I'd personally like these over the Clodstompers. You get nearly as much strength if you socket these properly, because of the socket bonus. And if you decide to forgo the bonus and slap a +8 in there... well, it becomes a whole lot better. Or better yet a stamina/strength gem, and in the yellow socket pop in a crit rating gem and these are golden. Get the stamina enchant and then you've got yourself quite a good pair of dps boots, I'll be grinding my green butt off to get these come the patch, thats for sure.

My guess to the paladin skin on this pair of boots is Blizzard being lazy. There is a mail helm with the Helm of Might graphic with intellect and mana per 5 on it, should only warriors use that? That aside, I look forward to picking these up. Get rid of these hideous orange boots I'm wearing.

Great pair of boots, IMO...

For those that link the Marshal's, do take note the gem slots allow for customisation.

I would love to insert in a +8 hit gem and transform it into a perfect pair for fury.

There have been a lot of comparison's between these and the PvP plate boots. Take a look what happens with the stats in the Vortex Walker Boots when you plug in some gems, including one of the epic PvP gems that you can now get from the quartermasters.

The Veteran's Plate Greaves (Horde side) have the following stats and cost 17,850 honor and 40 Eye of the Storm marks.

By putting in, for example, the +10 crit epic PvP gem (which costs only 6,885 honor) and a Jagged Talasite for +4 crit, +6 stamina, you end up with the Vortex Walker's looking like this:

914 armor
31 strength
34 stamina
+33 crit rating

That's the same strength and two more crit rating than the PvP plate boots while losing the 30 resilience (a primarily PvP stat anyway), 11 stam and 258 armor. You could even forsake PvP entirely and just pick up a +8 crit Dawnstone and end up with strength and crit identical to the Veteran's boots, making these boots easy equals to the PvP pair for PvE dps especially for the more PvE oriented player.

As mentioned above, these boots are even arguably on the same level as the Ironstrider's Boots of Urgency http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28608#M0z. Socketing the Ironstrider's with the best gems available to the average Karazhan raiding DPS warrior (say, the +20ap and the +10 crit pvp gems) the Vortex Walker's have comparably almost half a point more crit, but less attack power (24 less AP, but .43% more critical strike chance - or, 9.5 crit rating).
