The drop rate for these has been nerfed. I'd say it's much closer to 10-15% now.

Well I think, Blizz, re altered the drop rate, I took on a 3 mob groups and got all five in 5 to 10 mins. the respwan of the Trolls was also good.
So at the time of this post, the quest is easily do-able, and not a pain as it may have been at the time of previous postings.

What I noticed is that even though the drop rate is lower then expected, the spawn rate is pretty high. Be prepared to kill every Drakkari Defender and Injured Drakkari Refugee in sight. Burn them all down then loot. Repeat as needed.

Had to kill 12 trolls for the first mojo to drop. After that got the remaining 4 from the next 6 kills

I had a very, very low drop rate. Took me roughly 20 min and about 50 kills just to get the 5 mojos. If you can AoE, your best bet would be round up all the Injured Drakkari Refugee and the single Drakkari Witch Doctor that is watching over them, and kill them all at once. There is about 4 spawns around the outside of the courtyard, where the grass starts.

I swear the drop rate increases with how many you've already looted.

I guess that's just the RNG, but the first one took much longer than the resulting ones.

I Killed three groups (about 5-10 mobs /group) and i got 9 total. The drop rate seems ok.

I think I worked this out. DON'T kill the guys around the brazier... kill the ones around the outside. I kill heaps of them around the brazier and nothing dropped. Decided to go outside and bam... the last two I needed, one right after the other.

So the people having issues with the drop rate might just be killing them in not quite the right area for it to drop.

Be prepared to be patient. The drop rate is abysmal but they do drop. Took me almost half an hour.

Am I missing something in the database here? Just from exploring around, I came across these trolls and started to kill a few for fun. After about 10 kills, I had 5 of these, and so decided to look here before vendoring them at Conquest Hold. And alas! I see from the above comments there is some quest mentioned to do with these flasks, yet the database itself make no association to any quest involving these.

Are these for any present quest, or has that been removed?

yea its a joke to say this is 50% drop rate. ive killed 30 of these trolls and gotten only 3 of these mojo

Please note the way Wowhead calculates drop rates, the drop rate is the percentage rate of non-money items looted, not the drop rate per mob killed. This is an important distinction because if a mob will drop on occasion only money (as is fequently the case with humanoids), they do not get figured into the percentage. So if you kill 30 Injured Drakkari Refugees and of those thirty: 28 drop only money, 1 drops Desperate Mojo, and 1 drops some random grey; Wowhead will state that the drop rate for Desperate Mojo to be 50% instead of the 3.3% you might expect them to. Hope this helps to clarify the confusion.

yeah, I've killed over 50, 2 mojos dropped from mobs near the brazier, 2 outside. in my experience, the drop rate is the same for all. It makes no sense programming-wise for the ones on the edge to have a higher drop rate. I think some people just happened to hit their lucky streak on the outside and posted it. This is a terrible part of the quest no matter what. Besides the drop rate, the mobs are extremely inconveniently positioned for squishies like leather melee, and clothies.

It seems that once you get one, you'll have a massive burst in drop rate, like 75%. Or at least thats what happened to the two people I've done this quest with so far.

I had my account hacked by a gold farmer, and when I got it back, my entire inventory was full of these. Strange.

My friends account was stolen and his main charater was used to farm these. Apperentally this is pretty popular spot among bots, seeing as there is always atleast three of them there farming non-stop. So if you feel like going on a bot killing spree, this is your place. I also recommend trying to kite them, i managed to get one as far as Frozen Sea uintil it reacted and started running back.

Trying to loot the 5 Desperate Mojo was frustrating until I decided to focus on the single Drakkari Defenders that were guarding the stairs and the outskirts. Perhaps it was just chance, but when I was fighting 5 or more mobs at a time, I was getting ZERO drops, but when I just attacked one at a time, on the fringe areas, they dropped more frequently. This was my experience and I hope it helps others.

I tried killing the defenders on the outskirts of the area like KrazyKrewson suggested and went from a 0% drop rate to a 100% drop rate. Don't kill anything else in hopes of a drop as you probably will get skunked once again. After I finished the quest I noticed that in the quest text it states that you need to get the mojo "from the defenders there". Need some mojo there you go.

I can say I killed 4 defenders, got 2 desperate mojo. I then proceeded to take on a bunch of injured drakkari refugees and a few witch doctors that were all clumped up, maybe like 8 mobs. They dropped the other 3 i needed. Must have significantly upped the drop rate by 5.1

Have to say it feels very conflicted, especially as a Troll, to be killing wounded refugees for a quest item to help a suspect character. Feels conflicted to kill the defenders, since they're fighting Scourge. Even if none of them want to talk when I try to role play offering to help. :P :D
