Simple test in Garrison. On Mage's Tower dummys with my frost mage char.

3 targets: primary (skull) and 2 dummy near: 100 and 102
pushing them only with frostbolts (without even pet) during 2 minutes. Have ~705ilvl. Normal Mannoroth trinket (700ivl with proc) and heroic version of Iscar trinket (710 ilvl with proc).
What we see here?

Primary target:
1. Frostbolt 96 1610729 (40%)
2. Doom Nova 118 915423 (23%) - normal Mannoroth trink proc
3. Icicle 182 890828 (22%)
4. Darklight Ray 39 614994 (15%) - heroic Iscar trinket proc

2nd target: Dungeoneer's Training Dummy
1. Icicle 12.37 (83%)
2. Doom Nova 1.68 (11%)
3. Darklight Ray 0.88 (6%)

About visual procs? Well It almost invisible. Like highly transparent fog for 0.5 sec. Hard to see actually.
My opinion about this trinket - it slighly sux. When I'll get archi trinket I most likely keep Mannoroth normal trinket. Not this one even hc version.

The proc can critically strike and multistrike, however it isn't effected by an elemental shaman's crit and multistrike damage bonuses. However, it is effected by the Tauren and Dwarf racials.

Hmm, not sure why this trinket has a 40% lower proc rate for Arcane Mages seeing as they have no advantage. I can see why the proc rate is lower for the Prophecy trinket because that proc is much better with Arcane Missiles, but this only fires once regardless.

Tested to see how this does for splash damage. It's hard to measure small #s of yards, but I found:
1. Its hitbox is a little narrower than the a Divine Star, though not laser-thin. It appears as two tiny purple dashes that fly much faster than a hunter's shots.
2. The beam pierces through targets. Sort of. It won't hit something 10yd behind your primary target. It -will- hit an adjacent target dummy, but only if the second target is lined up with the beam's hit path. It will not chain through targets and hit another that's close to the second target.
3. Pet attacks (Shadowfiend) and melee hits do not proc it.
4. DoT ticks will proc it.
5. Healing specs can proc it.
6. Range is 100yd or more and ignores LOS.

Since no one else has said it... Shockadin trinket?

Paladins are listed among the classes that can use it, but not among the specs that can receive it. And since Holy is the only paladin spec that uses Intellect....

It'd be interesting to see a paladin doing shadow damage, anyway!

So I spent some time on a raider's training dummy (single-target) casting only Incinerate with my warlock who had the Felfume 4-set bonus. I did a several runs of casting/resetting recount. I before getting the results, I would wait until the numbers stabilized. This trinket was from normal mode. Results were as follows:

1) Incinerate (62-67%)
2) Darklight Ray (17-20%)
3) Fel Meteor (13-17%)

In all cases, Darklight Ray provided between 2% and 5% more damage than Fel Meteor.

I just learned this, but Sethe's effect, Darklight Ray, WILL proc off of Touch of the Grave.

Can anyone confirm that this item really drops for holy spec paladins? After 9 weeks of farming there is still nothing for me. everything else from Iskars loot table is dropping all the time. Its so weird because the item is not listed in Iskars ingame loot table in the raid journal for holy paladins at all.

Edit: As a Paladin you have to be in Holy spec! Loot spec is not enough how it seems. I tried it for over 3 month and nothing dropped. second week in holy spec and it was there.

It seems to no longer deal damage in the Mage Tower.

After the recent ilvl scaling changes, this now drops as ilvl 136 (on heroic) with stats: 24 int, 806 dmg proc. If you were using this in a timewalking gear set, you absolutely need to farm a new one.

In a WoD timewalking dungeon, the updated ilvl trinket did 3-4x more damage than the old ilvl version I had from previously.
