Supposedly drops in Drak'tharon Keep. As of this post (July 22, 2008) it is the highest DPS melee weapon so far discovered in Wrath of the Lich King and the second highest DPS melee weapon in the game, just behind Apolyon, the Soul-Render.

looks nice, i would love to have this on my ret pally, but still warriors and DK's have first dibs, as this is an attack power weapon, and ret pallies should go more for strength, as they get more out of it, for instance; if 1str = 2 atk, but any ret pally in his/her right mind would get divine strength, witch in wrath will give not a 10% bonus to str, but a 15% bonus. so it's more warr and DK fighting over it, but still i would roll for it if no one else that could use it was in the group, simply because im using Gorehowl right now and i will probly still be using it by the time i make it to this.

Would this weapon be better than cats edge? i dont think so due to the armor pen and high base dmg of cats edge . would a knowledgable ret pally use this over cats edge?

First new world 2H sword that's actually worth a damn. Unfortunate too because for people crazy enough to be an arms warrior (like me) and enjoy swords over axes (even though all indication is that they never want arms warriors to wield anything but an axe again if you look at the weapon specs)

Comparing this to Axe of Frozen Death for DKs, I would take it for DPSing/soloing. But for tanking I would take Axe of Frozen Death because the stam and raw str to add to parry and health.

I am not sure about Fury Warriors in WotLK now but; this would be comparable to http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35576 (Ingvar's Monolithic Cleaver). Troll Butcherer has better damage and speed, but if you are lacking majorly in the hit department, go with IMC. With 3.08 coming up, might want to grab a couple of these just in case you feel you have good enough hit.

Weapon speed doesn't matter at all in regards to SoC, it's PPM. The only thing that matters is average damage, and the difference isn't that great (43 damage).

These two statements directly contradict each other.

Seal of Command operates based on a static 7 PPM (procs per minute) - but because it is based on your "average damage," speed is in fact an extremely important component of how much damage SoC contributes over time.

The reason is simple. On two weapons with equal DPS but different speeds, the slower weapon will always do more damage on average hit. Since SoC's proc rate slides to scale with your weapon speed; each individual hit on a slower weapon is more likely to proc than any given hit from a faster weapon, and will do more damage when it does. This effect is in turn amplified by SoC's critical hits, which are also amplified for the same reasons stated above.

Because of this, there are a number of cases where a slower weapon with less DPS will actually out-parse a higher DPS weapon that's faster when using SoC.

TL:DR - Weapon speed is an extremely important component of SoC's damage over time, and should be strongly considered by any Ret Paladin when considering any two weapons with similar DPS (Until you start using Seal of Blood/Martyr.)

Great weapon to dual wield with Titan grip around 74, your dps will be immense, i have Greater savagery on each, and now every dugeon im in im always top in the dps meters.

Great pvp weapon also, Ull have some insane burst damage as a warrior is insane, i Burst Killed a rogue, while i was at around 4% he had about 90~ and with 1 burst of damage boom, he was dead.

This weapon is awesome. I am dual - weilding this on my 74 fury warrior with crusader on both of them. I imagine i won't replace them until 79 or 80.

Would be nice for a hunter i believe. Nice AP and though it has no agil and intel for that little mana boost we hunters need, overall i think its a nice weap for a hunter.

Great for lvl 74, but is replaced at lvl 75 by De-Raged Waraxe. good for the 1 lvl you will have it. (looks great with DK's and Fallen Crusader!)

As a warrior its in good interest to pick this weapon up for transmog. It nicely matches quite a bit of armor sets for warrior (Currently using it with T6)
