It seems like more and more people are going for non-set items. It makes sense too; they usually have more +spell damage (not necessarily stats though) than set pieces. In Naxx, the extra spell damage helps a ton (like for Patchwerk).

Then there is PvP. Of course extra spell damage helps in PvP. Also with the new patch, I think a lot of people will start PvPing since the rewards are so much easier to attain.

These gloves imo are the best there is :) they have more + damage than Frostfires and the 1% hit helps alot when end game raiding. with +20 fire or +20 frost thats 57 Spell damage for a mage or +20 For a warlock. The gloves match the warlock tier 2.5 PERFECTLY! Best gloves for a very long time.
