that has pretty good mob density of salty salamanders to farm.

After getting my skinning to max, I got one scale off of a Salty Salamander by Wingrest Embassy. It took about 20-30 kills to get one scale. Then I moved to Overflowing Rapids. I got one scale off of a Coastal Salamanther and one scale off of a Prime Salamanther. It took multiple tries on both, but I do recommend getting your skinning up before trying this.

If you are hunting these specially for 工匠补给：蝾螈之鳞 while leveling, there's an easy way to get them! Here's my comment from the quest.

Go to 22,65 in 欧恩哈拉平原 and wait for 领地水滨幼崽 (rare, very short respawn when killed) to spawn, if already not there. You will get 4x 蝾螈之鳞 for skinning it AND also 3x 异彩鳞皮 and 7 - 11x 坚钢之鳞.

Farmed various locations with no luck before getting to /way 70,36 in 欧恩哈拉平原 where I was able to find 3 within 5 minutes by skinning 泥行蝾螈

I didn't get any of the scales until I was Dragon Flight Skinning 100 then I got all 3 in 15 minutes from the salty salamanders

I think the best Salamanther type to farm these is the Springwater Salamanther, they are usually in packs of two and there seems to be several packs together.

I've farmed these is in Ohn'ahran Plains around /way 52.2, 70.1. There are two packs close together, and in the area around there are other Salamanther types.

I've found these to have a respawn timer of around 6 minutes.

I know some people said they didn't get one till they hit 100 on skinning, but I got my first at 66, so looks like it's possible (but low chance) before 100

There is a rare on the western shore of Ohn'ahran plains called, Territorial Coastling, at 23/66. I'm 62, with 100 skinning and Trophy collector unlocked but with no points. The single kill gave me all 3 scales that I needed for the skinning weekly.

Edit: Just killed him again on a 61, 100 points in skinning but no knowledge spent, and it dropped the 3 again.

You can buy these from the auction house, but currently they cost just as much each as the dense hide, which is the reward - so not really worth it if you need these for the quest: Artisan's Supply: Salamanther Scale. If you're reading this comment several months after I have posted it though and you're doing this quest, check the AH just in case prices have come down significantly as they usually do. It might be worth purchasing them from the AH at that point in time.

Started farming for this with empty Resource Bag. I see it's hit 190 scales before I got my first drop. This has to be the most insanely low drop rate for a quest in the game. I think something HAS to be broken.

I went to 4 locations marked on my map trying to find any salamanter . I found a location that had a few even with skinning 100 no drop I just went back to valdrakken and bought it on the action house

for those who didn't get luck and was hard to get the Salamanther Scales in Ohn'ahran Plains go back to the start zone " Dragonheart Outpost " and farm there. It will be easier & faster. I got 3 less then 1 min.

There's a pretty good drop rate from the Geyser Salamanthers around 51, 73 in the Ohn'ahran Plains.

So this data isn't 100% accurate. Salamanther Scales are also dropped by Prime Salamanthers (coordinates 54, 63 in Walking Shores) and Costal Salamanthers (coordinates 55,60 in Walking Shores.) Drop rate is about 50%.

OK, just finished Territorial Coasting. The hardest part was figuring out where "22.65" was. For those who are foundering as I was, it's on the southwest coast of Ohn'Aran Plains; the location name is Sjhady Sanctuary. The full coordinates are: 22.65, 63.71. As for the bad guy, he was visible when I got there (L70 Companion Druid); and the fight lasted barely a minute. I got 3 skins and 3 other goodies, so it was worth the effort. I waited briefly and he re-spawned in under 5 minutes so if you don't get the skins you will get a quick shot at him again. The other thing, I flew to a couple of unidentified flight points in Azure Span and Ohn'Aran Plains so I can come back and farm (skinning, herbalism) the Plains and the Azure Span. Looks like it will be profitable.

No need to go wait out for a rare to spawn. I got my scales near the island at approx. 69,37 from Mudwalker Salamanthars. They have a slow drop rate but I got all 3 for my "Artisan Supply" quest in about 30-45 min.
