Ironforge
Stormwind
The Exodar
Horde:
Orgrimmar
Silvermoon City

Torches, Torches, Torches!
The
Master Fire Eater
(A) or
Master Flame Eater
(H) located near the bonfire offers a two-part quest chain which unlocks two daily quests that can be completed for gold as well as
Burning Blossom
. The first quest is
Torch Tossing
(
Alliance
|
Horde
), for which you are given
Practice Torches
that you must aim and throw at a series of braziers found nearby the questgiver. A brazier is only considered an active target when it has an arrow above it that looks like a
Hunter's Mark
; non-marked braziers will not count towards the quest objective. When you use the torch you will be given a small targeting circle that you must place over an active brazier and click to toss. You are given x seconds to hit 8 targets, and if you are successful you are awarded with
Burning Blossom
x5 and gold (and experience, if you are lower than 70).
Once you have completed the first quest, the NPC will then offer you
Torch Catching
(
Alliance
|
Horde
). For this quest, you must light the
Unlit Torches
at the bonfire, which will then toss a flaming torch into the air. You have to follow the shadow of the torch, and then wait where it will land to "catch" it. If you miss, but are near where it lands you will suffer fire damage which can add up pretty quick if you're not yet used to the quest. When you catch the torch, there will be a very short delay before you will automatically toss it back up into the air, only this time it will travel a much shorter distance. You must "catch" the torch four times in a row to complete the quest, and you will be rewarded with
Juggling Torch
x5 and
Burning Blossom
x5.
Once you have completed both of these quests,
repeatable daily quest
version of both quests become available, aptly titled
More Torch Tossing
(
Alliance
|
Horde
) and
More Torch Catching
(
Alliance
|
Horde
). Completing each quest, daily, will award
Burning Blossom
x5 however they are a bit more challenging (this time requiring hitting 20 braziers, and catching 10 torches.)
Summer Scorchlings - No this isn't where you get the pet :(
For Alliance players, the
Festival Loremaster
located near a major city's bonfire gives a quest called
Incense for the Summer Scorchlings
which asks you to go visit a
Scorchling
, found near a
Flame Keeper
, at a fire outside any city. For Horde players, the
Festival Talespinner
offers
Incense for the Festival Scorchlings
which is essentially the same quest.
To complete this objective, simply go outside whichever city you received the quest and find the nearest bonfire, and speak to the Scorchling to complete the quest. You can complete this quest at basically any of your faction's fires, it doesn't matter which one. The quest is ridiculously easy and awards only single
Burning Blossom
, but the short event following completion is quite a treat.

