Honestly, i don't see them adding 3000 new quests in the new expansion, so i'm pretty sure its going to be retroactive although at this point in time, i don't think Blue have confirmed anything like that.

Many achievements are retroactive. Boss kills will not be since they do not currently track this but things like quests are.

This achievement is impossible to complete with our current content - it will require WotLK quests.

To Squirldude, this only counts quests that can be completed ONLY ONCE. There are about 2.5k such quests on each side. Thus, although you can set yourself up for attaining this quickly in WotLK, you cannot set yourself up for attaining it at launch.

We are all forgetting something that we mostly do all the time.....

Daily Quests are repeatable no matter what so yes 3k quest is possible and their adding so many more quests than you can imagine :P

To see how difficult this might be, let's look at a real example:

When I copied over to the 3.0.2 PTR, I had completed 1,996 quests. I had completed Loremaster of Outland (595 quests), 508/715 of Loremaster of Kalimdor, 508/580 of Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms, and I hadn't touched any of the 825 quests required for Loremaster of Northrend. (I'm not certain how to account for my 385 extra quests, except that I may have done more than the minimum number of Outland quests, and I've probably completed some quests that do not count toward any of the Loremaster achievements.)

In my case, I'll have my "The Seeker" title 118 quests before I complete The Loremaster, so this seems reasonably within reach for me once the expansion comes out, but not until.

The seasonal quest "Candy Bucket" in each inn counts towards the 3000 quests completed.
I'm guessing that it would work for other seasonal events as well.

The best way to do this quest would be probably to track lowbie quests, and then just go through each zone, doing every quest you come across. Time consuming, yes, but you will get the quest done this way. At 70, it'll be easy to do the quests, because you'll have a 100% mount, and be able to one shot most or all of the quest monsters. Good luck to everyone trying to get this!

Seems to be a somewhat buggy counter. When I did the faint necrotic crystal quest last night my count jumped from 2414 to 2417. When I logged back in this morning it was back down to 2414. When I did yet another quest it jumped back up to 2418.

So, just a heads up, the counter may be off at times.

The reason the counter jumps sometimes is that some chain quests have a type of quest before them that requires you to talk to the quest giver, if you do not complete that quest, but do however complete the followup, you get credit for both.

Example:

NPC A offers a quest to go talk to NPC B.

You do not grab this quest.

NPC B offers a quest to go do something.

You grab this quest and upon completion your quest counter increases by 2 (sometimes even 3) instead of 1 , because the games makes you complete the quest that NPC A offered but you did not take.

As of 2/11 i have 2653 quests completed.
Alliance, Night Elf, Warrior - Blacksmithing and Mining.
Haven't done the Centaur Desolace quests, AQ scepter quest, AQ20/AQ40 gear quests and end boss turn ins for AQ20, AQ40, BWL, ZG, Maggy, ZA, The Eye. Also not finished with BT and MH attunement quests.

So im guessing it is possible to each 2700 quests pre Wrath.

i did 2636 quests, haven't done some centaur quest-rep, illidan-chain, aq20-40 gear qu, MH, have done ZG all quests and have done AQ scepter qu exept bang the gong(i'll do it on 7 november)...so i don't thing that it's realy to complete 2700 quests before wotlk

This may very well be a bug, but I just completed the daily quest "The Air Strikes Must Continue" (not the first time, I've done it dozens of times on the same character), and it jumped my counter up from 2120/3000 to 2121/3000.

The Pylon quests in Un'Goro Crater will award you with six quests towards this achievement. Completing any of the six pylon quests will give you credit for all six.

I'm currently on 2623 and still have around 30 left in quest zones/dungeons

Have done
-all tier 2.5 AQ40 quests
-all AQ20 set quests
-all ZG set quests
-all TBC attunement quest chains
-all AQ40 opening quest chain except Bang the Gong!
-7/8 tier 3 quests

haven't even stepped into:

-Tier 0.5 dungeon set quest-line (29 quests)
-Wintersaber quests
-Magram/Gelkis quests
-Children's week quests

Still have some seasonal left off Midsummer and Honoring the Elders and Nefarian/Cthun/Kael heads

So 2700 is quite possible especially if you're LW-er or BS-er

At 2769 as of 11/11/08 Gnome Mage with Tailoring/Enchanting. So no quests from professions. Haven't done any Naxx quests, nearly done with Aq40 scepter line, Missing 1 Aq20 Weapon Quest. and currently I have 3 quests in my log that I haven't done, Aside from the Aq40 line....so 2800 MIGHT be possible.

