Talent Point Considerations
Before we get into the distinct talent builds, I want to highlight some of the flexible points available to us in our talent trees, and highlight why we might use one over another.
Jade Bond vs Gift of the Celestials
Both of these talents share the same node, and they impact how we use our selected August Celestial. For raid encounters, we want to use
翡翠羁绊
for when we
青龙下凡
, as the increase to the healing that
玉珑
does through
抚慰之息
turns her into a very strong sustained healing cooldown, while giving us the flexibility to have two discrete
氤氲之雾
ramps while she's healing members of our group. However, a lot of the strength of
翡翠羁绊
comes from its cooldown reduction component, meaning we're going to want to continue casting
旭日东升踢
for the
迷雾之风
events through
鹤形拳
, making these sort of
氤氲之雾
-only cast ramps a bit detrimental to keeping her cooldown low.
To make it clear, we're
not
following the traditional
复苏之雾
buff ramp that we had been following for most of
Dragonflight
, instead relying on the healing of
抚慰之息
to heal our allies while we use mana-efficient
氤氲之雾
casts to heal injured allies. We don't want to waste our mana by doing nothing but casting this spell though, we need to be smart about it.
If you're talented to
朱鹤下凡
for raid encounters, the now-buffed
迷雾之风
events that
赤精
heals your allies with will also reduce his cooldown, making it much easier to invoke him more frequently, especially as you start to add talents that increase those events, like
远古谐律
when there are multiple enemies.
If you can't consistently reduce your Celestial's cooldown in raid encounters to
two minutes
though, you can instead talent into
天神之赐
and
青龙下凡
like we had in
Dragonflight
, as a short-duration cooldown that mainly spreads many short-duration
复苏之雾
buffs by casting cheap
氤氲之雾
casts that help to spread buffs that increase the healing we deal to effected targets.
Uplifted Spirits, Chrysalis, and Dancing Mists
For raid encounters, we need to spend two of our talent points among
起死回生
,
破蛹化蝶
, and
缥缈之雾
to unlock the lower third of our talent tree. Because of previous options taken, we already have the pathing needed to continue throughout the talent tree as we need, so that's not a major consideration.
If we're using
翡翠羁绊
to affect your chosen Celestial, talenting into
起死回生
will allow for more frequent casts of
还魂术
, which can help make your Celestial a more consistent cooldown. When you cast
还魂术
, every player in range will also be healed with a
迷雾之风
, which can lower the cooldown of your Celestial by 10 seconds in a 20-person raid.
缥缈之雾
will increase how many people you have
复苏之雾
active on at a time, which can increase your overall healing, but does reduce the amount each
振奋之雾
event heals for on each target, making this talent a bit of a double-edged sword for keeping your raid group healthy. If you find your average amount of
复苏之雾
buffs on your group low, this talent can help pick it up!
Lastly,
破蛹化蝶
is a talent that reduces the cooldown of
作茧缚命
, which might not find a lot of use in content your group's already comfortable with, like when a given encounter is on farm and there's little risk of your allies dying to misplays.

is one of our important relatively short-duration cooldowns, and has several talents that alter how we approach using it. We want to be using it as close to on cooldown as possible, as it grants us several impactful effects, depending on which talents you do end up taking.
碧愈疾风
has you heal allies around yourself after activating it, while
深彻明晰
waits for it to be fully consumed before granting you a guaranteed
禅意波
charge. And depending on which spell you consume its buff with,
秘术传功
will grant you a sizable increase to one of your Secondary Stats. If you want more uses of

-empowered spells,

gives the buff it grants you another charge—which does make

a little slower to activate, and you should be mindful that only the

is our most important ability, regardless of any build you're in. As such, the list of talents that affect it is quite long, but they're all able to build on each other, making this iteration of the specialization one of my personal favorites to play. The more instances of
复苏之雾
you have in your group, the more players you can heal with
活血术
and its
振奋之雾
talent—though the healing
per target
(using
square-root calculations
) goes down to keep this ability's power from becoming too strong. In order to increase the amount of
复苏之雾
buffs active in your group at a time, several talents help in this regard!
云雾飞散
creates low-duration versions of the buff when we cast
氤氲之雾
or
旭日东升踢
, while
缥缈之雾
introduces some randomness to our total
复苏之雾
count.
生命之雾
automatically places one on your
作茧缚命
target to help take advantage of its innate healing-over-time effect increase while the absorb holds. In a similar vein,
日升雾腾
grants a third charge to the spell and affects the cooldown recovery of
复苏之雾
, with each
旭日东升踢
cast reducing the cooldown of it, while also allowing casts of the spell to reduce the cooldown of
旭日东升踢
itself. And with these casts of

