I'd make a Pandaren Warrior to test if this was transmoggable, as items such as Straw Hat prove that certain whites can indeed be 'mogged, but I /shudder at the thought of suffering through the endlessness of the aptly named Wandering Isle again.

Verified that the 玉柄长剑 (same model, white item, quest reward) is not transmoggable. Tried to mog it onto a Short Bastard Sword of the Wolf I had. This was on a lvl 12 Pandaran warrior pretty much fresh from the Wandering Isle.

No dice.

Just tested if this sword and it's look-a-likes can be transmogged, sadly they can not. Here's hoping Blizz adds a new sword with the same model that can be mogged.

Blizz really needs to allow us to Transmogrificate at least white items, why? well, look at all the race starting items added since Cataclysm and now MoP, everything from cloth to mail looks incredibly detailed yet sober and cool. This sword model is a great example.

Can this be mailed to another toon? Even though white items can't be mogged, they still work with the Glyph of the Weaponmaster. Unfortunately, my warrior isn't a Pandaren. :(

Is this no longer obtainable? It seems you used to get this through the Warrior quest The Lesson of the Iron Bough, but now you loot an axe and shield instead.

For those of you wanting this for Transmog in 10.0.5, it's not possible to get. However if you progress further into the story to 神真子的热情 you can get 燃魂之剑 instead. Takes about 10-20 min depending on how fast you are.

This item has been re-added in 10.0.5. You can buy it from 加尔萨克 (Horde) or 格瑞克·考恩 (Alliance).
It is Bind-on-Pickup however so you cannot put it on the Auction House.