But my statistics say i've done 2896 quests, but the achievement says 2769....who knows?

i got this a few days ago, i was on ~2600 before installing lich king and i got this afetr about 30 quests in icecrown (having quested out borean, howling, grizzly, zul and dragonblight for the loremasters)

so i'd say theres about 800+ "easily found" quests in nothrend currently

not too difficult n achivement if you take the time to go into old world for low level stuff

I think that the title is probably a reference to... well... the act of questing.
To complete 3000 quest you should have sought after: (numbers are mostly invented, just to point out that they're huge)

The location of at least 800 friendly npc to turn in the quest, if you completed mostly non-chain quests they will be many more. (multiple quest that leads to the same npc count just for one since you've already found him :D )
The location of at least 10 000 objects (item to collect, object on which you have to do something, like plant a seed)
20-30 000 normal npc to slain.
1500 elite npc to slain. (for dungeon quests or group quests)
A lot of places where you have to use the quest item (given or found) to complete the quest.
A lot of places that questgivers ask you to reach to see what happens there, or just to activate an event.

I think that if you've sought after so many things, you earn without doubt the honor to be called a "seeker".

The number of character inside novels, movies and videogames but also real people, especially musicians, to which this title could be referring directly or indirectly is such big that, if blizzard REALLY wanted to make it a reference, it's quite impossible to determine to who it actually refers.

Actually daily's DO NOT count in any way toward this achievement, ever. but quests completed in dungeons which do not come under the loremaster achievement do, and i have found that loremaster in specific areas is not _every_ quest in the area just most of them. i am 170 quests from loremaster in E kingdoms and 206 in kalimdor, and have done outland and 5 of the areas in WOTLK and i am only 20 quests away from completing this.

"The Seeker" is possibly a reference to one of two things:

"The Seeker" by The Who. The lyrics literally suggest the act of questing by searching low and high as anyone would have had to do trying to achieve 3000 quests.
"The Seeker" a film about a boy who discovers he is a warrior of light set out to seek the power of light over dark. He embarks on a quest to dislocate six signs in order to gain this power.

Clearly a fitting title as such the culture around us suggests.

I'm very close to having "The Seeker" finished. I JUST finished Loremaster... I can't decide which I would like to display. I guess "The Seeker" is harder to achieve than Loremaster, and therefore it should carry more prestige. I just wish Blizzard would let us display both!

I have no idea where else to post this...have one on the forums on worldofwarcraft.com under bug report and customer service.

So here is my problem, on the 15th of Jan I had 2374 quests completed on this achievement. As of the 19th (day before the patch) I had 2321 completed. How did I loose 53 quests. I have been tracking my quests completed since the 7th of December and it has been tracking properly. I am quite confused and irritated. Someone please help!

Confirming that the ''Lunar Festival'' event counts for this achievement and is a great way to get 75 quests done towards this, i've visited several elders and seen the counter go up.

Interestingly, during the Lunar Festival you can repeat Elder quests which you've done the year before, and some of the Elders were actually counting as +2 quests in this achievement for me. Adding the fact that the festival achievements were already retroactively counted, revisiting these Elders actually counted as a total of +3 quests done.

I just noticed that my quest counter has dropped by about 40 or 50. I'm running five accounts and I had all above 1500 quest before the beginning of this year. Today I started the Lunar Festival quests and I noticed they were all BELOW 1500.

For example, one of my characters shows having gained the 1500 quest acheivement on Dec 26, 2008 but shows a current quest count of only 1466. Anybody know what is going on here?

If anyone would like to check for themselves:
Go to the Armory and lookup Katarinya on Moon Guard. Check the Quest Acheivements. You will see that she completed the 1500 Quest Acheivement on 12-26-08. Next check the 2000 Acheivement today (2 Feb 2009) and you can see her current number of quests is listed as 1466 -- 34 less than in December and thats after an evening of doing Lunar Fest quests.

