Survival and exotic pets

Survival currently is as tied to their pet as Beast Mastery. It would be fantastic to have the ability to obtain all the pet families. Is there a reason why not?

The reason why you can not tame exotic pets as Survival is because Beast Mastery is the only spec that can do so. It has been that way since at least MOP.

I was wondering why there isn't a Mechanical bear as a combat pet as of yet. I have collected most of the combat pets and was sad to see there wasn't a Mechanical bear on the list. Hopefully, in BFA they might add one to the list.

Although BFA will come with a lot more pet utilization for Survival we don't specialize in using it. Most of BM's damage and spells revolve around their pet and without their pet they can't do much any damage. Survival on the other hand only uses their pet mostly for focus regen and without it we could still do fairly well until we run out of focus.
