If you're a dps class that values secondary stat gems over primary stat gems, because 320 crit/haste/mastery is worth more than 160 int/agi/str, it does not follow that you should use this gem.

These secondary stat Serpent's Eyes don't double the JC bonus when it's in a secondary stat, you just get 160 (per gem) extra of whatever stat gem you're using. It's like if Enchanters could enchant their rings with 160 crit, instead of 160 int.

So, say mastery's worth 1.8 and intellect 3.5 to you, like my Warlock, you should gem mastery normal gems, but you shouldn't use mastery JC gems. Int JC gems are worth 512 more DPS in that scenario. Mastery has to be worth 0.67 the value of intellect to use this gem.

It's important to note, apparently, you can only put TWO of these Unique jewelcrafter's gems in your gear at a time. I tried to put a third and it said "you can only equip two items in the Jeweler's Facet category!

Apparently, 6.0.2 made it so these are no longer Unique Equip (2)

I had to redo all my gems with the stats changes, and decided to see if I could equip more than the 2 I already had. I currently have 9 Precise Serpent's Eyes equipped on one character without any problems. So save yourself a little money and use Serpent's Eyes whenever you can.