This morning I got this from a GM via out-of-game email: "Questing will cause the counter to go back to where it was, we have been tracking reports of this, and this seems to be the same with others, it will appear to go back, but after questing it will show the correct ammount."

Has anyone else seen this happen? That is, have your quests come back from the dead?

Well, I've been watching my counter closely as I run my five main characters through the Lunar Fest Elders Quests and occasionally one will get double credit for a coin quest. I can see no correlation to anything though -- doesn't happen to all five on the same quest, doesn't seem relate to having done the quest last year, doesn't seem to matter if I have a clean UI or not.

I guess this was what the GM was talking about.

Can confirm as of 2/28/09 that the counters for the quest completed achievements are bugged. My fiance and I are using refer-a-friend 3x xp to level some alts. We're on our 3rd pair of alts and we've frequently noticed that one or the other of us will get one of the achievements in this string before the other, despite the fact that we never play without each other and always do the same quests. Typically our pairs are the same class, and if they aren't we skip class quests.

Just now I turned in a quest in the Barrens and got the 50 quests achievement, she turned it in and was at only 48/50.

This is one of the two hardest quest achievements alongside The Loremaster (Alliance Version).

If you're going for The Loremaster, chances are you'll get close, if not past, the 3000 quest mark. Of the two titles, I believe Loremaster is tougher simply because you have to do quests in almost every zone (excluding old world zones, just continents there). This one you can get closer to by knocking out all the low level quests in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms and then some in Northrend and Outland, while for Loremaster you have to do a considerable amount of the harder quests in Northrend.

Take your pick though.

If you're going for this achievement or Loremaster of Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms, do all the quests in all of your faction's first starting zones and secondary zones.
Horde: Durotar, The Barrens, Eversong Woods, Tirisfal Glades, Silverpine Forest, Mulgore, Ghostlands
Alliance: Teldrassil, Darkshore, Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, Westfall, Azuremyst Isle, Bloodmyst Isle

You won't be able to do the quests in starting >areas< if you aren't the right class, but you'll be able to breeze through the others. This will get you fast credits and reputation with your faction's cities.

Here's something that's been bothering me for a little while. I've been working on this achievement, and I'm currently at 2710 quests completed.
Now, when I checked this morning, it said I had 2708 quests done.
I hop to Burning Steppes, grab a quest, check again before I start up, and it went down to 2701 quests completed.
After I turned in that 1 quest, FIFTY! YEP!, it jumped up to 2710 quests done.
Now, assuming the numbers were right, as in, it was still registered as 2708 quests done, then technically, I shouldn't have 2710 quests completed.

Has anyone else had this problem? The only reason I'm concerning myself with this is if I have 2999 quests completed, and I turn in that last quest, I don't want it to jump down two or three quests.

Tried paging a GM, but I waiting 3 hours and didn't get a response, so I didn't bother.

With about 250 quests to go in Kalimdor, I got this achievement real easy.
So there's space for a lot of quests to skip. If you play the game as a regular quester, it wouldn't be hard at all to come by this achievement.

Not to happy about this, Went round did all the Midsummers quests, then Blizzard reset them....It also reset the quests for this acheivment I lost over 100. Blizz has said we have to go round again and redo them...this really sucks! You dont get them twice but hey at least its lots of gold so worth doing!

This is the second hardest quest achievement in the game, right behind The Loremaster in difficulty (simply because you must be able to find quests in certain areas for the Loremaster, while the Seeker simply requires the completion of any 3000 quests).

Unfortunately, you can't have the double title "Loremaster ---- the Seeker".

I was working on the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor Loremaster achievements and had almost completed both of them, getting the 2000 Quests Completed along the way.

Now, after I performed a FACTION CHANGE, the 2000 Quests Completed achievement is still completed, but suddenly this achievement only lists 1049/3000 in my achievement window.

Come to think of it, this may just be because all the faction-neutral quests I've done have been reset, and I must now complete their opposite counterparts.. Oh well, can't win every time..

Holiday quests (such as the candy buckets in Hallow's End) DO count towards this achievement. That can help with a lot of quests.

I believe that the title reward is actually referring to the The Seeker from the Sword of Truth series written by Terry Goodkind. (For those unfamiliar with these books, the TV series Legend of the Seeker is based upon them.) Of course, in usual Blizzard fashion it could quite likely be a combination of the various proposed explanations.

