I found one of the Deactivated Ogre Waygates in Spires of Arak at 54.6-51.6. It looks like a blue bubble floating around.

Edit: Found another one in Shadowmoon Valley at 50,5-35.6

They dropped from the Gordunni ogres in Talador for me. Pretty bad droprate, but they do drop.

After you collect all 25, you need to go to one of the waygates in a zone of your choosing (they will be marked with a quest blob in each zone) to open up a permanent portal to the one you chose.

I got 9 in a run of Bloodmaul Slag Mines off the ogres in there. So far that seems like the best place to farm, going to queue for it again and see how it goes.

Edit to add second run yielded 11 for a total of 20 in about 45 min Worth of dungeon running.

These have have a chance to drop off of ANY ogre (in WoD content) as long as you have a Mage Tower at level 1 or higher.

Pretty nice spot in the cave at the back of the Stonemaul Arena in Gorgrond, mobs re spawn instantly when you finish killing the rest of the ogres in the cave. Farmed 25 minutes in a 5-7 minutes.

I had some great luck farming them at Mar'Gok's Overwatch in southern Nagrand while questing there.

Lots of Ogres, got my 25 stones fairly quickly.

Apparently, you can't get any 食人魔道标石 if your Mage Tower isn't "physically" built yet. I was only able to loot it/see it drop after the Mage Tower upgrade was complete (level 1 to 2), even though I was able to loot a few before the said upgrade.

Confirmation would be appreciated.

EDIT: Looks like since patch 6.1 those stones will drop no matter if the building is going through an upgrade or not. As long as you have a Mage Tower/Spirit Shack in your Garrison, you'll get those from general Ogre loot.

The Gordunni Ogres at Gordal Fortress in Talador drop them at a decent rate. I farmed them in groups of 4 or five starting at the base of the fortress than moving up. They sit in groups of 2-3 so its not to hard to pull groups of 5 or 6 at a time.
To get inside the fortress, you need to have access to or have completed the quest: Dropping In
if you are on that quest or have completed it, you can enter the fortress using the rope/portal that is just to the left of the force field blocking the entrance.

Just found this new location which is MUCH better then the previous. Drop rate is very high.
Grimfrost Hill located at around 66 47.

Took me about ~~15-20~~ 5-10 mins to gather the 25+ stones using this area.

The portals are located in:
Gorgrond at 58.0, 34.5 by Blackrock Foundry
Nagrand at 32.2, 46.2 by the Ancestral Grounds
Spires of Arak at 54.6, 51.6 by Veil Zekk.
Talador at 55.1, 46.0.
Frostfire Ridge at 61.5, 45.6 by The Crackling Plains.

It takes a total of 25 stones to unlock a portal. You can have a total of 3 portals in a level 3 mage tower.

These drop randomly from ogres after completing the Spirit Lodge (H) or Mage Tower (A).

25 of these can be used to open a portal in Draenor connected to your building. Allowing 2-way traffic trough them.
You can have 1-2-3 portals open depending on the level of the building.

For locations of the portals you can check out the location of these NPCs: Ancient Waygate Protector

If you change your mind after activating a portal, you can use 10 stones at these NPCs to close a portal. Allowing you to spend 25 stones on another portal elsewhere.

There is a building inside the mountain in Stonemaul Arena in Gorgrond (entrance: 39, 67) that has level 92 ogres with a really fast respawn rate. I was able to farm 42 in 30 minutes. Thought I'd share, happy farming! :)

I managed to farm the 25 Required for the quest resonably quickly (15 minutes) at Gordal Fortress in Talador.

The mobs there are very easy to kill and sometimes drop more than one Waystone.

The closest Flight Master to this location is Exarch's Refuge, Talador. From there you go hard east because you need to take the right path to get up to the Fortress.

You need to take "Serenas Portal" to get inside the Fortress. (Quest)

You only get the Quest once but the Waystones will continue to drop so you can complete your other portals.

The best place i've found so far to farm this is Time-Lost Glade in Nagrand (90,35)

The http://www.wowhead.com/npc=88657 have a decent drop chance (1-3 stones per kill) and quick respawn, it took me 10min aprox to get the 25 stones.

Just to the west of Sethekk Hollow there are Highmaul Skullcrushers along the river that drop these.

It is a lower drop rate, but they give Arakkoa Outcasts rep when killed. So if you are going to be grinding that rep anyway, it's a good place to do it if you don't mind waiting just a bit longer to get them.

