Well, here are some spoken truths:

This item is absolutely wonderful... for letting you know who to kick in PuG's.
Crit/mp5 sucks for Paladins. Worst possible stat combination (priorities are haste/mp5 > haste/crit >>>>> crit/mp5 - there is no possible argument otherwise until Cata changes stats/talents around).
The cloth alternative (linked by TheSpectre above) is unquestionably better. Until your HL's are sitting at 1.0 speed (not possible with currently available gear), haste will be > crit or mp5. Mp5 will always be more than twice as useful as crit (again, until Cata at least).

Kick in pugs? Someone who spend 95 EoF on a chestpiece because he just happened to have them laying around?.... Doesn't seem like a smart idea tbh.

Oke, here's the deal. There are not very many options for gear upgrades once you reached a certain point. I myself have over 700 haste from other gear and only have 223 MP5 left after all those nice upgrades. I currently have the Sunforged Breastplate and then this is actually a very nice upgrade. I won't use my EoF on T10 anymore, since it's just a waste of EoF (who worked on the T10 4p set bonus?)... I happen to have 95 EoF laying around and don't mind this upgrade at all.

Yes, the stats are not the best possible, but there just isn't much Haste + MP5 gear laying around (which Blizz obviously did for a reason).

I'm just saying, if it's an upgrade for you, and you don't want any more T10: GO FOR IT! An upgrade is an upgrade, end of discussion.