I find it interesting that there are only 2705 quest required to complete the Loremaster achievement. In combination with the fact that many of the seasonal quests count toward this achievement (but not Loremaster) these achievements may be completed in either order depending on what quests are completed first.

It does mean that it will be difficult, if not impossible, to complete this achievement without participating in the seasonal events.

You can turn in cloth four times to each NPC and it will count as quests, after that it becomes repeatable, and doesn't count. So you can get 20 quests by doing that.

I think the title "Loremaster" sounds much more impressive than "the Seeker", even if the later is arguably harder to reach.
I feel "the Seeker" implies you are a poor bastard who lost something, and Loremaster implies you are an expert of lore.

There are SO many ways to get 3000 quests (unlike before) but if you still find yourself several short here is an option:

I was stuck at 681/685 on Loremaster of Kalimdor so I went and killed as many Gelkis Clan Centaurs (with whom I was friendly and had already completed their quest chain) as it took to flip my rep upside down and make this chain available. It took me about an hour at lvl 80.

Then the Magram Alliance quest (for Magram Clan Centaurs) and it's subsequent chain become available which put me well over the amount of quests needed.

Since there are no rep rewards with either faction besides quest rewards, this is a valid option if you find yourself desperate for those last few Loremaster or 3000 Quests Completed numbers.

Ive noticed after changing factions from alliance to horde, some of the zoned quest i have to repeat how ever in my quest's completed i did not lose any from there.
Example: I did the Argent Tournament quests as alliance and have some achievements, as horde i now have to re do those quests but I still keep the achievements.
So some non repeatable for faction changes do count a second time when you do them.

just got this achievement. people who say that this is harder than loremaster are incorrect for many reasons. the 3000 quest counter counts holiday quests, race/class specific quests, proffessional quests, anything that you can only do once counts. Where as loremaster doesn't count any of those (except some holiday ones but im guessing blizz is going to fix that). As of now i still need 14 quests in kalimdor and all i can find that i have left is the AQ chain... joy.

not sure if anyone has said this yet, but for the horde there is exactly 3619 completable "normal" quests.(give or take mistakes i may have made, like not removing certain quests or whatnot) "normal" is to say quests under the region category. these i think should all be quests that are not dungeons, raids, bgs, holidays, and if repeatable, most should count for the first time.

I am glad about this, as i dont want to rely on running dungeons and raids, completeing holidays, or generally rare or hard to complete quests to get this done.

Edit: reading a comment above, this is infact entirely able to be solo'd and not need holidays/rare and difficult quests. Of course, you may want a healer to help you at lvl 80 quests but otherwise you should be perfectly fine.

Whomever said it does not count did you even try it? It could only be certain dailies but so far all of the ones in Argent Tournament Grounds have counted...and yes i've done them over and over...it wasn't the first time.

Only thing I can think of is either A.) the daily counter is falsely adding them even though not actually counting or B.) the dailies do count

I think it is bugged now, but when i did a faction change from horde to alliance, I had a count of 2645 quests completed and when I was alliance i had 1230 quests completed. But when I did another faction change from alliance to horde, i had a total of 1490 quests completed and when i was horde, I had a total of 2890 quests completed. I think I am not going to issue a ticket but i did not do any Neutral quests so they couldn't have counted.

Extremely disappointed right now. The way my quests worked out, I needed 19 quests in Icecrown to complete Loremaster of Northrend and thereby also earn The Loremaster. At the same time I needed 22 quests for the 3000 Quests Completed achievement and the Seeker title. I went to Grizzly Hills first and completed 3 quests there before continuing in Icecrown, my goal being to hit Loremaster and 3000 Quests with the same final quest turn-in at Icecrown, which I figured would be an even rarer feat than getting either title.

Well, I finished my 19 quests in Icecrown, checked the quest tracker before turning in the last (Shatter the Shards), and my quests were at 139/140 for Icecrown and 2,999/3,000 for 3000 Quests. After the turn-in, Icecrown: The Final Goal, Loremaster of Northrend and The Loremaster all popped, but no 3000 Quests. Checked the tracker again. Now showed only 2,996/3,000 quests. What? I was robbed! I have a ticket in now.

