This can be a very effective entry-level tanking belt despite its lack of tanking stats. Currently (3.0.3) it has the most stamina of any belt. Combine this with an eternal belt buckle, then socket it with some defense-oriented gems, and you have yourself a great tanking belt.

Working on a budget last night, I picked up the belt for 250g and added a Perfect Solid Chalcedony in the belt buckle, a Perfect Enduring Dark Jade, and a Perfect Defender's Shadow Crystal. With the socket bonus I was able to increase my hitpoints by 1550 over my previous belt, not including and of my Paladin talents. Total cost out the door was about 350g.

Total belt stats are as follows:
1293 armor
86 frost resistance
7 parry rating
7 defense rating
181 stamina

Bottom line, if the price is right and you dont have much raiding in your future, this is a great item.

Latest patch notes state that the mats for all 3 of the Icebane items will be increased. So make these now if you think you're gonna use em!

40 Saronite Bars
10 Eternal Fires
10 Eteranl Waters
4 Frozen Orbs
2 Titanium Bars

This is a great item to have your raiders get for Thorim hard mode. It's good to have everyone have a bit of FrR for the fight, but you don't need to get too crazy with it and this one item should be enough with Frost Resist Aura. Slap on an Eternal Belt Buckle and load all gem slots with +24 stam gems and get a nice stam boost to boot. May also be good for other hard modes where you might need a nice stam boost for better survivability.

These Items for frost resist will be very popular later on(in 3.3), seeing as people looking for shadowmourne will need to go through 4 Frost breaths from sindragosa

Of note, this belt uses the wrong artwork for the set. It actually uses the leather artwork and so resembles 北极束腰.

There is artwork for the proper plate belt in the database, and it matches better (no green on it for one thing). It's used by 塑形腰带, but that's only available from an Alliance quest.

I'm curious how this will be changed with Blizzard saying it wants to get rid of resistances on buffs, gear, etc.

This belt's transmog is NOT shared between your plate wearers. ONLY the character equipping the belt will get the transmog.
