15-minute cooldown.

Not a damage or healing offhand, so it's really a caster toy. The skeleton is level 60 and lasts the full minute. Has 4-6K HP.

It DOES keep attacking rogues through vanish.
It DOES automatically defend you if attacked.
It DOES NOT SEEM to have a limited range of chase.

My druid has this, it's not really useful in raids but it is a lot of un in pvp.

The fire runed grimoire is a more practical offhand and drops in MC. however, my warlock uses this item as an offhand, and the skeleton isnt bad, hes basically like another DoT on a target, and can be annoying for casters by knocking down their casting bars with a bunch of physical hits. Hes pretty tough to kill, but doesnt do all that much damage. Still definitely a fun toy to mess around with, and can be very helpful by keeping an additional enemy occupied while soloing.

Seems to have a huge drop percentage. Our guild was disenchanting them after only a few weeks of downing onyxia.

This off-hand is a fantastic toy, but even better as a last resort. My guild just did a 5-mage run of scholo this past weekend, we got to the room with the ghoul and magic-immune skeleton pulls. Needless to say, I used this book to summon my little helper and we painstakingly got past all of the magic-immune skeletons. =D Definitely handy in a tight spot to get out the extra dps (he hits for about 60-100, crits for around 200, roughly a 2.0 attack speed).

i found it usefull on my druid in alterac valley when soloing very very very usefull if you are like a feral or a resto druid
and dont have the treants from balance or you are balance and your treants are re-charging however its a very low drop rate but s of burning crusade you can take her out easyer however she is still onyxiaand it can easily b replaced by burning crusade

This thing is the stuff for arenas. Pop it on, and right before you enter combat, summon the skelly and switch back to your main weapon. It interrupts cast time which is sweet against healers. Not to mention like 75 dps. My druid friend an I both use them in our 2v2 group and they spit hot fire.

In Laintime's most recent movie a druid used this item, while rooted Laintime dealt approximately 2500 damage to the Skeleton before it collapsed. This should give an indication of its health.

My friend's hunter uses this to solo the Dire Maul Arena boss, he casts missdirection on it when he gets agro/pet dies, and resurrects pet/bandages... Might be helpful if you know how to use it for good ;).

My warrior has it, and it's very funny to spike it when running noobs through Deadmines, They arn't sure what to say.

But I'd suggest it for a caster, though. It doesn't help a warrior any except by being awesome.

The Death Knight's ability Death Pact does indeed work with this pet. It does not sacrifice it but will still heal you for the 20% if used.

The skeleton will not disappear if you change your offhand item after summon.

if my account wasn't banned because of a hacker i would try to get this every single day and the achievement before it becomes lv80 raid, *sigh* just have to faction switch my alliance hunter because there is no way i am getting to lv60 and getting help from some guildies to take her down before new patch comes out on my belf hunter

This would be great for a Death Knight (Unholy Spec) to have this item aswell as Book of the Dead, Antique Cornerstone Grimoire, and Antediluvian Cornerstone Grimoire. Then simply create a macros to used the item then switch it out for the other summoning books, summoning each skeleton (each lasting 60 sec) before casting Army of the Dead (each ghoul lasting 40 sec).

In addition to your raised ally (granted you were able too have one die), ghoul minion, and gargoyle that would be a great undead army to see for a total of 17 NPCs under your "command": 1 raised ally, 4 skeletons, 10 ghouls (is this the max able to be summoned with the spell?), a ghoul minion, and a gargoyle. Topping it off with Haunted Memento, though it doesn't attack, it does add to the visual aspect. Now you'll look like the Lich King has personally sent you leading a strike force :)

There are other summoning trinkets but this an "Undead Army" theme, unless I missed another item summoning undead minions ;)

I can't wait to unlock Death Knight!

There are essentially four versions of this book:
The 亡者之书 from 巴纳扎尔 in 斯坦索姆.
This book from the original level 60 奥妮克希亚.
The replacement 远古角石魔典 from Onyxia 10 man.
The stronger replacement 远古角石魔典 from Onyxia 25 man.

The on-use effect for all of them is the same - to summon a 骷髅.

On the Legion Beta the Use effect was replaced with an Equip effect for some reason, meaning you could summon your own Army of Skeletons!
