Drops in Normal mode of the new 5 man instance, Trial of the Champion.

It's a Sundial of the Exiled with haste instead of critical. The best part is, the buffs they grant are different, and thus they can stack together and both trinkets are usable at the same time.

This has a roughly 20% uptime as elemental and is actually one of the better Elemental trinkets int he game ranking at about #3. It drops off the confessor in the 5-man Trial of the Crusader normal mode.

Wowhead's saying this has a 25% proc rate, is this true? If so this might easily beat out the sundial for mage pvp.

I got this drop the first night ToC was opened and equiped it to check it out (replacing previous trinket took me below hit rating). This thing proc'ed ALL THE TIME for me. That plus the Sundial & Lightweave Embroidery made for some NICE SP bonuses.

I have seen trinkets drop from every boss except the first one so far. most likely will drop off of any and all. I have also seen two different trinkets drop in one run.

The two times I saw it drop it was always off the 2nd boss.

I believe the dps trinkets drop off the second boss only and the tanking/healing trinkets drop off the last boss only.

I have been trying to get this trinket for a while now without success sadly . Despite the fact the second boss drops it and theres like 40% chance for looting it it hasnt been dropped me so far but I cleared it like 20 times so huh?

Please, this isn't Thottbot. While we sympathise with you that you didn't get the trinket, telling us that X didn't drop after Y number of runs though you saw Z drop doesn't really contribute anything. Wowhead also lists the droprate as 7%, no where near the 40% you claim.

This does indeed have a 45 second internal cooldown. Due to the change to equiping trinkets in 3.2, it cannot proc until it's internal cooldown is met. I could not get it to proc any sooner than 45 seconds after I equiped it and it would not proc again for at least 45 seconds. It does go off very soon after the cooldown so the 25% proc chance seems right.

Got this on my ele shaman today. Incredibly good trinket in every way.

It and Dying Curse can proc together off the same cast, which would occur 1 out of 4 procs for me.

This does seem to have a 25% proc rate overall as stated above.

Interestingly for Fire/TTW mages, who are a bit haste starved this comes out as slighly better than Eye of the Broodmother on Rawr. That being said it's not MUCH better and I kind of prefer the passives instead of procs (that can be wasted by fight effects like void zones or phase changes, ect).

If this is similar to the sundial in most respects, then it should proc off of any cast spell, instant or otherwise. I've had the sundial proc off of almost everything I can cast on my ele shammie, including totems, quest item triggers, etc.

I got this on my Holy Paladin on a greed roll during a ToC farm group since we had no one to DE. Afterwards we went to do a few Heroics for some badges and I equipped this for the heck of it. This thing was proccing off of everything: My judgments, Holy Shocks on mobs, Holy Wrath, Exorcism, and even Consecration ticks. Not really a top notch healing trinket, but it was fun to play with nonetheless and could be useful to a Holy Paladin if they really have nothing better and no dps needs it.

I decided to try this on my resto shaman, because i was lacking a bit of haste. It actually procces about once per 50 sec while healing. Havent figured out yet why, maybe it has something to do with my totems? Anyway, i don't care really, the haste is really nice and i get a passive 100sp or something out of it.

should i use http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47213 on a boomkin instead of the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40682? im at 389 haste with 20.59% crit regular form. i have relic for +200crit rating. At what number does crit out dps haste? i think its soft cap is ~400 haste, correct me if im wrong. but which trinket will i see more results from.

For any boomkin out there, i found that neither was really better, its just what you like best. i mean, the haste will ultimately make you go oom a little faster, and crit does help with switching through eclipse procs. the soft haste cap for wrath is ~400 so after that crit/haste is basically worth the same. but hey, with 3.3 comming out in a matter of weeks, we will be replacing old gear fast. I wanted to CONFIRM that Sundial of the Exile and Abyssal Rune procs do indeed stack, and can proc at the same time. Granted, Abyssal is a 25% rate and the Sundial is a 10% proc.

There seems to be a bit of misinformation out there currently. This information is applicable to WoW 3.3. Any updates to WoW will have to be retested for their accuracy.

I tested this simply by spamming a level 1 shadow bolt at a random mob until one would proc. If I could not get the other to proc as well within the 10 second window of the buff I would wait another minute to ensure any internal cooldown was reset. I would then repeat the process until, success, both proced at the same time, my spelldamage went up 1180, and I was one happy warlock who kept my newly purchased Sundial of the Exile.

I haven't gotten it to happen yet, but I look forward to these both procing and throwing up my Curse of Doom.

This is the caster's Darkmoon Card. It's very good, despite the dismal gearscore value. I usually don't have it equipped when getting an invite to a PUG raid, because my gearscore takes a huge hit equipping it. However, once I am in, I switch it out. This trinket is sadly still one of the best for arcane mages, destruction warlocks and shadow priests. The frost badge trinkets are pretty fail in comparison for what you'd be paying for them. You'll be hard pressed to find one better until you can down Rotface in 25 man ICC, who drops Dislodged Foreign Object.

I've personally found that most casters use a spell power stacking trinket like:

Illustration of the Dragon Soul
or
Eye of the Broodmother
or
Muradin's Spyglass

and then go with a trinket like this with either haste (if you're hit capped), or hit/crit with a spell power boost proc.

It's difficult to say which trinket is 'best', since there are many iterations of caster builds and play styles.

The proc can crit for 1180 sp instead of 590. I was testing out with a dummy on my lock and hovered over the buff and saw 1180sp instead of the usual 590.

This seems like odd behavior for a couple of reasons. Damage and healing spells crit, buffs don't. I would expect this to hold true for procs too (lifeward can crit but mongoose cannot). I also wouldn't expect the tooltip to reflect the crit (since talents don't even affect the tooltips for buffs).

Can anyone else confirm this?

Guess I was wrong about that last thing.

However, it should be worth noting that this procs fairly often whenever a Priest uses Holy Nova in a crowd to heal and deal minor damage. It DOES count as a harmful spell when hitting enemies, even if it was initially used as a heal. Considering how easy Holy Nova is to spam and how often it hits mobs, it's really not a bad trinket for Priest healers.

Soft haste cap would be defined as hitting 50% haste (to get the 1 second GCD). In order to achieve this, even assuming a nature's grace proc (which lasts 3 seconds) and 5% from the shaman totem, you'd need 820 haste rating.

This is actually very good for Holy Pallys, because you use judgments and hammers during boss fights to get the haste buff, it can proc off of those as well, giving you a nice spell power buff along with the much needed haste for holy pallys, so ToC is THE place to go or a pally, two trinkets for holy, one for prot and ret!

Beware of the drama this trinket causes...it dropped and I won it (a boomkin), then the pally healer psted me begging for it saying that he needs it more than i did. He took his trinkets off and said he didn't have any trinkets, then begged me for 10 minutes asking for it. I kept saying get another one that is much better for a healer, but he called me a "fu**in fa*got" and left. Second run, it dropped and a ret pally needed it along with the priest healer. The healer nerdraged, and called him a POS then left. Oh how fun...
