I wouldn't be surprised if these are going to receive a nerf in the near future.

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30091 for comparison. it's loot from Serpentshrine Cavern no less, and the only real 'bonus' to these is the socket, the rest of the difference is marginal.

WoWArmory even shows that there are only 7 upgrades from this for a Hunter.