Twilight Whatzits? A-who-ne?
At each major city capital camp there is an
Earthen Ring Elder
representing the faction neutral Earthen Ring, an organization of shaman similar to the druids'
Cenarion Circle
. The Elder will offers a short quest chain starting with
Unusual Activity
, for which you must travel to the Zoram Strand of
Ashenvale
and slay level 20+
Twilight Firesworn
until the
Twilight Correspondence
drops. Once you receive it, use the
Totemic Beacon
to summon an
Earthen Ring Guide
to complete the quest.
The Guide will then give you the next part of the quest,
An Innocent Disguise
for which you are given an orb that changes you into a Crawler for three minutes. In your new disguise, you must travel northwest of the entrance of Blackfathom Depths - you will know you're going the right way if you periodically find blue-flamed torches, and eventually a small encampment on the shore. While disguised, witness the exchange between the naga and the
Ice Caller Briatha
until the quest completes. When it is finished, you can move out of range of the mobs and cancel the disguise, and summon the
Earthen Ring Guide
once again. This time, upon relaying the information, the guide will give you the quest
Inform the Elder
, requesting that you return to an
Earthen Ring Elder
and report your findings.
Once you have returned to an
Earthen Ring Elder
, the quest chain will complete and either one or two quests will become available, depending on your level. For characters level 22 and above, a
repeatable daily quest
will open up. The quest is called
Striking Back
, and depending on your level range you will be given a single objective at a location in Azeroth or Outland.
Striking Back
(Level 22) - This quest has you summon and kill a
Frostwave Lieutenant
from an Ice Stone located at the Zoram Strand,
Ashenvale
. Awards
Burning Blossom
x10 and
3 silver 50 copper
.
Striking Back
(Level 32) - This quest has you summon and kill a
Hailstone Lieutenant
from an Ice Stone at Ethel Rethor,
Desolace
. Awards
Burning Blossom
x10 and
8 silver
.
Striking Back
(Level 43) - This quest has you summon and kill a
Chillwind Lieutenant
from an Ice Stone in
Stranglethorn Vale
.
Desolace
. Awards
Burning Blossom
x10 and
15 silver
.
Striking Back
(Level 51) - This quest has you summon and kill a
Frigid Lieutenant
from an Ice Stone in the northwestern part of
Searing Gorge
. Awards
Burning Blossom
x10 and
19 silver
.
Striking Back
(Level 60) - This quest has you summon and kill a
Glacial Lieutenant
from an Ice Stone at Twilight's Run,
Silithus
. Awards
Burning Blossom
x10 and
23 silver
.
Striking Back
(Level 67) - This quest has you summon and kill a
Glacial Templar
from an Ice Stone near the Dark Portal, in
Hellfire Peninsula
. Awards
Burning Blossom
x10 and
94 silver
.
If you character is
level 65 or higher
, the
Earthen Ring Elder
will offer a second quest,
Ahune, the Frost Lord
. This quest asks you to travel to the
Slave Pens
in
Zangarmarsh
in search of
Numa Cloudsister
, who is located right inside the instance. This quest, and it's follow-up, are
not actually required
to summon Ahune! You can summon Ahune by going straight to Luma Skymother, without having completed any other Midsummer quest.
When you turn in that quest she will give the quest
Ahune is Here!
and ask that you find
Luma Skymother
, who is located a bit further into the instance. Finally, Luma will give you the quest
Summon Ahune
, granting you an
Earthen Ring Magma Totem
allowing you to (you guessed it) summon
Ahune <The Frost Lord>
. Use the totem at the Ice Stone located just beyond Luma and defeat Ahune to complete the quest, which awards
4 gold 40 silver
and experience (or an additional
7 gold 59 silver
at level 70). The Ice Stone is located before the first boss of the instance, so essentially you could repeatedly farm the encounter provided you have enough players to keep summoning, without ever having to kill a normal boss.
If this is your first time killing Ahune, he will drop an item called
Shards of Ahune
which starts the quest
Shards of Ahune
. Accept the quest and bring the shard to
Luma Skymother
, and she will reward you with
Burning Blossom
x20 and your choice of a unique tabard: the
Tabard of Summer Skies
or the
Tabard of Summer Flame
. You can only complete this quest
once
, so you
will not
be able to receive both tabards on the same character (well, not until next year at least)! The quest to summon Ahune can only be completed once per day, per person. Which means that if you have a five person party, each person can complete the quest to summon him one time (provided you didn't actually save yourself to the Heroic) and you could potentially do five runs, one after another. Even if you have killed the boss, as long as at least one person in your party is able to take the quest and summon him you'll have yet another chance at some of the
phat loot
he drops!

Festival Bonfires
There are a total of 62 festival bonfires spread throughout Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, and Outland - 32 for the Alliance and 30 for the Horde. If you visit one of your faction's bonfires, you can speak to the nearby
Flame Keeper
to
Honor the Flame
, which will reward you with
Burning Blossom
x5 and
5 gold 95 silver
at level 70. If you visit one of the opposing faction's bonfires, you can right-click to
Desecrate this Fire!
, which will extinguish the flame and will reward
Burning Blossom
x10 and
11 gold 99 silver
at level 70. The bonfires in the major cities do NOT pertain to these quests. Not only does visiting these fires grant a
ton
of money for level 70 characters, it is also extremely good experience for pre-70 characters (the experience gain will typically scale according to your level)! Considering the great experience for little effort and the character buffs detailed further below, this is a great opportunity for some easy experience! :)
As a Horde player at level 70, if you visit every bonfire you will gain a total of
178 gold 50 silver
for the Horde bonfires and
383 gold 68 silver
for the Alliance bonfires (
562 gold 18 silver
total).
As an Alliance player at level 70, if you visit every bonfire you will gain a total of
190 gold 40 silver
for the Alliance bonfires and
359 gold 70 silver
for the Horde bonfires (
550 gold 10 silver
total).

In addition to awarding easy gold and
Burning Blossom
, there are a number of player buffs that are available from the various festival fire locations. At each bonfire you will find a Ribbon Pole, which creates a colorful streamer to your hand and causes your character to twirl very quickly (such as the effect of
Whirlwind
). In addition to being rather hilarious, you will gain the
Ribbon Dance
buff which increases experience gain by 10% for 3 minutes, stacking 3 more minutes on for every 3 seconds you remain twirling at the Ribbon Pole. The buff stacks up to a one hour duration (after 1 minute of twirling) and can stack with rested experience, so get it while it's hot! If a player throws a
Burning Blossom
into a festival fire, all surrounding players will gain the
Fire Festival Fury
buff, granting +3% physical/spell critical strike and reflecting Fire damage to attackers for 1 hour, and scales with your player level. As if that wasn't enough, if you happen to be at a festival flame that has been extinguished and no longer burns, tossing a
Burning Blossom
into it will grant a zone-wide buff
Bonfire's Blessing
which gives your faction's players a 30% chance to inflict 10 Fire damage on any melee, ranged, or spell attack, increasing by 10 Fire damage per level.

