When I found the recipe, I decided to craft and test one right away. Little did I know what this entailed.

As I was currently in an underwater cave at that point, the buoy attempted to shoot me right up to the water's surface. There was none to be had, so they helpfully clipped me right through the cave's ceiling and out of the world.
Realizing that there was no more water, they then de-spawned and dropped me again. Causing me to plummet into the black void, where I fell for what seemed an eternity before finally dying.
At the end I could only pay for being revived by the Ghost Healer, as I could not reach my body.

In short: Those things are the pure essence of engineering. 10/10, would buoy again.

I like how there's no description at all on the item. You can really see the care and effort they've put into Engineering this expansion.

As mentioned in another comment, these do not stack, cannot be sold to vendors, and cannot be obliterated when mass levelling Engineering. Use this macro to delete ALL Leystone Buoys from your bags

/run for b=0,4 do for s=1,GetContainerNumSlots(b)do local n=GetContainerItemLink(b,s);if n and string.find(n,"Leystone Buoy") then PickupContainerItem(b,s);DeleteCursorItem();end;end;end;

The item MUST be in your bags in order for the macro to work and will delete all from your bags rapidly

If like me you are levelling Engineering 1-700 using this recipe these items cannot be sold to vendors and do not stack.

Use this macro to just delete them all from your inventory.

This doesn't remove anything except these bad buoys.

If you're power leveling Engineering with these, you can use this macro to clear your bags:

As of 7.3.2, now stacks in lots of 20 and can be vendored!

I realize that Im late to party but I sent stacks of buoys to my alts and guildies, not soul bound. Confirm, schematic drops from goblins in the cave. Quick way to get away from underwater mobs I would think, lol. I love engineering :)