Hands down, best farm location. As a level 100 guardian druid that gets hit like he wears paper, I was easily able to pull all the ogres in the Bloodmaul Slag Mines on normal so far ive gotten almost a full stack (60) if not more, per clear. 10-15 minutes per clear.

If your mage tower is under construction or non existant, you will be unable to get them to drop.

Edit: doing quick clears by just running around the center ring would result in 30 waystones in ~6 minutes

The best place to farm these is the cave at the Sonemaul Arena in Gorgrond (38.67). The mobs have 32k HP and they almost instantly spawn again after you kill them. I got 150 waystones in 20-30 min.

I was able to farm about 400 of these at Grimfrost Hill in Frostfire (coords 68, 46) in about an hour to an hour and a half time. The mobs spawn fairly quickly and can drop anywhere between 1-3 at a time.

Grimfrost Hill in Frostfire Ridge. Ogres are only level 90-91 and drop waystones faster than any other zone I've tried so far.

Best place to get a level 3 mage tower imo.

Bloodmaul Slag mines is a decent place to get Ogre Waystones. Especially as a healer or tank, or if you have an inn and are on a quest, you get these for free basically. As alliance it can get annoying to fly to frostfire ridge to farm stones there, even though it is the best spot.

I highly recommend Broken Precipice, which on a non-daily day (Assault on the Broken Precipice), will yield an average of 1-3 Ogre Waystones and 1-4 Gorian Artifact Fragment per mob. I was able to kill two birds with one stone; build rep for Steamwheedle Preservation Society and complete this achieve.

This is a lvl 100 mob area so if you are trying to do this before you are properly geared, I recommend sticking to Frostfire Ridge instead and the recommendations by other posts.

I was farming these today, along with Frostwolf rep, in the Stonefury Cliffs. I looted 60 of these in about 35min, and then for the next 40min I didn't have a single one drop. Is there a hidden farm nerf in there that isn't advertised?

Patch 6.1 is removing the Unique 60-stone limit, and will now stack in lots of 1000. Additionally, Blizzard is putting in some actual value to these stones by allowing us to use them for work orders for 埃匹希斯水晶 as well as a new item, 加急任务指令. This makes this item and the Mage Tower a lot more valuable.

Kor'gall's Hovel, the cave in Stonemaul Arena in Gorgrond, has ogres with a virtually constant spawn rate. With starfall pulling, and runes of power, farming them is almost automatic. I got the 500 stones to unlock level 3 all at once, in easily under an hour. I haven't even placed a work order yet though...

As a hunter with and the mounted combat mount I found ogres in Nagrand to be a good farming spot. Misdirect on your pet (I used a macro), pull a bunch, go up the stairs, clear it up and by the time you're done the ones at the bottom will have respawned. They only have ~70k HP so they go down quickly.

It would seem that the cave in Gorgrond, located at 38,67 is made for farming these. The ogres respawn in front of your face for a steady stream of waystone farming carnage.

The ogres outside the cave spawn just as fast, perfect for ranged.

Patch 6.1

The new mage tower level 2 work orders consume 5 ogre waystones for approximately 200 apexis crystals, although this number varies by a few. I'd say from a couple days experience a ~30% chance of an instant mission completion item per work order. this means:

5 work orders (25 waystones) for 1k apexis crystals
6 work orders (30 waystones) for 24 hours worth of work orders
180 waystones = 36 work orders (level 3 mage tower + level 3 storehouse)
1.2k apexis crystals per day

I'd say mage tower is the best building for rerolling an alt because of this. quick apexis crystals for the legendary ring quest, can instantly complete 10 hour exp missions to quickly level followers, and can buy apexis gear sooner if that's your thing.

the ogre settlement northeast of the crackling plain waygate is a quick and easy way to get these, but if you get bored of killing the same ogres over and over then the ogre mining village south of Bladespire Citadel is a good place to farm.

Grimfrost Hill in Frostfire Ridge at around 66, 47 is a very good spot. Very nice drop rate and they reset pretty quickly. I also want to point out that they often drop 3 waystones at a time which makes it go even faster. I had not read that you could now hold 1000 waystones at a time so I just gathered 60 of them. I then opened up my first portal (you cannot be mounted when opening a portal). After it was open I clicked on the portal and went back to the garrison and turned in the quest. I was getting ready to head to the second spot to open my second waygate, when I noticed that I only had 10 of the 60 stones left. If it takes 25 to open a portal, I should have had 35 not just 10 of them left. So, I went back out and gathered up an additional 93 waystones and opened up my second portal. I accidentally clicked on the portal. I looked at my waystones and have only 28 of the 103 waystones left. That means that it must use waystones to use the portal or it takes more than 25 to open one.