Example Experience! (Incomplete, tell me your findings!)
On a level 62 character, you will gain
1 gold 40 silver
+
5000
experience for "honoring" a friendly fire, and
2 gold 70 silver
+
10050
experience for "desecrating" an enemy fire.
On a level 63 character, you will gain
1 gold 50 silver
+
5250
experience for "honoring" a friendly fire, and
2 gold 90 silver
+
10400
experience for "desecrating" an enemy fire.
On a level 68 character, you will gain
2 gold
+
6000
experience for "honoring" a friendly fire, and
3 gold 90 silver
+
12000
experience for "desecrating" an enemy fire.
On a level 69 character, you will gain
4 gold 10 silver
+
12300
experience for "desecrating" an enemy fire.
On a level 70 character, you will gain
5 gold 95 silver
for "honoring" a friendly fire, and
11 gold 99 silver
for "desecrating" an enemy fire.
Mission Impossible (
Improbable
on a PVE server!)
If you couldn't get enough of the bonfires spread throughout the world and like a challenge, players
level 51 or above
can dare to venture into the opposing faction's capital cities in an attempt to
steal
their flames! How exactly you "steal" fire is beyond me, but we can shove pack animals, an entire arsenal of fine weaponry, and gallons upon gallons of potions in 5 little bags on our person - so who am I to question the game's logic? Anyway, you can sneak into the enemy territory and attempt to snatch their flame, which is similar to extinguishing an enemy bonfire, only it does automatically put the item into your inventory, so make sure you have bagspace! This item will start a quest, which you really do not need to accept until you are ready to turn it in (you should probably be more focused on getting out of there, anyway). Alliance can turn these quests in to the
Festival Loremaster
, and Horde to the
Festival Talespinner
, located near any main city's bonfire (as well as in
Shattrath
).
There are four flames for each faction, one for every major capital city. They are not heavily guarded, and Festival-related NPCs will not attack you, but you should be wary of any surrounding guards and/or enemy players. The actual "looting" of the flame does not entirely break on damage but will suffer the same knock-back as any spell, so don't expect to successfully get the cast off if you are under attack (it is similar to casting your
Hearthstone
). It is possible to make these treks rather painless and easy, though as a Horde player every city I ventured into I managed to aggro a plethora of guards that would spawn endlessly out of thin air. Be careful.

Quick F.A.Q.
1. How many daily quests are there?
Technically? Three
or
four, depending on your level. There is the torch tossing quest, the torch catching quest, your level range's 'Striking Back' quest, and the quest to summon Ahune (if you are high enough).
2. What do I do with all of these
Burning Blossom
?
Use them to buy cool stuff! There is a
Midsummer Merchant
located near each major city's festival fire that sells a variety of nifty items in exchange for
Burning Blossom
, including the following permanent items:
Mantle of the Fire Festival
- 100
Burning Blossom
Vestment of Summer
- 100
Burning Blossom
Sandals of Summer
- 200
Burning Blossom
Brazier of Dancing Flames
- 350
Burning Blossom
Captured Flame
- 350
Burning Blossom
She also sells the following, limited duration consumables:
Elderberry Pie
- 5
Burning Blossom
Fire-toasted Bun
- 5
Burning Blossom
Midsummer Sausage
- 5
Burning Blossom
Toasted Smorc
- 5
Burning Blossom
Fiery Festival Brew
- 2
Burning Blossom
Handful of Summer Petals
- 2
Burning Blossom
And finally, he following bag of ingredients:
Bag of Smorc Ingredients
- 5
Burning Blossom
3. Yeah, okay, cute - shoes that make my feet catch fire. Bring on the epics!
While not actually a question, it's definitely worth reiterating for some of the higher level players out there that
Ahune
is out there! He drops a pretty nice arsenal of
epic-quality loot
, including but not limited to a new enchant (
Deathfrost
),
one of the coolest looking weapons
in the game, and a rad new
non-combat pet
. Remember, he can only be summoned once per day per character - so good luck!
I will update this as the need arises. Have fun!

Some quests and NPCs listed above are still pending updates and corrections in the database, as the data comes in. You can help out by using the
Wowhead Client
and submitting fresh data! The in-game addon also provides coordinate display that can be accessed by typing
/wl maploc
for world map coords, and can output your current location with the
/wl loc
commnnd, which makes finding those festival fires much easier and helps us out, at the same time!
Anyway, what new data doesn't sort out, I'll be fixing today (probably!) - in the meantime, sleep!

Mmm, I'm still new to WoW, and it's a shame my main is only at lvl 40. I won't be able to get as much out of this MFF as other players. That Deathfrost looks like something I could use along with my Enchanting too...
Nonetheless, great guide, and I will be using this as a reference for all of the lower-lvl quests. Awesome work! =)
