The first craftable Plate item level 226 DPS boots.

And impressive they are too. No longer are Blizzard in a rush to stack Hit on every bit of Plate.

With a nice socket bonus, these will be an incentive for a blue gem to help your meta gem also.

Will pretty much be on the top of a Warriors shopping list come Ulduar, especially if you didn't have the luck in grabbing Melancholy Sabatons from Malygos.

I think blizzard did a mix-up. Someone should really check into this.

If you compare Battlelord's Plate Boots with Spiked Deathdealers

You can see that the DPS plate boots got 69 strength vs Tanking boots 85 strenght
furthermore DPS plate boots got 126 stamina vs tanking plate boots 103 stamina

If you compare Belt of the Titans with Indestructible Plate Girdle

You can see that the DPS plate belt got 69 strenght vs tanking plate belt got 84 strength
furthermore DPS plate belt got stamina 126 vs tanking plate belt 103 stamina

Looking at all other plate items, tanking items have had more stamina and less strenght (or attack power) than a comparable dps item.

I for one think blizz switched the 2 stats on both the boots and belt.

Newer info in the following posts, please disregard this one.

Taking the current statweights from EJ, these are the current BiS boots for an Unholy DK, even pre-soft cap for hit (8%). Mainly due to the changes to haste making it more valuable than crit when considering pets.

is it just me or does every1 forget about ret pallies?

even with the new changes in the arpen, the EoE heroic boots still suck for a ret pally.
the haste over the arpen, and the 15 str bonus when u gem these babies makes them the BiS boots soo far
i for 1 will be wasting all my monie on these puppies and the belt for my ret pally

The reason the Str is too high on the tank boots and the Stam is too high on the DPS boots is intended because they wanted these to be VERY GOOD but not perfect so that you can get a small stat upgrade in Ulduar 25 even if you are wearing an item of equal ilvl. Blizzard is just being crafty about their stat distributions to make it more challenging to select the perfect piece of gear for your character.

Just tossing in a quick opinion from the perspective of a raiding Arms Warrior. The Str + Stam debacle between this and the tanking boots aside, for Arms, there's no contest: Melancholy Sabatons beat these silly. The 84 Armour Pen. so vastly out-performs any potential gem contributions on these, that it's not worthy of discussion. Fury, who benefit more from the haste and the potentially increased Str (fill in your own gemming options here), might be able to use them, but Arms should just keep farming Maly, if you haven't got the Melancholy already.

Feel free to downrate me if you think I'm a nutcase, but is it me or does the current model of this item not match the rest? I mean, the Spiked Deathdealers have a matching model to the warrior T8 set, Boots of Living Scale to the Hunter T8, Boots of Wintry Endurance to Druid T8, etc.

Shouldn't these match the Death Knight T8, as the DPS plate from the vendors/drops does also?

The easiest item to acquire that could compare to these boots is http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47511 from 5 man ToC heroic.
Assuming you socket both 20 STR gems, you'd get 109 str from the Battlelord's or 106 from the Plated Greaves.
Personal preference or class/spec stat weight will come in play with gem choice, going for socket bonuses or not, and haste versus arp.

One thing is sure for both of them: they're damn ugly.

These boots are best in slot for Retirbution Paladin's only able to do 10-Man Raid Content according to maxdps.

Plated Greaves of Providence from Confessor Paletress are 2nd BiS and a lot easier to obtain rather than paying thousands of Gold for these.

The difference between these boots and the boots off Paletress is negligible.

Ret Priority is

1 - Hit (til capped)
2 - Expertise (til capped)
3 - Str
4 - Crit/Haste
5 - Everything else.

Being Hit and Expertise caps are always max priority. A dodged, parried or missed attack is a DPS loss.
