This item is named after the Kusanagi no Tsurugi (Grasscutter Sword), a legendary broadsword from ancient Japanese mythology and one of the three Imperial Regalia of Japan. Originally named the Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi (Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven), the blade has the power to control the wind, which will blow in any direction the sword is swung.

It gained the Grasscutter moniker when Yamato Takeru, a legendary prince and warrior, was trapped in a burning grass field by a treacherous warlord. While attempting to cut down the grass and escape the blaze, he discovered its ability to control the wind, and used it to turn the flames back on his enemies.

As soon as i saw the name i thought "legend of Zelda" cause your always cutting grass with your sword than killing things with it, but it seems not the be the case with Suzaku's great history/mythology lesson . Regardless it is a nice sword, i do see it becoming a badge loot item, but i can help but wonder why is it so short lol.

I dislike the 1.60 speed on this. Too slow of an offhand for a combat swords rogue imo. A much better weapon I have noticed is "Hailstorm".

Obviously Hailstorm is better, not just for the .1 speed but much better dps and more stats... apples and oranges.

On a different note, I don't know if I'd take this over the current OH I use (Avool's) based on the speed and lack of hit rating. Whilst the extra attack power would be nice, there are going to be more potency procs with the faster speed, as well as better application of deadly poison. Plus, the Sword of Jin just looks so much cooler. ;D

This could also be a blizz tribute to Okami :)
The entire lore behing the grass cutter sword comes from the same lore that was the basis for the game, a warrior named Susa no o (Susano is one of the main chars in Okami) defeated an 8-headed serpent named Yamata-no-Orochi (Orochi is a boss twice) and from its body drew this sword (by a different name however)(in okami when orochi is defeated he drops a sword) from the monsters corpse, which he gave to the god Amaterasu (The char you play as in Okami) Also when he defeated Orochi, Susa no o married a woman named Kushinada-hime (Kushi is Susano's crush in Okami).

This sword is pretty bad as OH for combat sword rogue, I was week old 80, with naxx 10/25 run behind me, with best faction reputation gear I could find and some drops from naxx. MH Reaper of Dark Souls, OH Fang of Truth.
Thinking if I should invest badges into this sword, I punched all my stats and gear into the EJ spreadsheet, and it showed only ~12 dps upgrade from Fang of Truth, with same enchants. Thats what 1.6 speed does for you.

So I passed.