Run, do not walk, to download the latest version of Everyquest. It can now read all your completed quests from your player database. If you filter out completed quests, Everyquest will show you what you have left in each zone.

I am now trying to get this ach AFTER I completed Loremaster... I switched faction and lost close to 2000 quests that I had completed, I then cracked on with Loremaster and completed that short of 450 quests of this damn title.

So backtracking once again to find out which area's I can go and request grrrr.

So the moral of the story is... DO THIS AND LOREMASTER BEFORE YOUR THINKING OF SWITCHING FACTIONS!

It will save you a bucket load of time repeating all the area's you once quested out : (

For those of us who are working on the Holiday meta and Loremaster, depending on which holidays have been completed, this achievement may be earned before loremaster. When I got loremaster, I had completed 3016 quests. Hope this helps!

Personally I'm 217 quest from LM title and less than 100 to getting this. To me getting "The Seeker" is just icing on the cake.

What ever the amount is for the next Title, it should be easier given each zone will have it's own achievement. A server first title for quest done would be nice.

I'm closing in on this achivement and have noticed some strange things happening. For example, my quest count jumped from 2972 to 2975 after one quest. Then jumped back down to 2974 after completing another. It's been doing this for the last few weeks.

As of patch 3.3 (I'm currently working on this achievement), I decided to check on some data just to see how many quests are needed for Loremaster, and to see if you could get the Seeker achievement along the way.

This is more so for new characters/players who didn't rank up a huge number of bonus quests from events and raids and dungeons and so forth. And for others to see exactly the number of quests required for each achievement and meta achievement to work towards their Seeker title.

For Alliance:

Loremaster of Kalimdor - 700 Quests
Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms - 700 Quests
Loremaster of Outland - 568 Quests (80 for Hellfire Peninsula, 54 for Zangarmarsh, 63 for Terokkar Forest, 75 for Nagrand, 86 for Blade's Edge Mountains, 120 for Netherstorm, and 90 for Shadowmoon Valley)
Loremaster of Northrend - 875 Quests (130 for Borean Tundra, 130 for Howling Fjord, 115 for Dragonblight, 85 for Grizzly Hills, 100 for Zul'Drak, 75 for Sholazar Basin, 100 for Storm Peaks, and 140 for Icecrown)

Which brings you to a total of 2843 quests, leaving you to find an additional 157 quests for the Seeker title.

For Horde:

Loremaster of Kalimdor - 685 Quests
Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms - 550 Quests
Loremaster of Outland - 595 Quests (90 for Hellfire Peninsula, 54 for Zangarmarsh, 68 for Terokkar Forest, 87 for Nagrand, 86 for Blade's Edge Mountains, 120 for Netherstorm, and 90 for Shadowmoon Valley)
Loremaster of Northrend - 875 Quests (150 for Borean Tundra, 105 for Howling Fjord, 130 for Dragonblight, 75 for Grizzly Hills, 100 for Zul'Drak, 75 for Sholazar Basin, 100 for Storm Peaks, and 140 for Icecrown)

Which brings you to a total of 2705, leaving you to find an additional 295 quests for the Seeker title.

So Horde clearly have an easier time getting the Loremaster title, however if everyone who goes for Seeker also goes for Loremaster (I wouldn't see why you wouldn't), then Alliance will be closer to Seeker after obtaining Loremaster.

As posted in other Loremaster threads, there is a great guide for 'hard to find' quests (sadly Alliance side only, although I'm sure there's an equivalent for Horde as well) found here. (I did not make this list, so no credit goes to me for this).

I have reason to believe that in Hallow's End world event, every candy-filled pumpkin in every inn in every city/village counts towards this achievement.

I got my Seeker title thanks to the bucket in Desolace! :D

This used to award 50 achievement points but now, as of patch 4.01, this has been increased to 120 making it the single achievement with the highest number of achievement points attached to it... nice!

I've been workin on this achi, a lil bit, and it seemed to me that weekly and daily quests do count towards this. But you lose the credit for those quests once the quests reset. So doing all dailies you can in a day, and also as many weeklies as you can find, can actually give you a temporary buff. I think.

