While I can't speak for other classes, I can give my opinion on these shoulders for a tankadin. Even though Paladin tier gear (7.5 and 8.5) have more avoidance/block respectively, I am really coming to appreciate the strength and hit on these shoulders as DPS in Ulduar gear up and do more and more threat. I prefer these shoulders for a well rounded tanking set.

Also they don't look like someone stuck corn cobs on either side of my head.

very nice for hit set and as i am currently wearing dragon brood legs, they provide the hit i will lose once i upgrade to the saronite legs or the totally retarded pally dress they decided we have to wear now for tier.

For a warrior these are a definite upgrade over your t7.5, especially if your not breaking a set bonus.
