I have seen a few comments in other places saying that they wish you weren't forced to take the 25/55 talent as it eats into your profits. This is a misconcenption, you will still proc the chance to make a gemstone without that talent, but instead it will be this grey vendor trash item instaed of an actual gem. You can test this by simply doing enough Thaumaturgy crafts while being below a 25/55 KP investment to see a proc.