Last time I checked this, though, was before 4.0.1. It is possible that they fixed it again. I say, try it yourself to be sure :)

One of the "funniest" achievements i've ever done... Got it literally 5 minutes ago, and as i'm writting this im standing at 673/700 in Eastern Kingdom and 285/700 Kalimdor (I've been doing quests in EK most of the time, went from 2700ish to 3000 just in Eastern Kingdom).

Will wait for Cataclysm to start working on Kalimdor Loremaster, and will continue the EK one as we speak. Had the opportunity to visit awesome places, got myself some rare pets (Oozeworm, Old Cliff Jumper, Uhk'Loc, The Beast).

I'm happy with my new title, and a word of advice, DON'T give up! EveryQuest and WoWHead looter are great, great helps to achieve this.

Good luck for anyone out there doing this, and remember, DON'T give up :D

**4.0.3 EDIT**

Having The Seeker, i can confirm that Blizzard DID NOT erase any quest from Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms/Kalimdor, still standing at 675 (did two more quests after my post yesterday) and 285 in Kalimdor. :)

i just got patch 4.0.3 today and my achievement lists me at 2471/3000 when just 3 days ago, last time i was online, i was at 2505/3000. it seems Blizz erased some quests from this, roughly 34 of them. It might of been the Hallow's End buckets but im not entirely sure.

I got a reply back from a GM stating that yes they did remove several quests with this patch, 4.0.3, and the number did drop. So be prepared that if your working on this, your number probably dropped a bit.

Even though quests were deleted, you still completed them, so your old total carries over to 4.0.3a.

So it is possible to get this title ever though the totals in game say otherwise.

That being said, 3000 quests is chump change if you already have Loremaster. Hopefully Blizz will put in a new rank so we have something else to work towards.

In 4.0.3 the achi does show you as you had a lot less quests completed than before. But if you start do quests it will come back to your quest count before patch.

I had 27xx quests before 4.0.3, and when I got online in 4.0.3 it said I had 19xx. After a few quests it showed 27xx again.

And I got my The Seeker tittle tonight.

So yes. The achi does show as you have lost a lot of quests completed, but it's just a bug. Keep on questing and it will rise to normal and you can get the achi.
And it's quests completed in your char history, not quests completed in the current version. Deleted quests count in the total number of quests completed.

I just completed this patch after The Shattering. It seems that there is currently a bug with this that changes the amount of quests you have completed depending on what zone you're in.

For example, in Blasted Lands I was listed at 2970/3000 I needed to complete (and got the achievement today), but in Orgrimmar I was listed as 2100/3000. The difference is huge, but I'll be going for Loremaster anyway so I assume this is not such a big deal in my scenario. I guess it's more of a fun fact.

This achievement is a bit bugged after The Shattering patch (4.0.3).
After you log in it may show less quests than you have done already. But if you hand in a quest it will show the correct number again.

...'the Seeker', awesome title, pain in the a.. to get it before cataclysm reforged the "Old world". Haven't started questin' this new chains of quests and side quests but from what I heard; they are a lot better, and easier than old ones, soon forgotten. Its a shame this didn't become feat of strength achievement due to 'the Shattering'.

People, raise your thumbs for all those that got 'the Seeker' by solving cataclysms easier quests although they haven't felt "true" pain like some of us did. They have also consumed a lot of time for it and non the less its still quite an achievement. ^^

When I am in Northrend it says I have 2800 quest completed but when I go back to say Orgrimmar it drops to 2200, I guess I will push my quests till I get 2999 and then do 1 quest in Northrend.

There appears to be a problem on the display for those who have done a faction transfer and post patch 4.0.3. Just to clarify for those who /care:
It DOES count the quests you did in the previous faction (or pre 4.0.3) and you can still do all the new faction's quests (or post 4.0.3). :) (It will not double the neutral quests as they will remain completed after the transfer)

However, the display error is such that after you face a loading screen your achievement will only display the new faction + neutral quests completed.
In order to get the real number of quests completed you must complete another new quest (daily or not) this will change the display to: new faction + old + neutral quests. ← This is the real number of completed quests which count to the seeker title.

(Hope this helps the small minority of people who found themselves in my shoes :P)

The counter for the achievement, "3000 Quests Complete", has not been working since the last Cataclysm patch was applied. I have screenshots of the malfunction, but here is the important information (what the counter shows).

