Great belt for warriors.

With the drop on crit-rating on warrior gear with the implentment of rage normalization, warriors don't have much crit-rating on their Tier-gear anymore.

The mastery bonus and the crit-boost make this belt a fine piece for a starting fury-warrior. Socket it with a blue-gem to achieve that nasty Chaotic Metagem!

Actually decent for tanks, reforging the crit to parry or dodge. Mastery is a great stat for prot warriors and paladins at least.

Crit isn't nearly as good for threat as Expertise or Hit though, sadly.

I strongly believe that this is a fine tanking belt until you get better, at least compared to 346 blue ones.

380 sta
1 blue socket (+10str)
90 crit
169 mastery
59 parry/dodge (after reforging crit)

vs

Girdle of the Mountains (JP belt)

1855 armor
225 str
337 sta
1 red socket (+15sta)
150 parry
110 dodge

Lets socket this one with +60sta and Girdle of the Mountains with a Defender's Demonseye (20 parry 30sta)

difference:

+72 armor
+18 str (10 from socket bonus)
+58 sta
+169 mastery
-111 parry
-110 dodge

In the end of the day counting out the miniscule gains like str, crit and armor which will hardly matter you get to choose as your defensive stats:

169 mastery and 58sta and some miniscule threat vs 111 parry and 110 dodge

Pretty tied up overall imo, I guess we can call this one an EHP piece while Girdle of the Mountains an avoidance piece. Personally I'd love this one to have hit or expertise instead of crit, then it would definitely win over 346 pure tanking blues but right now its pretty even I guess.

Edit: This is from a prot warrior's perspective. Don't know how good mastery is for protadins or DKs.

If this belt had NO crit at all, but had 59 Parry or Dodge instead, wouldn't it be close to Best in Slot for pre-raid tanks? Ah, yeah. So reforge it already!

Been reading the back and forth on tank v. dps, and how reforging will make this better for a tank. As a tank with exalted reputation, it certainly fits the bill until something better comes along.

What i came here to discuss though is something that no amount of reforging will fix.

THIS BELT LOOKS EMBARRASSINGLY HORRIBLE.

Don't believe me, view it in 3D and set it to a female tauren. My poor paladin looks pregnant!

They took out mastery from the crafted belt to add the socket. It remains a piece of garbage.

As of 4.0.6 and the changes that made Mastery useful, this seems to be the best epic belt for Fury Warriors outside of anything that raids can offer, anyway.
If they offer anything, I can't remember off-hand.

Best belt for dps by far. Crit and mastery and the prime stats for pallys and warriors...I don't know about Death Knights but I'm sure they would love this belt too.

A lot cheaper than the BS one and better, plus better looking :P

This is a great belt, but it is SO FREAKING UGLY. And it goes OVER your tabard. Children cry when they see it, and so do I.

I don't know whats wrong with some people, I think this belt looks AWESOME. Plus, the mouth subtly opens and closes from your character's idle animation
