I came across this tunic by chance - or rather by lots of patient checking of the chest armor visuals on this site - when researching the blue version of the possible sports outfits.

I had gotten the idea that the Shimmering set would make a great sports uniform for team sports such as baseball or football, and I knew there was a matching blue top somewhere as well, but I didn't know the name. So I searched, and before I found what I was looking for in the Sage's set, I came across the Crimson Tunic, which was the same thing in red.

Unfortunately, there is no cut-and-dried Crimson set, so I had to go and search for all items of the red uniform individually. And lo and behold, I got lucky and came up with this. However, the red team would have to be made up of Alliance engineers exclusively since the tunic comes from an Alliance-only quest while the Goblin Rocket boots are only available to engineers.

(Here are all three sets in one comparison for easier reference.)

So, get ready for a nice and civilized sporting event in the World of Warcraft. Ahem. Civilized. Right. What about battlegrounds fought in this sports dress? Or imagine an Arena battle of opponents clad in such a uniform each.

Edit: My set originally had the Astralaan Pants for trousers, since I wasn't able to find better matching ones.
Courtesy of Nobodygirl's absolutely brilliant suggestion below (thanks for that one, mate!) I have been able to change the red set to include the X-52 Pilot Leggings. Now it's perfect!

As a good suit with this piece, I chose a Simple Kilt, A Knitted Belt, and a pair of Bright Boots. Now my gnome apeears as a living Doll!

As of the Shattering, this item is no longer obtainable from the quest "Take Down Tethyr!"

Whether an identical-looking item is available in-game is doubtful. Sorry gnome priest RP'ers. :(

If you managed to complete the quest Take Down Tethyr!] before Cataclysm, this item now properly shows up in your Appearances tab. Rejoice!