I obtained 100 食人魔道标石 within 10 minutes.
Note: Respawn time (1 minute "looted corpses").

The Ogres only have 22.000 Health and are level 90-91.

The Grimfrost Hill is a fine spot for a ranged character. I went there on my paladin and encountered several unpleasantries there: mobs are too spread out for a melee character, they died too quickly to round them up and they respawned too slowly.

So instead I decided to try Bloodmaul Slag Mines normal. Instance contains mostly ogres. Good droprates. And the best thing - mobs have enough health not to drop dead from 2 hits. My paladin's at 690 ilvl and the place takes up to max 10 mins to clear from start to last boss.

I pull the instance in 5 pulls:
1. To the right of the entrace, all the trash + first boss > ~15-20 stones
2. To the right of the first boss all around to the entrance again with all the trash > ~13-17 stones
3. Elemental part with Magmolatus dude (kill the big ele mid-way, pull the rest of the trash to the boss) > ~5-7 stones
4. Kill Slagna + 4 trash mobs > Kill Roltall
5. Drag all the trash on top of Gugok > ~10-15 stones

If you're too lazy to run back, you can jump in the lava at the last boss and instantly die and respawn at the entrance. Go outside, reset, go again.

You could also opt to do just the first two pulls are those are the highest yielding pulls, but they take so little time you'd hit the max instances per hour limit fairly soon, therefore it doesn't really pay off.

Not to mention the item drops which for me resulted in about 2 stacks of dust while farming 200 waystones.

TL;DR - For a geared character I would much prefer Bloodmaul Slag Mines over Grimfrost Hill because:

Grimfrost mobs have such low hp, they drop dead from 2 hits not allowing mobs to be comfortably rounded up; BSM mobs have enough health not to die too soon and will chase you indefinitely throughout the instance allowing the player to round up as many as he likes
Grimfrost has a respawn timer, BSM just needs to be reset
Grimfrost mobs are fairly spread out/in buildings, BSM mobs are all neatly standing in halls of the instance
BSM has the added benefit of plenty of Draenic Dust if the player is an enchanter

I'm sure there's other benefits, but those are the key points why I chose BSM over Grimfrost. It's just much more comfrotable for a geared melee.

Regarding Farming these things, as many people have rightly mentioned, Grimfrost Hill in Frostfire Ridge is the place to go.

But here's a tip that takes it a bit further.

If you go here on your own and farm you will find yourself moving around a lot between the upper and lower areas. If you just stick to one area the respawn time is very slow. I assume this is because the respawn times are affected by the total number of adds being killed.

So...

Either go with a friend (you can't share stones, whoever loots them gets them so go Free For All) or if there is someone already there, politely ask them if they can stick to either the top area or the bottom area.

So one at the top, one at the bottom and never the twain shall meet. As you both start killing mobs, the respawn times are ridiculously high. When you previously thought your drop rate was acceptable, you'll soon realise that 300 stones for half an hours grind is pretty achievable.

I hope this helps the otherwise terrible boring grind

~~Frostfire Ridge~~ is not the best place (anymore?). They seem to have nerfed some places. ~~Bloodmaul Slag Mines~~ ogres are now elite, and since they silence a lot, it's not a good place at all.

I found the following post on the forums. The Kor'gall's Hovel is the best place so far, patch 6.2. They do spawn almost instantly. Kill the 8 ogres in the main room, then the other 3 in the room at your left, and the first ones will respawn by the moment you get back to them:

Went to WoWhead to find a good spot and it told me frostfire and it would take a little over an hour. Started to head there and got lost in gorgrond and ended up at the Stonemaul arena. If you keep uphill you'll find a cave called Kor'gall's Hovel.

When you first enter you should see two ogre guards posted to the left by the brazier(torch), kill them, then immediately keep left and you should see a slaver and two more guards. After you kill them a few times, they start to spawn instantly after you kill the other pack so just go back and forth until you get your 500. Took me about 30 minutes but I already had around 175 to start. Good luck!"

EDIT: There's no need to move (anymore, probably), you can stand still at 37.5 , 68.7 (the center of the main room) and still be in range (with 40 yards spells) to hit all 8 ogres spawning around you. Just turn around, hit them, and waystone will come to you. No need to move, aoe loot makes all work. It seems you have to farm both rooms about 5 times or so for this to start working.