April 18, 2011, 11:38am 2728/3000 quests complete

April 18, 2011, 11:39pm 2746/3000 quests complete

I have disabled addons, but the same types of errors occur. I have noticed that when the counter is showing a lower number (such as 1805), if I complete a quest it will jump to a higher number (such as 2728 or 2746). Anybody else had this happen?

Same bug here. I checked this achievement two days ago, and it said 2918/3000. After half an hour or so, it was 2094/3000. After a few hours it was 2918/3000 again. Today is 2094/3000. It's very annoying.

As you can see, by completing the loremaster achievements, you will also get over 3000 quests. I suggest picking up Quest Completist (similar to Everyquest, but updated for Cataclysm and still being updated. Everyquest seems to have been abandoned) to help you find lost quests if you get confused or stuck. Good luck, and happy questing!

I'm sure Blizzard will be adding onto this achievement line quite soon. Before Cata, you would usually get your seeker title before getting loremaster. Now it is inevitable; and i'm sure players of each faction can now comfortably top 4,000 quests.

On 1/28/11 I received the achievement for 2000 quests completed. I just checked my progress for 3000 and my quest count is at 1877/3000. Is there something I missed or should I put in a ticket?

This achievement should get updated. As of late Cataclysm I have 8996 of which 2821 are dailys meaning I've completed 6175 quests (and still have a few zones left). This is counting the quests removed so maybe add in a FoS for getting 5-6k quests done.

like a lot of people I got issues with this, I just noticed that my achievement said that I only have 2381 quests completed, which is about what I had before MoP, I have done almost every quest in pandaria, I started panicking, then I completed a quest and it jumped to 2861...

Just wanted to point out that with the advent of achievements being shared across an account, this one will let you apply the title to any character, but all 3000 quests must be completed on one character.

I got this achivement on my 10 years old character today. However it says I haven't done ANY quests in the old classic zones which isn't true (apart from Duskwood and Westall which's a bit weird). So it's kind of sad I have 3000 quests done but nowhere near getting the Loremaster achivement. Those who played Classic WoW know you had to do basically every quest in many of the classic zones.

Short guide to understanding your quest statistics page.

(Assuming you have not re-mapped your key-bindings) Press Y to open up your achievements window. The tabs down the bottom, click on the statistics one. Look through the menu on the left until you find the one that says 'quests', click it to expand it. You should now see 5 quest-related statistics. Note that the first line says "quests completed" - this is not the 'seeker' or 'loremaster' statistic, that stat is not actually displayed. This first line is actually your total quests completed. Look now at the third stat - "daily quests". Subtract this number from the "total quests" number above and *this* is your current "seeker" progress.

If your sum gave you a figure less than 3000, you can cross-reference with the figure as showing in your Seeker achievement progress and verify the accuracy of my claim as set out in the paragraph above.

If you're interested, my sum (patch 8.1, after finishing most of the BfA stuff) went something like: 20k total minus 8k dailys to get 12k loremaster/seeker quests. I'd be an exception though, as I've completed a crapton of since-deleted content over the years which over-inflates my total by at least 1500+, might even be as much as 2500.

It would seem that bumping this up a notch and adding an additional layer of 10k to the achievement would probably be attainable by the average player of 2018. Maybe Blizz might add it in the future, they haven't shied away from doing 10k dailys or 10k world quests ones.

The easiest way to do this is to go back and run thrue most of the some of the old expansions area quests.

pandaria is for example around 700-900 quests.

If you dont have flying, its preferable to do those that you can fly for, so TBC, WOTLK, CATA, (Pandaria after 8.3 even if it has some bugs in a few quests)

with a good aoe char, and flying you can do about 300-450 quests over a few hours.

i recommend that you have these addons:
WoW-Pro Guides: (good simple quest guides that work even if you are on max level (AAP does not work at max level))
Azeroth Auto Pilot: (some settings here trully automates quest giving,picking,rewarding,reading that wow-pro does not do completely)

Those let you can speed thrue questslines if you really dont care about the lore/story.

Simply by doing the quests from Loremaster up to the Cataclysm expansion, you can get the achievement easily.
