Discounting the fact that these will probably initially be very difficult to obtain, can anyone say 69 twink? As if the Engineering goggles weren't good enough.

Of course even the blue or green gems would be upgrades over present epics for twinking, if not quite as insanely so.

Then again, will anyone want to twink a 69 in the first place?

Bornakk has just confirmed that epic gems will be released in patch 3.2 and will come from prospecting titanium ores, honor vendor and emblem of heroism vendor. The patterns will be bought using Dalaran Jewelcrafter's token.

In 3.2 Dragon Eyes are being buffed. They will give +34 stats instead of 27, but will no longer be prismatic.

this sells for 176g on my server 130-150 uncut . If you are a warrior you need to stack strength , you can put any gem in any slot regardless of color you just wont get the socket bonus . I have 5 of them in my gear total cost 50g cause im an alchimest and i only had to pay to get teh cardinal rubys cut , and another note sathariel is right cardinal rubys can be bought from vendors 10k honor or 100g each , hope that helps , happy raiding =)

This gem is undoubtedly the hottest thing going for raw DPS. I'm stacking as many as I can on my ret pally and every gem added gives a nice boost to DPS. Too bad I have to give up a blue slot for another gem's requirement.

If you're interested in doing some math to see how high a specific strength value is, then use the following:

1x Bold Cardinal Ruby= 42 Attack power

I'm a blood dps DK. As I geared up I started using these. Even though I had better gear and several of these gems, my overall dps was going down! I started adding several Fierce Ametrine and my dps went way back up! Strength is awesome and valuable, but for true dps don't forget your haste! ... cause it's damage per second, not just overall damage!

As of patch 5.4 these now scale with your level, giving only +10 @ lvl 70. Sad sad day for 70 twinks. :(