will extend all of your active
复苏之雾
effects (as well as active

effects), while also healing them for a small amount! With all of these
复苏之雾
effects in your group at a time, the healing events from

is talented, giving us more potential casts of our raid-wide cooldown.
But maybe you want to change how
复苏之雾
affects its targets? The choice node of
玉莲灌注

真气宁和
give a healing increase on its targets,
玉莲灌注
is a flat healing increase to the healing we deal to them while also increasing its duration, but
真气宁和
is a much larger increase, but is only active for the first eight seconds of the buff being active, and also prevents an affected
复苏之雾
from leaving the target to seek one that's injured, so it has the potential to create a lot of unintended overhealing while other members of your group are injured. We also have a couple of talents that care about the healing event of
复苏之雾
itself, no matter what the amount they heal for is.
禅意波
has a small chance for each tick to grant you a buff that lets you heal all of your
复苏之雾
-affected allies with even more healing. While this sounds close to what
振奋之雾
does, this ability has none of the square-root reduction on its per-target healing, with the trade-off being that it's not consistent with just this talent. Alongside this buff,
迷雾之峰
also relies on healing events from
复苏之雾
, granting you free
氤氲之雾
healing and its healing increase on affected targets, at no extra mana cost. Going even further,
晨晖之露
increases the healing done by
振奋之雾
, while also making casts of
氤氲之雾
heal your
复苏之雾
-affected allies for a percent of its total healing upfront, while also allowing casts of either spell on
复苏之雾
targets have a small chance to copy the
复苏之雾
buff onto another player. Absolutely perfect for builds that want to cast

, but still maintain some group healing.
But if you want to increase the

grants us a buff whenever we cast it that increases the healing all of our buffs do for a short period.

is our primary external defensive cooldown, used to reduce the damage that a player is under threat with. Most other healers' external defensive is a percent-based reduction in all incoming damage they take, whereas
作茧缚命
places an absorb shield on them instead! While this absorb is active on the affected player, they will also receive a
lot
more healing from healing-over-time effects. The size of the absorb shield is based on our maximum health, as well as our Versatility rating, so it's one of the largest instances of increasing a player's effective hit points possible. There are a few talents that modify what the spell does, whether its on initial application or happens when the absorb is removed, whether through the damage intake being enough to break the absorb's shield, or when the duration runs out.
进食饮水
helps to instantly heal allies we shield by placing two stacks of
金创药
on them—though they trigger when the target is below 80% health, rather than 40%—and grants us 5 stacks of
法力茶
, perfect for adding a little more longevity to our mana pool.
生机迸发
is much simpler; when the shield breaks, nearby allies are healed for a remarkable amount.
The other affecting talents are more specific in what they affect about this spell.
生命之雾
places an instance of
复苏之雾
and
氤氲之雾
on your target. These are the two healing-over-time effects we would want on a low-health target, and the throughput increase they receive while the shield holds makes
作茧缚命
one of the best cooldowns when you're reacting to someone in danger of dying.
破蛹化蝶
simply reduces the cooldown of the spell, while
静心凝雾
increases the initial absorb shield's strength.

simply increases the rate we can consume each stack of

stacks. It's evocative of how we used to gain these stacks before
Legion
removed Chi as a resource, but works with casts of

for one half of the talent and casts of either

for the other half. As a reminder, when you generate a stack of
法力茶
from
any
source, it has a chance equal to our Critical Strike percent chance to generate another stack. With all of these stacks, channeling

talented allows you to turn each stack of this ability into a

small amount of healing in front of you.

