I have a Ghost saber as a pet and i would recommend for any class to try and get one of these figurines becuase ghost sabers are a fantastic pet for a hunter but if you cant tame animals get a figurine. Some people might think it isnt worth the effort of finding cat figurines and opening them bacause it might take 30-40 goes before one spawns (took me 3). If you can be stuffed i think it would be a great companion for you.

ok, just got one of these the other day 1st figurine, 1st kill blah blah hate me all you want ;-p my question is, did they change this or is it still a one time use item? asking because it has a 10 minute CD on it. usually one time use items have no CD.

Well just so you all know the drop rate is NOT 57%(unless i am just the unluckiest person in the worl). I opened 28 figurines killed 10-11 cats and last one dropped the Glowing Cat Figurine...so if its 57%...then i blow

For those who are lucky enough to be dwarves, these things show up on treasure tracking. Tried it today as my hunter is high enough to take one, and sure enough, it showed up.

This beast can be tamed once it spawns from picking up the statue. I have had it for a very long time, pre-Burning Crusade, and I have never fed this cat. It remains at full happiness all the time, and also never has full opacity, so it appears transparent all the time.

I'm happy to report the item is still available post-Cataclysm. It took me 16 tries to find it, but eventually the Ghost Saber appeared. Wish I'd thought about what level the cat was before I tried to tame it, though, since it was too high a level for my hunter. Here's hoping it takes less than 16 next time.

April 28th, 2011. I believe this item is not there in game or no longer required to summon the ghost saber.

I looked for around 17 minutes and gathered 8 cat figurines contained in Cat Figurine (container).

On looting the 8th cat figurine container and the cat figurine within, the Ghost Saber automatically spawned and started attacking me. Being a lvl 85 hunter, it was easy to tame.

Either I'm lucky or they upped the spawn rate on those Ghost Sabers because I got a Ghost saber 4 times in a row and looted this Figurine on the 2nd.

The item lists a 10 minute CD, but that is misleading since the item vanished after I used it. Which means saying it has 1 charge is accurate.

Then again, it could be because it was an item I'd had in my bank since vanilla. I may see if another will drop and try it again to see if the item vanishes or not.

The item is unique, meaning you cannot carry more than one. And has a 10 minute cooldown, meaning once used it is on CD for 10 min (even if it only has one charge and is consumed). That being said, if you have a Glowing Cat Figurine and are fighting the Ghost Saber (who may drop the figurine again), you can use the figurine (*poof* it's gone, and on a 10 min CD). You then kill the ghost saber and find a figurine (yay! you can loot it 'cause the first one went *poof*). However, when you open up your bags to look at your new figurine you will notice that it is affected by the 10 min CD you triggered by using the first figurine.

Also, if you have any of the other items listed on the shared cooldown tab for the Glowing Cat Figurine you will notice that using the figurine will cause other items to go onto CD, and vice versa. Example: You have Ez-Thro Dynamite and Glowing Cat Figurine. If you use the dynamite it will trigger a 1 min CD for the dynamite, and a 10 min CD of the figurine. And using the figurine will trigger a 10 min CD on the figurine (and in this case consume the figurine as well) and trigger the 1 min CD on the dynamite. So Glowing Cat Figurine being unique, having only one charge, and a 10 min CD is really not as odd as it sounds. It's built to keep players from building an army on single-charge guardians.

ONE CHARGE/USE GUARDIAN PET

This is a pretty neat little guardian, but in my opinion definitely not worth the trouble of farming statues to summon Ghost Sabers. It took me 97 statues and 22 Ghost Sabers to get this item. I would not have bothered but I actually contacted a GM asking about the coldown and charges and the GM told me he did not know of a charge limitation. It most DEFINITELY is only one charge, even though the item does not state that in the description.

December 2011; Just tamed this cat on my 85 blood elf. Spawned with the first figurine I found. Rather than attack it to get it's attention (which would have killed it instantly) I just ran through it and tamed. Easy. I left it's name as "Cat", Shrodinger's pet. Fellow geeks will get it :).

I found three Cat Figurines and the cat just spawned on the third and I tamed it right then and there.

It has about 460 health, and it increased my damage by about 8% over the 10 minutes (as a fairly twinked-out f2p druid).

The nifty thing to note is that as soon as you pop it, it stealths; and every time it goes out of combat, it stealths again...so its a pretty good pet for rogues and druids that want to pop it in advance and then get into position.

The draw back of course is the 1hr it took me to farm it (including travel time...and they're unique so its a full 1hr of farming each time you want to get one). Alliance might have it a bit easier, but not much. Alliance doesn't have the travel headaches, but the area where you farm the Figurine is Horde friendly, so they have to keep plowing through mobs while they farm. IMO, its something to keep in your toolkit if you're hoping for an AGM or a very specific BG achievement...but not worth the farming otherwise.

if u search the entire area of Ruins of Mathystra there are rare cat statues hidden around there they tend to be next to and around the Shatterspear laborers, If you right click these you will either get a grey trash cat figurine, Or there is a small chance the npc ghost saber will spawn if he does you can either tame it if you're a hunter (need to be level 20) or you can kill it. if you choose to kill him he has a chance to drop this item which works the same as the Dog Whistle from Scarlet Monestary except it only has 1 charge, meaning it will vanish after the first 10 minutes is up ,

Just incase ur looking for this, someone said it was 2 high for him, this can spawn a lvl 19 or 20 ghost saber, so if ur a twink u may be able 2 get this for a pet as long as ur persistant : )

An item found randomly in and around the Ruins of Mathystra, a misnomer because the small figurine is definitely not glowing. Model in game has a matte white with black stripe coloration, and may possibly proc a Ghost Saber.

I looted 29 of these figurines before my Ghost Saber appeared. Level 20, tamed quickly. Hello Fohgcat.

Patch 5.2

This item is a one time unique item.

This unique item is a loot drop (24%) from the Ghost Saber tamable cat spawned (level 19/20) from various (25 known locations) Cat Figurine object-containers.

It should not be confused with the vendor trash non-unique (grey text) Cat Figurine that is looted when you interact with the Cat Figurine object-container.

It should be obvious that if you looted this item as a hunter; you have failed to successfully tame the Ghost Saber spawn (on that attempt).

run around clicking the tiger statues for a chance to summon the ghost saber who in turn gives a chance to drop the figurine.

1 time use per item
11 statues for me to find my 1st one
3 more statues to find my 2nd

does 64-130 dmg (35 pvp)
does not sealth with my rogue
auto attacks nearby creatures
does not zone into BGs or instances with you if you already have it out(but remains there fighting creatures without you)

I just recently discovered this item from random scrolling on the internet. I played vanilla but never knew about this until literally just the other day. So I went to Darkshore to check it out for myself. I found about 15 figurines the night before but only 1 has spawned a ghost Saber, and it didn't drop the figurine. I tried again the next morning, and the very first figurine looted spawned a ghost Saber and dropped the glowing cat figurine. :)
