Nordrassil was the original life tree of the Night Elves. A sliver of it has appeared in game before, Splinter of Nordrassil, needed for the powerful spell to form Benediction.

It is clear that any item that has a connection to Nordrassil is meant to be displayed as very powerful indeed.

amazing itemisation for a 258 weapon. For marksmen hunters this is definitely superior to Bloodfall and probably Distant Land considering we are all trying to get closer that magical armor pen cap. only serious upgrades after this staff and before you get into 25 hard modes is heroic Hersir's Greatspear and Oathbinder from 25 normal lich king .

Apparently you can get 2 of these at a time. Yesterday our 10man raid got 2xTainted Twig Of Nordrassil from LK, kinda fun. Especially when you have a hunter and a cat druid in the raid :)

Not only is this staff beautifully itemized for feral druids, it's also a very appropriate weapon for them from a lore point of view.

After all, if it weren't for Ysera's blessing of Nordrassil, the druids wouldn't have been able to enter the Emerald Dream. Also, in the case of Night Elf druids, this item is a painful reminder of the fact that the Night Elves will not regain their immortality at least until Nordrassil has completely recovered from the damage it sustained in the Third War..

.. if they ever actually regain their immortality at all.

Sadly, I haven't yet acquired it on my druid, but you can be sure that I want to.. and will. I love this staff.

The stats of this staff changed in patch 4.0.1; the old stats was:

(281.5 damage per second)
+137 agy
+138 stam
yellow slot, red slot, +6 agy bonus
crit +98, arp +90, attack power +216

(wonderful new stats, at least for my bear!)
