I don't get why this has an alchemy requirement to use. Doesn't the fact this is account bound kinda infer that they mean for you to bounce it another toon if you want? Do I need to make all my toons alchs just so I don't mess up my raid?

While this cauldron can be awesome, there are some requirements to use it. First, whatever character is going to actually place the cauldron down for the raid needs to have at least level 10 in Dragon Isle Alchemy. Second, the phials available in the cauldron depend on the phials learned by the person who places it. For example, I made the cauldron on my hunter which has all recipes learned. I am not maining my hunter this tier so I sent to my evoker. I couldn't even lay the cauldron down. We had a guildie place a work order for the cauldron and I crafted it. He went to use it and it would only give us options for Tepid Vers, Elemental Chaos, Glacial Fury, and Eye in the Storm.

TLDR: Be careful when using these, it's not as simple as it seems.

Has anyone noticed that this week this recipe has started requiring 410 of difficulty whereas last week and all weeks before that it was on 400-405? Now it requires a minor illustrious insight out of the blue when I could guarantee level 3 without it before.

Which specialization does this go with? At the moment my skill in making these is at 187. Recipe Difficulty is 410. Where do I need to spend my points in order to get my skill in making these up? I wish Blizz would add that bit in the tool tip of recipes learned or to be learned. Oh, just on all recipes. :D

My alchemist made his first cauldron today and mailed it to my main for raiding. I see that the cauldron is only rank 2 even though I used only rank 3 ingredients where possible. Does anyone know how to make rank 3 cauldrons? I don't see it under unlearned recipes and there appears to be only one type of recipe on the AH.

Later: I've made 10 of these at this point and one of them turned out to be rank 3. So is it just random?

I put one of these down in the last few days on my main, which is not an alchemist, and all phials correctly showed up.

I believe this item is actually useful nowadays unless it was somehow a fluke-- it couldn't be dropped in the open world, so I dropped it alone in Ruby Life Pools for the sake of testing it.

I would be surprised if it didn't work in actual content/raid groups, but I'll report back on 11/29 (Tuesday reset) if it doesn't work in raid for whatever reason.

Currently you don't need alchemy to place the cauldron, and the cauldron's contents are based on the known phial recipes of the alchemist who MADE the cauldron.
I switched my raiding main from my alchemist to my LW, and was worried about how this would work out, but last night I tested it - my LW placed a cauldron made by my alchemist, and it contained all of the phials that my alchemist knew. The tooltip as it stands is incorrect.

If a boss is reset while a Phial Cauldron is up, the cauldron disappears. Ultimate potions are safe, but phials can be wasted.