together, as a means of grouping both of our core melee-abilities together. The above list of talents are nested to keep them semi-separate, under the banner of the spell they're tied strongly with.
旭日东升踢
can quickly become one of our most important abilities to use on cooldown, even though it may not look that way at first. Picked up in the Monk Class Talent Tree, it has a few talents there we want to pick up to make it even better.
无影步
increases its damage by a significant amount, while
真气波
can send out a bolt toward an enemy when you cast this ability.
旭日东升踢
has a lot of its healing power assigned to how it interacts with
复苏之雾
. Mentioned in its section above,
旭日东升踢
can do a lot to increase the amount of this buff active in our group.
云雾飞散
creates new
复苏之雾
buffs at a shorter duration, while casts of it lower the cooldown of the base ability through
日升雾腾
and increases the duration of ones that are active in your group thanks to
升腾迷雾
. Available to every Mistweaver, regardless of which talent build they're running, is
禅院教诲
, a passive ability that allows additional strikes of
幻灭踢
, alongside its initial one, to possibly reset

.
If indirect healing increases aren't something that interest you, there are a few talents that translate each cast of
旭日东升踢
into direct healing. The earliest option in our talent tree is
鹤形拳
, which heals two different allies with an event of our Mastery,
迷雾之风
, every time we cast this spell. This adds on nicely to when
朱鹤下凡
is active, as he does the same thing when you cast
旭日东升踢
. An even more direct way of having
旭日东升踢
heal your allies is through the
谆谆古训
talent. While this effect is active, the damage from
旭日东升踢
is immediately converted into healing for nearby allies, alongside damage from
猛虎掌
and
幻灭踢
. To activate, we need to use
碧火踏
or
雷光聚神茶
. While standing in its ground effect—and for ten seconds after leaving it—we can have the effect of
觉醒碧火
active, if talented into them. This ability allows every
猛虎掌
to strike its target twice, allowing for quicker
禅院教诲
generation; for each instance of
幻灭踢
to cleave onto nearby enemies, and allows
神鹤引项踢
to heal nearby allies based on the damage it deals. Perfect for when there are many enemies grouped together!
And when melee is particularly dangerous during encounters, or when you can experience significant downtime from melee—whether through mechanics or from the boss running away—we can talent into
疾风呼啸踢
as a replacement for
旭日东升踢
to give us a ranged alternative that hooks into every talent and ability that hooks into
旭日东升踢
already! This is a ranged replacement that requires no enemies in its cone of effect, and that buffs the healing of all instances of
复苏之雾
for a very brief moment, regardless of enemies hit.

Mistweavers have two of the four August Celestials of Pandaria that we can invoke for their aid during combat. We can choose to either

, depending on whichever is more appealing to us. Both of them revolve around casting
氤氲之雾
on our group for the
氤氲之息
effect from
天神融合
, though the method they go about this is vastly different. Choosing to
青龙下凡
reduces the mana cost of
氤氲之雾
by half, making it an extremely efficient spell. And although its cast time hasn't been reduced, talenting into
祈求者之愉
increases our Haste by 20% for almost the entire duration of whichever Celestial we invoke. If you choose to
朱鹤下凡
instead, your melee abilities' events grant you stacks of
朱鹤下凡
, which reduce the mana cost and cast time of your next
氤氲之雾
, allowing you to weave casts of it between your damaging abilities. Because he only cares about the number of events, rather than casting the abiltiies themselves, when
觉醒碧火
cleaves
幻灭踢
onto enemies, you gain stacks quickly.
Below
天神融合
is the choice node between
翡翠羁绊
and
天神之赐
. Both of these talents reduce the cooldown of whichever Celestial you've chosen to invoke, but through different means. While
天神之赐
reduces the cooldown by a static two minutes, it also reduces the duration of your chosen Celestial by around half. The cooldown reduction of
翡翠羁绊
is more conditional to the number of
迷雾之风
events you're able to do; even so, it also increases the healing that our chosen Celestial themself does! The
迷雾之风
events from Chi-Ji and the
抚慰之息
healing from Yu'lon are typically not a major part of their healing, but with their original duration being as long as it is, the
抚慰之息
events from Chi-Ji can help reduce his cooldown by a significant amount on his own.

