In Wrath of The Lich King expansion, tier 3 no longer exists, Cured rugged hide can't be used to obtain tier 3.

At this point, Cured Rugged Hide is largely worthless. The armor it crafts is mostly level 60 or nearly-so, with a few pieces of ridiculously expensive low-50 armor. Even if you can get the hide for free - and it's not entirely unlikely that you can - the armor just plain isn't worth crafting anymore.

There is one thing it is still useful for.

Namely, making a Tranquil Mechanical Yeti.

How true, especially when you want to get the Shop Smart, Shop Pet...Smart achievment - every pet counts :)