As of 6.2 the previous farming spot at Grimforest Hill in Frostfire has been significantly nerfed and is no longer any good as a farming spot.
The best place I have found is in Gorgrond at the Stonemaul Arena
located at 38.7 , 67.4 is the entrance to a cave called Kor'gall's Hovel with 7 Stonemaul Guards inside the 1st room.
Clear the 1st room and move into the side room and kill the 3 Stonemaul Slavers and head back into the 1st room, the mobs will have respawned. From there on circle the 1st room and you will see mobs constantly respawning as you go around, you wont need to go back into the 2nd room again. TIP: You will farm more stones by killing them 2 by 2 than pulling the whole room.
The ogres drop loads of Ogre Waystones and I completed the Finding Your Waystones achievement in about an hour. Farming waystones here is crazy fast due to the very fast respawns and close proximity of the mobs.

If you're farming on a DK I made this macro. Make sure to use Glyph of Unholy Command and Glyph of Death Grip. Just weave in some frost strikes when you need to.

The best place I've found for farming is Lost Veil Anzu. Enter the area from the ocean and look to the right. They spawn very fast and drop a ton of stones.

This area also has the added benefits of giving you Arakkoa Outcasts rep and is a great place to farm for Bodyguard rep because you can grab the little octopus packs.

You can also work on Lost Veil Anzu achievements and purchase the Apexis Work order (or the daily if it is up) for crystals.

From your garrison fly to Deeproot in Gorgrond
Then go north to Stonemaul Arena on map
At "Fertile Ground" coords 44,71, take a left
Ride a bit more until you get to 42,65, you will see a stone arch, and alot of ogres, go inside the arch.
Walk straight ahead and keep to the right side, the cave entrancde is at 38,67.
And there you are, at Kor'gall's Hovel, great place to farm, fast respawns :)

If you just want a few stones for the workorder each day you can easily get 30-40 in 2 minutes.
Make the portal to Frostfire Ridge and just clear Icewind Drift and Grimfrost Hill.They are right next to the portal.
If you want these in bulk the best place still remains Stonemaul Arena,inside the cave.

After doing some research about these, I read that if you have any extra waystones on you at the time of turn-in, they would disappear. A few other people stated that this was fixed. Just in case, my friend and I both put our extras in the bank before turning in the 1st one. Went to gather up the ones in the bank and *POOF!*, THEY WERE GONE! So if you plan to farm these, I'd suggest you don't do the turn in until you've gotten all the waygates you want. (*sigh, soooo disappointed!*)

I found the Bladespire Citadel in Frostfire Ridge to be the best place to farm ogre waystones. I found a sweetspot with 9 Ogres in one spot. I timed it and got 40 ogre waystones in 5 minutes. The coordinates inside of the citadel where I farmed is (45.1 52.0) on the second floor. I am sure there are other spots in the citadel that you could farm that may be better but I found this one to be the best for me. The ogres are busy fighting frostwolf grunts and you do not pull aggro. Well, at least I didnt but I was level 100. I am not sure about lower levels. The re-spawn rate is about 5-10 seconds with the ogres. There is one caveat to farming here. You cannot complete the final quests inside of the citadel. If you do, the ogres will go away and you will no longer be able to farm in the citadel.

Relderf has a solid post here about where best to farm waystones.
As of 6.2.3, that is Kor'gall's Hovel, Gorgrond (around 38.60, 67.38).

You can start collecting 食人魔道标石 once you've completed construction of your 法师塔 / 灵魂小屋等级1 (Large Plot). This will also unlock 能量符文, a blue symbol that can spawn near your character (not under as the tooltip says) and increase your damage for a period of time.
Get the quest 食人魔传送门 from (A) 大法师科姆 or (H) 格兹拉 before you start collecting, as the excess stones you've collected will be removed from your inventory upon quest completion.
You'll need to complete 寻找道标石 to unlock the Level 3 blueprints (like other achievements, this unlocks purchase for your account, not limited to character).
Work orders at this building reward 埃匹希斯水晶 and have a chance to reward 加急任务指令 (work on garrison and shipyard missions, max in inventory 5).