is located in the Monk Class Talent Tree, it's been a key part of Mistweaver's identity as a specialization since its inception. It's a channeled ability that heals a targeted ally, and allows you to heal them with
活血术
or
氤氲之雾
without needing to wait for their cast times to complete. Still from the Monk Class Talent Tree, there are a couple
very
important increases to its usability that can be found.
飘忽迷雾
gives you
and
your current target a small reduction from all damage, while
召唤青龙雕像
allows you to place a statue that channels its own
抚慰之雾
beam on your target, until it runs out. While this spell seems like a rigid ability, talenting into
凝望平和
allows you to move it
very
freely in your group. While it increases the duration by 50%, it also allows you to cast
活血术
and
氤氲之雾
on
any
target at instant speed, using the remaining duration of your current channel as the basis for this new channel. And because you started a new channel, the beam from
召唤青龙雕像
also moves, but this one refreshes its duration. If that weren't enough strength in
凝望平和
's favor, it also has a small overheal-redistribution effect.
You can increase the healing
抚慰之雾
does by talenting into
谐唱
as a capstone ability. This takes the healing your channel
just
did and heals a nearby ally for a smaller percent of that amount. An underused talent in raid and dungeon encounters,
平静愈合
is an option that lets you increase the healing your
氤氲之雾
and
复苏之雾
effects have on your active target, if there's a situation where you need to focus all of your healing on a single target.

Especially for Kyrian Fistweavers, the value of Spirit of the Crane is sorely overlooked. Did some testing with it in Sanctum of Domination, not a single time did I dip below 50% mana with doing a pure Fistweaving rotation, as well as pumping heals. Since we take Chi-Ji now instead of RJW, our burst mana problems went out the window. Less consist mana needed AND we don't need the mana reduction for Yu'lon as we no longer have her. Mana tea isn't all that it's cracked up to be anymore, never was really. Throw the numbers at me left and right if you want to, but the value you get from Spirit outweighs it. The fact that it's passive mana back that you can directly control through doing a proper Fistweaving rotation via managing your Teachings of the Monastery stacks really makes it easier as well as more effecient. Mana Tea is -ONLY- better if you used it for mana intensive bursts on its exact CD. Like come on guys, that's not how raid timers work. It's not going to line up perfectly and then you have to wait to use it. Just take Spirit for actual mana efficiency. So tired of seeing this, been advocating for this to be more widely accepted since 8.3.

Hello guys. Im back for 9.2. I have question is there is avaiable range healing build for MW? I dont like playing as range and its not fun for me yet I really like healing as monk. And advices?

umm, why is the guide recommending revival instead of Restoral? Restoral is the same thing as revival but can be casted while stunned, seems to me like it would be the better option and does the exact same thing?

I feel this class writer is doing a huge disservice to the monk community by not including a non-fistweaving build in here. Do not tell me it's not viable because it is, especially in raiding. Not everyone wants to feel like their class HAS to get in melee and do some crazy good DPS or they are garbage. It is disconcerting how the healing community has drifted toward this DPS first ideology. While I get it for the very top tier that pushes wicked high M+ keys, that is a fractional part of the community. This comment goes to the Holy Pally writers as well.

I really dislike that there is no explanation written for this new 10.0.7 build. It's for me very questionable why we don't go for 5 targets sheilun or faeline (that helped us keeping great uptime on our ancient teachings healing). This seems very limiting - mw already struggles with aoe healing with this builds as we can only vivify cleave where others have arsenal of spells and we limit ourselves again to 3 targets. Raid wise it doest make much sense especially when vivify cleave is still weak as you loose half of REMs before you cast 2nd vivify and eveythibg is already topped by better aoe healers like hpriest ...

I have to be honest, this wowhead guide is not very good. Poor talent choices and trinket rankings are not correct either. For the sake of new monks we should probably find a new writer. In the meantime unquestionably epic has an amazing guide and icyveins is far more accurate.

I am personally sick and tired of the Fist weaver crap.. It's horrible. I am glad they nerfed the heck out of the DMG heals do... I honestly refuse to bring a Fistweaver in my M+ groups.. Worst heals in the game.

I feel like for *most* people who would need to read this guide, choosing the buffed life cocoon over energizing brew is the way to go. I hardly believe they're running out of mana in keys under 12.
