How to Play Havoc Demon Hunter

Avoid Fury Waste: Fury is our resource typically used for spending on single-target for 混乱打击, while also trying to maintain enough Fury to cast 刃舞 on cooldown. The exception to this can be storing some Fury before 眼棱 comes off cooldown, in order to have high Fury for your burst window.

Keep Abilities on cooldown: A large portion of damage comes from keeping abilities such as 刃舞, 复仇回避, 眼棱, and 精华破碎 on near-constant cooldown (i.e. using them frequently), while spending Fury during downtime.

Fel-Scarred is relatively simple in that there isn’t much room to swap around talents. This means that your opener will usually stay the same, regardless of what build you’re running with this Hero Talent.

It is relatively easy to forget the first 毁灭 cast after the first 眼棱 in the combo, however not casting this Annihilation before casting 恶魔变形 will cost you a 魔涌.

Tab-targeting to apply 灼烧之伤 as you enter packs is important. Alternatively, you can cast a 投掷利刃 while entering a pull before you get to the mobs.

Resets from Demon Hunter Havoc 11.0 Class Set 4pc on 死亡横扫 can be used as your next global, before continuing the opener. If playing 精华破碎, the reset can be used after 精华破碎, but before 恶魔变形.

复仇回避 is not on the global cooldown, which is why it allows you to cast it briefly before 恶魔变形. Used properly, this will cancel the movement of the backflip.

收割者战刃 can be cast again in the opener if you generate another cast, however this is based on RNG of Soul spawns.

收割者战刃 does not have a significant enough impact from either 收割者印记 or 奥达奇之怒 in single-target to be worth holding 刃舞 or 死亡横扫 for, in order to have a specific combo. 收割者战刃 can be cast on cooldown, and it's fine if either 混乱打击 or 刃舞 is first in the enhanced ability rotation.

Movement is the major differentiating factor when comparing current Havoc Demon Hunter gameplay when to other classes. This makes getting comfortable with and planning around utilizing 邪能冲撞 and 复仇回避 extremely important. Backing away from your target before your global comes up for 邪能冲撞 will cause you to end closer to your target, and have less issues with downtime. For 复仇回避, very often you can turn around before flipping or stepping through your target as you cast it, to minimize downtime. Once you leave your target's range, 邪能之刃 can also be used to cancel 复仇回避.

With 冲撞惯性, you will want to have 献祭光环 off cooldown and available when you come up on your burst windows, such as 眼棱 and 精华破碎, to get the 冲撞惯性 damage amplification effect before you go for your burst.

Fel-Scarred does not utilize the typical 精华破碎 combo that uses 死亡横扫, 恶魔变形, 死亡横扫 as a casting order. This is due to 燃烧剑刃 increasing the value of 毁灭 too much for the cast of 恶魔变形 as a dead global to be a DPS gain, during the 80% damage increase debuff.

Fel-Scarred wants to hold 烈焰咒符, to sync it and use prior to every 眼棱 window for the 苦难修行 Mastery buff.

战刃风暴 is such a short cooldown that it's simply pressed on cooldown, however placement of it as a ground effect is important if mobs are moving. Try to place it in their path, rather than behind them.

For the 眼棱 combo on AoE, you do swap the order of 邪能冲撞 and 复仇回避 to buff 眼棱 with 冲撞惯性, due to higher AoE value.

Hey there, thanks for the very nice guide! I just have 2 small questions regarding the rotation/priority list:
For the Demonic build: is it possible that Eye Beam IF talented in Blind Fury is missing in the complex priority list? Should it be between Fel Barrage (1) and Death Sweep (2)?
For the Nemesis build: is there a reason Death Sweep (6) is prioritized over Eye Beam (7) in the opener, but Eye Beam (4) over Death Sweep (5) in the simple rotation?

Please, for the love of everything fel: link the normal abilities with their metamorphosis replacements, since I have to wait 4 minutes to transform again to look for the relevant skills.

In case they don’t: Death Sweep and Annihilation are replacement skills for basic abilities that do the same thing for less damage. You won’t find them in your skills tab unless you are in Metamorphosis form actively. There is no way in-game to preview these abilities.

Annihilation replaces Chaos Strike. Death Sweep replaces Blade Dance.

There may be other replacement skills, but I’ve only just hit 60, and still learning myself.

Here's a tip that should be in the guide for keyed M+ dungeons - especially those with a pack of mobs close by the start of the dungeon:

At the start (before the key is placed), if you cast 恶魔变形 (again, before the key for the dungeon is placed in), your cooldown is reset once the key is placed. This gives you about 15-20 seconds of Meta free depending on how close the mobs are. For Plaguefall this isn't worth doing as it takes 10 seconds for the pull timer, plus about 10 seconds to get to the first mob, but the rest of the dungeons it's certainly a boost. Granted you wont have any fury for it to start, but still a nice way to begin a dungeon.

Hi, great guide! I have a question regarding the rotation after selecting Talents. Shouldn't it show using Fel Rush before using The Hunt and Essence Break, in order to gain more damage from the Momentum buff? Also, would you not want to cast Eye before using Meta, since Meta resets Eye Beam?

I noticed that the 'Havoc Demon Hunter Single Target Rotation and Priority' section is missing the priority for The Hunt (if talented). It appears this is the only section missing the spell.
