Presumably gotten from Cask of Aged Dalaran Red after the 365 day duration timer expires.

Looking at the spell, it would appear to be a similar item to the Brewfest Pony Keg, although a much more expensive version since the cask of aged dalaran red costs 250g.

If you're going for this, make an event for yourself in a years time when you buy your Cask of Aged Dalaran Red, so you don't forget about it if you stick it in your bank. ^^

guys don't get ur hopes high.. this is a "consumable" item
the brewfest cask is "non-consumable"
it says that on the "quick facts" in the upper right corner.. : /
but who knows..? it might get changed..

It's possible, given its low sell price, you could, if we assume you get it from a cask of aged dalaran red, hand it in to a quest giver searching for a perfect wine for some kind of reward

There is a thread somewhere about an exploit that makes dalaran red "peak" faster.

The person who made the thread used the cask of peaked dalaran red and said it only had 1 use and did nothing special.

However, this was done back in early 2009 so perhaps Blizzard has changed something. I doubt it though. It is likely just an RP item.

Just used mine tonight, and I can confirm that despite the tooltip the cask disappeared after one use. The Glass of Peaked Dalaran Red that you get from it is standard alcohol, no buffs or anything.

Edit: I opened a ticket just to confirm, and was told this was functioning as intended. Of course they always say that don't they. . . .

i got 2 of them and im afraid to use them, this item was created from the aged cask of dalaran red, i hope the normal ones dont turn into peaked too or else i wasted like 400gs lol
also the 30 minute cd isnt refering to the item as reusuable, it refers to it as you can use 1 of these shared cd items every 30 mins, so im assuming i can put out a keg then wait 30 mins to put down another one

Is the keg able to be traded or sold? If so, I'm totally just going to auction mine for 250g. That way someone who actually would want this crap gets to skip a year. Just sat in my bank, it's not like I've technically wasted a year playing WoW just for it to ferment. Well...basically have wasted a year playing WoW though lol

Hi All

Just to offer a different opinion and point out the obvious (which hasnt really been pointed out here)

This item is designed to be used mainly on Roleplaying servers, where this will actually have a serious value and coolness - for instance if you are running your own player-driven inn. THIS is the intention of the item and there fore may seem unnessecary to non RPers.

However there are many RPers (Not one myself) and the blizz designers should also be expected to cater to this demographic in their design of wow. But soz that you guys are so disappointed..

I my self have bought several and are just going to use them to celebrate the guilds first LK kill etc.

Hope this adds a little perspective to the "This suck" side of things

I purchased this item sometime within the first few weeks of the release of WotLK. All of this time I've been saving it for "just the right moment." I didn't know exactly what it would be.

That "right moment" came when, after weeks on The Lich King, we finally got him. I hadn't told anyone about this cask. After the customary screenshot I asked everyone to gather around. I plopped it down and we shared a drink.

As one guildie pointed out, "One year to make, ten seconds to disappear."

The cask lists a 30 minute cooldown - does it no longer get used up when placed? (maybe as of 4.0?) I'm afraid to experiment with mine ;)

To all the people complaining...You know, no one FORCED you to buy this. Why buy without checking Wowhead or Google first? If you knew what it was going to do in a year, and you knew you'd be disappointed, it's your fault for spending the 250g and waiting a year. It's a damn vanity item that Blizzard implemented FOR FUN. It's not an insult to you, it's your fault for purchasing something without checking it first.

This is actually a pretty neat item. Sure it disappears, but it's nice to use it on events. I buy one each expansion and celebrate the expansion every time the next expansion lauch date is near and old times come to an end. It's quite nice to celebrate the times in a major city, or even just with friends. "Here's to another expansion!"

You can only have one of these at a time. If you purchased two or more Cask of Aged Dalaran Red only one will change and the others will stay green with a duration of 0 seconds until you use the other one. same with Bottle of Aged Dalaran Red and Bottle of Peaked Dalaran Red
