the real question is actually, who is stupid enough to deep freeze a target that far away =)
Deep freeze = pvp offensive and defensive spell, as a mage you will want to use it for the shatter combo, but also as a get out of jail card....

I dont really see any point in taking this glyph other than being able to have a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slight advantage later in a fight against another frost mage =)

One can dream.

EDIT: I wrote this back when the glyph just increased the range of the spell. Well, didn't get that, but +20% damage is still better than that. Yay!

Now one of the better glyphs to use in regards to raiding, although it's debatable on taking either this or molten armor as your 3rd glyph. If anyone has done the math on it, I'd love to see it.

in 4.0.1 it is not a good PvE glyph since frost mages only use DF on targets immune to the deep freeze effect.
in 4.0.3 and into cataclysm however, the glyph is changing to become a 20% increase to DF's damage making it a very strong option.

Glyph of Water Elemental: Increases the health of your Water Elemental by X%, and allows it to cast while moving (as seen in MoP Beta)

This also makes your Water Elemental bigger. (edit: Apparently 40% bigger according to the glyph effect?)

When I used this glyph, I got confused like 10 minutes later because I noticed my elemental seemed bigger. Upon removing and re-inscribing the glyph, I discovered that the glyph directly changes its size.

This glyph has some important PvE implications that you should think about before taking.

Without the glyph, when you attack a boss, your elemental will stand in place and cast on it continuously until you tell it to do otherwise, regardless of your movement. If the boss gets more than 45 yards (range of Waterbolt) then the Water Elemental will move closer and continue.

With this glyph, however, the elemental will follow you and cast as long as it can. If you get more than 45 yards away, it will stop casting on the boss (and if there are no targets within 45 yards that you have engaged on, it will stop casting completely).

The above is only true for when you have the elemental on assist mode. If you change it to defensive, it will behave as it usually does, but it will not attack unless something attacks you or if you use /petattack.

This is important on some bosses such as Thok, when you yourself need to sometimes run out of range of the boss, but you want your elemental to continue attacking the boss.