Ogre Waygates

Waygates are 2-way.
You can have 1 gate per building level, so at level 3, you can have 3 gates open at once.
- If you attempt to activate a 4th gate, you'll receive the error: You can only have waygates open. Disable an activated waygate first.
25x食人魔道标石 to open a waygate - dismount and click the swirly bit in between the pillars.
10x食人魔道标石 to close a waygate - talk to the Ancient Waygate Protector nearby.

Lots of comments already related to farming these, so here's what you need to know about spending:

500 waystones = achievement "Finding Your Waystones" - Unlocks level 3 blueprints to mage tower/spirit lodge (1,000 gold to use blueprint)
25 waystones = activates a new waygate
10 waystones = deactivates old waygate

(If you activate a waygate and keep it open, it will stay open indefinitely)

5 waystones = create shipment for apexis crystals + bonus "Mission Complete" for Draenor shipyard and town hall missions (Mission Complete stacks to five) - see Apprentice Var'nath to turn in the work order (located at base, outside mage tower). Each shipment creates 100-300+ Apexis Crystals every 3-4 hours. Coordinates to Apprentice Var'nath vary depending where your mage tower is built, but he can be found right of the base.

Apexis Crystals earned from spending your waystones on mage tower missions can then be spent in Tanaan Jungle at the apexis vendor. See Dawn-Seeker Krisek to buy the following with apexis crystals:

1,000 Apexis Crystals = Contract: Solar Priest Vayx - Requires Honored with Order of the Awakened - he has Apexis Attenuation, doubling awarded apexis crystals from missions

I was able to find over a hundred in under an hour at the Broken Precipice in gorgond, along with 3 Highmaul Relics and 200 Gorian Artifact Fragments. Using the Telaari Talbuck buff helps a lot.

The best way to farm these BY FAR are Highmaul Skullcrushers in Lost Veil Anzu. I was able to get 300 waystones in an hour - they have almost instant respawn timer (like everything else in Lost Veil) and there is around 10 of them in very small area.

My preferred method of farming these nowadays is just to re-run normal difficulty Bloodmaul Slagmines. I ignore all the bosses and just do a circuit of all the trash, exit and reset the dungeon. I typically get 40 to 50 waystones per run, in about 5 or 6 minutes.

Kor'gall's Hovel in Gorgrond, a cave with entrance at /way 38.52, 67.40
It's like wack-a-mole, there are 11 ogres in the cave, it is never empty, this means, the faster you kill the faster they respawn.
Still works as of today.

In my opinion, the best farming place is Bloodmaul Slag Mines dungeon on normal difficulty. You enter, you run in circle towards Magmolatus, then Roltall, then Slave Watcher Crushto and then go back towards entrance and once you pulled all the trash fast AOE and boom: between 30-50 stones/run (depending you luck). Each run takes 2-3 around min only, because you get pulled back with that chain from the meele ogres. Otherwise it would take 1,5 min max. Anyway, 30 stones+ stones/2 min it's a good deal. After, reset dungeon and do it again until you get the 500 stones required for the achievement. I tried the other farm spot, in Gorgrond, the cave in Kor'gall's Hovel and to get 50 stones it took me around 6-8 min. The distances to run between mobs where too big and too few mobs to get significant loot, not to mention that some mobs don't drop any loot. Also i need to mention that i farmed these stones with a 460+ ilvl shaman in wolf form (higher movement speed) and was killing the mobs with normal hit in one shot. But, the cave was still too slow for me so i ended finishing the farm in the dungeon. It took me half hour to get all 500 stones.

Went to the Slag Mines as a lvl120 mage. Took me only a few minutes to run one circle. WITHOUT any bosses, so I could walk out, reset and do it again.
Got between 20-30 waystones, meaning it takes at least 20 runs for 500 waystones.
Downside was being constantly yanked around and silenced. If that doesn't bother you, Slag Mines is perfect.

Found an interesting place with unusually fast respawn rate for 2 set of mobs:

Gorgrond Stone Maul Arena (38 67)
Enter their main building witch is like a cave name: Kor'gall's Hovel.
Just as soon as you enter, there are one set of Stonemaul Guard at the left, and One set of them at your right.
I did not bother kill other guys as I just kill those two sets which stands less than 50 yards away from each other.
So I Constantly kill them, loot and go to other set of guys.

Drop chances were good, most of the times 3-5 watstones drops for me.
also each set normally drops 1.5 gold
at the end I got 8 green BoE items which u can sell in AH for TMog

My WM were off, there was an ally player there, so I cannot confirm if these fast re-spawn rate were due to that fact or not.
