As of patch 2.0.1, this item now costs 22,500 Honor Points and 20 Arathi Basin Marks of Honor. And no longer requires Grand Marshal.

nice for PROT paladins,even RETRI cause it got +23 stamina and 35-65 Nature Damage to attackers

Not wise to waste honor for this shield if you are planning to do "AoE" grinding with protection paladin. Wait two levels and pick the shield below instead. You will block a lot when fighting against multiple melee enemies. Therefore it beats 5% chance easily and does more damage over time.

Petrified Lichen Guard

Deadly poison spores ( Poison DoT):

48 nature damage over 12 seconds. Ticks every 3 seconds.
Up to 240 nature damage over 12 seconds (max. 5 stacks).
Every applied poison spores will refresh the total duration even if there is 5 stacks already.

hmm. As i See it 5% Is alot when u are killing 7-12 Mobs at the same time, I'm getting this to my Alt, I don't Believe u and If u r Right I will learn i the hard way. Btw if u r a Prot warr, u can find better shields:P

This shield is weilded by Bolvar Fordragon when he (Practicly) ruled Stormwind and (SPOILER ALERT!) at the Battle at the Wrath Gate. showing he represented all the races of the alliance Bolvar will be missed....

On PTR for 4.3 this item cannot be used for transmogrification. Hope this will change or Blizz will offer an additional item with this skin.

Seriously, what is the point of these Legacy items if not for transmogrifying. Same goes for legendary items, some of the best looking weapons in the game are legendary, but who would bother when you cant transmogrify them. Common lads and lasses, join me in opening a suggestion box and typing " please please please make legendary and legacy items transmogrifiable!"

I believe the three symbols mounted near the side of the shield represent Dwarves (A hammer), Night Elves (A crescent moon), and Gnomes (A gear). Sadly, no representation for Draenei, Worgen, or Pandaren, since none of them were playable alliance races at the time.
