It reduces the cooldown of Astral Recall from 15 minutes to 7.5 minutes.

Edit: The CD reduction has increased, so i had to make changes. And now that the CD is much lower, it can be cool for shamans with enchanting, since they can now go to any city then teleport to Dalaran. Much better if you have more than one client waiting in a specific town/location (it does beat the mages with that - no money spent on reagents).

This is NOT a useless glyph. It helps a lot when running back and forwarth from the major cities to Dalaran, to check the auction house or do trades. Other people have to wait 1 hour for their hearth, and we have a short hearth, 15 minutes. Why WOULDN'T you want to reduce that even further, or as much as possible?

Minor glyphs are used primarily for LEVELING.
They aren't supposed to be OMG leet awesome.

Think about various quests that have you running back and forth between continents and how much TIME is saved by simply recalling back to dalaran and porting to a closer major city.

If you have this glyph in one of your dual specs and use Astral Recall, it will get a 7.5 min CD even if you switch to another spec with different glyphs. If you use Astral Recall in the other spec and then switch to the one with this glyph you will still have a 15 min CD.

TL;DR - this minor glyph is less useful for most shamans than the minor glyphs for reincarnation, water walking, and unending breath.

Along with a 30 minute hearthstone, this allows you to hearth 10 times per hour. Without this glyph you can only hearth 6 times per hour.

Unless you really feel the need to hearth 10 times per hour, this glyph is more useful for letting you finally discard your hearthstone, giving you 8 hearths/hour instead of 6 unglyphed+hearthstone, but forfeiting your ability to hearth more than twice in a 7.5 minute period (which realistically is rarely a problem). In this light, this glyph amounts to a free bag space since you no longer need your hearthstone.

Assuming you're going to carry Ankhs, Fish Oil, and Shiny Fish Scales, the Reincarnation, Water Walking, and Unending Breath glyphs also save you a bag slot, but also save you from farming these reagents, or spending money on ankhs.

For this reason, those 3 glyphs are better at saving bag space than the Astral Recall glyph. Don't bother with this glyph unless you intend to keep your hearthstone and make use of your 10 hearths/hour.

(not to mention that all specs of shaman should really be running with the Water Shield minor glyph as well)

I applyed this glyph to my character right after I had used Astral Recall to get to town, the cooldown of your current Astral Recall will not be affected by this. Just so you know.

all specs of shaman should really be running with the Water Shield minor glyph --Pinochet

The Water Shield minor glyph adds one extra orb to a spell whose charges an Enhancement Shaman specced for raiding will never spend. Any Enhancement Shaman wearing a Water Shield in combat while raiding is doing it wrong...

A raid-specced Enhance Shammie would die of shame if we ever went OOM during combat, and outside of combat having more or less charges is meaningless since they don't do anything unless you're being attacked. One charge or a million charges, it still does the same amount of passive regeneration (100 mp5 at rank 9).

Of course, this is a viable minor glyph choice for an Enhancement PvP spec, just not an Enhancement raiding spec.

Having this spell + glyph combo makes playing any other class somewhat difficult after you've grown used to being able to use your hearth so often.

I love it. For a minor glyph it's absolutely worth it.

Why in the world can't you set this to a different hearth than the hearth stone. Always confused me as to the purpose of being able to hearth to the same place. I don't know anyone that is that full of ADD that they can't plan ahead for 15 min. Back when it was 1 hour I could see the use, but now? They need to MAKE THIS A DIFFERENT HEARTH. Love my shaman just a completely useless spell as stands.

Stack the glyph with the guild perk Hasty Hearth and the cooldown is much shorter.
