I got this libram last night and was pretty excited because it looks very promising. However, it may be the most pointless and useless item ever put in the game.

I did a little testing to see how much damage it functionally added to my consecrate. Without the libram, my consecrate tics were 249-250. When I put on the libram, they jumped up to a whopping 255!

This is hardly a piece of loot worthy of dropping out of a 25 man. Libram of obstruction's block value boosts shield of righteousness damage by 352, which makes this libram a joke among jokes.

This is an updated version of Libram of the Eternal Rest. As noted above, it looks pretty weak compared to the badge libram. However, it does allow you to generate a bit of extra threat on mobs that are not your current target. This may be situationally useful in cases where you want to hold aggro better on a very large amount of mobs. Then again, it's such a tiny amount, it may not make much difference.

Part of the reason why this libram is absolutely awful is because the spell power coefficient for consecration was nerfed. The coefficient used be something like 95.2%, giving about every 8 spell power/damage in increase of 1 dmage per tick. Now it's only 32%. Attack power gives the same coefficient of 32%, but costs much less as far as item budgeting goes. Blizz should've gave the libram an AP increase instead of a spell power increase... <_<

Seriously, though, why don't they just let us Paladins use guns? Blizzard obviously doesn't care about giving us much power from librams. At least nowhere near what Warriors get with their ranged slot. This "epic" libram is a complete joke, and undeserving of its item level. Get it to complete the achievement, and throw it in the recycling bin. Or let it collect dust in the bank until Blizzard decides to buff it.

I only use this little bastard for low level instance grinding. 5-6 dps on 100 mobs is a bit better than 356 extra damage on my SoR.

It's pretty sad that they couldn't think of a better tanking libram for Nax. Stick with the emblem one if you're doing single target damage or if they're meleeing for more than your block value.

I see a gun, I see FREE stats. They get, stamina...extra sockets, defense rating. Its like they have 3 trinkets.
One big argument about not having a gun is grouping, from what i hear a lot....becuase a warrior can have more stam easier. WHO CARES. Once people run with you its not about some extra stam, the healer is going to notice the libram more. Yes, that would be the badge libram :) THIS ONE SUCKS! I waited so long to get it and come to find out, at level 70 my favorite libram http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27917 actualy added more dmg.... Id have to say tho I will take the badge libram over any gun AT THIS POINT. that block rating with talents means a lot more to me than some talents.
So sad this is a 25 man naxx drop. I think the employee who created this libram didnt get the memo about the huge reduction spellpower has on consecration. NOW 141 ADDITIONAL DAMAGE....That's a libram. Pertick......KILLER. Even 141 total would 17.62 a tick, still aint much but if you got 10-15 mobs on ya thats a lot more threat all around.

Got this libram on my Ret, I figured maybe maybe it would be better than the Venture Co. Libram. Completely wrong, and now I realized why nobody else bothered bidding for it. Unless you want Epic and can't wait for Libram of Radiance to drop, I'd completely advise against this as a Ret.

Or for any spec really, as seen in all the other comments here.

Well, I got this libram from naxx25 tonight, and Although not so good, I would say that this still has it's use.

Situation where I would say that this is good when you are clearing some trash heavy areas like slimes in begin of plague, and use consecration to hold slimes on you while DPS AoE nuke slimes down, this helps quite nicely

Other than that, this libram is pretty nice if you solo run older instances and do large pulls at once, so you get DPS there...

Outside of those, this is not best libram out there.

New blue post information regarding patch 3.1:

New items will be added to the Emblem of Valor quartermaster, which are the relic items that are in Naxxramas. Examples of these are Sigil of Awareness, Idol of Awakening, Libram of Resurgence and Totem of Hex.

No word on how many emblems it'll cost or if it'll still be awful, but at least it'll mean we can get our Epic achievement relatively easily.

Patch 3.1 update:

This item (along with other naxx idols, sigils, and librams) can now be purchased at the Emblem of Valor Quartermaster for 25 Emblems of Valor.

With DR now affecting SBV in 3.2 patch, I wouldnt go for Libram of Obstruction nor Libram of Sacred Shield, but Libram of Resurgence, all depending on if you have more or less then 2400SBV ofc.

I think that this libram is pretty usefull, not even for epic as most of you posting here. This is great boots for your aoe. I discovered this on Razorcale. We had 2 pallys and one dk tank. I had better gear than other pally, I knew it, but somehow I was loosing 500 - 800 dps on dwarf phase. So I tried this libram and I changed my mind.

This libram definitely should be in your bags!
