Does the net actually have to hit players in order for them to be healed?
As I have some pugs think it's badness and run away :D

Can somebody clarify this for me? The wording says allies are healed for up to 30% of the amount stored. So if the top card says it heals for 10k and I only hit one player, are they only getting 3.33k healing?

Clarification on what this trinket does. Below is behaviour, further down is live-testing in dungeons.
While in combat (and the trinket is NOT on cooldown), you will get a cycling buff that signifies how much the trinket will heal when cast. It will shuffle A(ce), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 at complete random -- with Ace being the lowest heal at 8106 and 8 being the highest heal at 16213. When the trinket comes off of cooldown, and when it is first equipped, it will always start on Ace.
On use, you will instantly cast a slow moving wall forwards in the direction you are facing. The wall is about 8yards wide, traveling about 50yards before disappearing. This wall starts about 5 yards behind you on cast, but this may be visual as I don't have a means of testing it right now. The speed of the wall projectile is a smidge over 30% move speed (it is just barely quicker than the 30% move speed of Cat Form, with no +speed on equipment).

, as well as any other targets, as long as all of the targets it passes through have missing health. No healing is triggered if the target is at full health. The wall always passes through you on cast.
The trinket description "Allies are healed for up to 30% of the amount stored" means that the amount of health you receive will be up to 30% of the card buff's healing at the time of cast. ex; drawing an 8 will heal you for a
max
of 30% of 16213 = 4863. The trinket does its absolute best not to overheal a target in my testing, where it can easily heal 120 hp with only 9 overheal.
This heal can critically strike, but I have no way to test if the critical heal counts towards the maximum amount of healing the trinket provides, and if it does, it may or may not reduce healing output from overhealing on crit (since it tries not to overheal as-is).
I have no idea what happens when the full amount of healing on the wave is used up, whether the visual effect disappears or not. It's not very visible and hard to tell during combat.

Testing in dungeons, the trinket works very well for spot healing if you are standing close to your intended target(s), and also works as a decent free self-heal if you lack an instant cast self heal. The trinket being able to crit makes it a surprisingly strong if unpredictable way to get a significant boost in healing, being able to crit for upwards 10,000~ healing on a perfect 8 draw.
In low difficulty mythic+0 content, and with my very low item level, it's one of my strongest on-demand instant cast healing spells I have available, and is one of very few healer trinkets that has controllable healing output when you want to heal specific targets. It also has base intellect, which is a lot more desirable than base secondary stat for a trinket, and is extremely cheap to craft and purchase.

tl;dr: press trinket to shoot slow wall projectile that heals everyone it passes through including you for a good amount with some randomness. very strong and worth buying if you have weak healing trinkets. extremely easy to use. probably one of the ugliest visuals for a trinket in this tier of Shadowlands, 2/10 in style points.

Because 1) it's so positional, 2) the wave effect is slow (tending to miss targets which were there a second or two ago) and 3) the heal is a bit mediocre anyway, I have dumped this on my Priest and Shammy pretty early on for ANY other trinket. Even one which mainly helps my DPS as a healer.
