing for any offhand until Emperor's scepter in BRD at 55, this'll last you a while.

Combine this with Hand of Righteousness out of SM = uber healing, it'll last you into your 50s

With my druid, I buyed this from AH for only 5g, that's a good deal :)
Oh well, if you think it's not cheap, you'll find it in Uldaman, as an random drop.

A somewhat "cheaper" version of this lantern would be the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6341 from SFK. It's not a healing off-hand, but looks exactly the same. For roleplayers looking into having a lantern as a source of light I suggest getting http://www.wowhead.com/?item=1172 a quest reward available to both factions.

As of patch 4.0.3 this item was changed to increase intellect and critical strike rating,
compared to before the patch it increased spirit and spell power. It seems to be a more
useful item now.

"Beacon of Hope" after patch 4.0.3:
+9 Intellect
Requires Level 35
Item Level 40
Equip: Increases your critical strike rating by 9 (1.24% @ L35).

"Beacon of Hope" before patch 4.0.3:
+4 Spirit
Requires Level 33
Item Level 38
Equip: Increases spell power by 12.

Their are many lanterns like it, but none more aptly named for my Paladin, we even have a spell named after it.

Dropped in Uldaman, by the 2nd Scorpid nest where Annora spawns. Was either a Shrike Bat, a Scorpid, or a Basilisk. I had dragged a bunch of mobs into the corner and burned them down, then found the Lantern in the pile of corpses. 2310h 20 Jan 2019 Windrunner server. Hadn't been updated in a while so figured make a note, it still drops.

So I'm farming Uldaman for money stuff as I'd like to buy some of the BMAH mounts and/or Tier 3. After 28 full clears, this dropped. It doesn't sell particularly well, on my server of Azuremyst, give or take: it sells for 50,000. Nothing huge but still happy I got it to drop.
