A simple achievement really, during the times when Glop isn't running he'll throw boomshrooms at the spot you're currently at, just make sure to keep moving because they will blow up after a few seconds. They look like tiny mushrooms on the ground.

BTW, you can only get this achievement while doing the Therazane daily, you can't get it when doing the original quest.

I did this 3 times today by dropping the quest and picking it up again and failed to get the achievement every time.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get the achievement after finishing the quest?

You need to not be hit by ONLY boomshrooms, getting hit by tombshrooms does not effect the achievement. You get rewarded it after Glop dies, and I have a strong suspicion your pet counts as I failed for no reason 3 times, so I went without and got it first time.

i just got the achievement the first time I ran this daily as a rogue despite taking constant damage from the boomshrooms. I checked the combat log, i see plenty of "Boomshroom's Boomshroom Explosion hits for Fire", yet I still got the achievement.

so maybe bliz <3 rogue after all?

The static mushrooms all around the cave called Tombshrooms are not the ones described in this achievement. Boomshrooms are the ones he 'grows' when he stops in the three places while you chase him. They can be separately targeted (easy to do if you use the tab key) and only have like 1000hp so they are easy to kill before they "grow" and explode.

Almost any AOE will do, and if you don't have any handy just individually target them as they grow and take them down before they get too big.

This achievement has a way of achieving it that is so easy, it feels like cheating.

Tag Glop with an attack as other people start the quest. Stand at the entrance and wait. No mushrooms will spawn anywhere near you, and when the other people doing the quest finish it, you'll get the achievement.

It... felt like cheating, honestly.

A quick tip for those needing this achievement: it only requires that you take no damage from the shrooms. You can still get the achievement if you are hit by them, but absorb the damage. I just did this as a frost mage, I got hit by about 5 shrooms total but they never made it though my Ice Barrier and Mana Shield.

Confirming the above, but for Destruction warlock. Using Nether Ward on cooldown was a very easy way to get this achievement. For safety I also dismissed my pet since those tends to bug out stuff like this. Try it out.

Achievement appears to be bugged to always give you credit or something. I did the daily and was trying for the achievement, but failed it with Glop at about 75% so I proceeded to just stand there and take the damage from all the boomshrooms he was throwing down (am a Prot Paladin). Well, killed him a minute later and low and behold I got the achievement lol.

I can confirm that if your pet takes damage from his Boomshrooms then you will fail the achievement. Just dismiss it to be safe.

I just did this and my water elemental absolutely did get hit by it, so it seems it's been fixed (or was never bugged in the first place)

I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet but if you kill him before he reaches the end then you will not get the achievement.

I have done this quest a few times, checked my log and constantly checking my health at all times, and I know for a fact that I never got hit by a boomshroom, still no achieve.
I have never seen anyone on my server get the achieve either so I'd say it's definetly bugged, at least on my server anyways.

I was helping a friend get this achievement today and she killed Glop three times before speaking to the shaman that comes in. Only that time was she able to finally get it.

In short, it appeared that you must be the person speaking to the NPC to get this. I could be wrong, but give it a shot.

Just got this achievement, I thought I should note down a few points about my own experience with it:

On my first attempt, I simply joined in the fight that someone else had just started. When he died, I got the quest credit, but not the achievement.

Following that, I grouped with someone else waiting for the shaman NPC to respawn. The other guy spoke to the shaman to start the event. Upon Glop dying this time, I got the achievement. I did not abandon or retake the quest in the meantime; I simply had the completed quest in my log.

I did not get hit by a boomshroom either time, but my team-mate did on the second try.

I had done this repeatedly without success. I was doing lots of different strategies, such as tagging him and running off and such, but I was still not getting the achievement. Quest credit, no problem though. Then I found out the problem: In order to get the achievement, not only must you not get hit by boomshrooms, but you must start the quest dialogue with the Troll yourself. After I did this, I got it on the first try. If you're in a party with someone who starts it, you should get it too.

This may have already been confirmed, if so sorry for the repost, but I would like to confirm that the above strat posted by "Arya" works. Just destroy the shrooms. If you have any type of AOE just kill the shrooms before they bloom... and you will get achievement.

PS: he only throws the mushrooms you are trying to avoid for the achievement when he stops running and is fighting.

Did this achievement today. I m a paladin.
The first time, i was trying to kill the mushrooms as posted above but apparently trying to dps the mob and kill the mushrooms isnt easy and the explosion radius is quite big.
The 2nd time i let the npc (shaman) go ahead and start shooting 1st so she got aggro and Glop was throwing all the mushrooms at her. I positioned my self a bit far away on the left of Glop, so i was out of explosion radius throwing judgments and exorcism but watching not to get aggro. Did this all the way and got the achiev easily.
Basically let her shoot him first to get aggro, then she tanks him and kills him alone just throw a few ranged hits if you can. She wont die, she heals herself just wait for her, take your time, stay at range and watch aggro.

Here's a quick tip to the noobs like me who want the achievement:

In the current patch, you can glitch your way to victory and here's how myself and others have done it:

Get the quest, run out to the cave, talk to the npc and start the daily.
Start fighting Glop. He says some whiny crap then he runs off to some corner of the cave.
Once he turns around and starts fighting you and your shammy npc, X out of your WoW game.
Wait about 30 seconds.
Log back in.
If you get the timing right, you'll be in front of Glop without your npc helper. Glop will be attackable but he will not attack you back! That includes not chucking fungus bombs at you!

I've already tested this with a few random people in my realm. Also noteworthy, if you can get him to evade an attack, the same thing happens. Let's hope we can capitalize on this before Blizz finds out.

As a warrior I just use cleave and it takes the shrooms down in one hit. But for some reason, no matter how many times I try, it doesn't credit me for the achievement. I know I didn't get hit by any boomshrooms. Skada damage meter also confirms this.

bugged way to get achievement?

I did the quest, for the first time, but was too lazy to turn it in - I turn it in the next day... and lo and behold, achievement! I didn't even know it existed, and I most certainly took shroom dmg. I am not sure what is up with it, but perhaps turning the quest in late somehow reset it, so it ignored the fact I did not really complete it?

don't forget to turn in the quest you don't get the achievement til it's turned in, so don't expect it to auto pop up just bc you didn't get hit

It appears that after patch 4.0.6 you now get the achievement after returning to turn the quest in. I abandoned and picked up the quest a couple times at first when I didn't get it upon killing him, but only got it when I finally gave up and turned it in.

I've just completed the achievement using Fan of Knives ability to aoe the mushrooms as soon as they appear.

Now you get the achiev when you turn in the quest, not kill the boss!

Glop himself bugged out on me... after he stopped the first time and I DPS'd him down (shadow priest, dots ticking all the time) ... he just "flew" thru the rocks to his final spot and just stood there while i mind flayed him to death... he died..

i turned in the quest and got the achievement on turn-in.

Just kill the mushrooms as they spawn before they have a chance to explode! They have very little health and take a few seconds to explode.

as of time of writing, achievement is received AFTER QUEST TURN IN. i dropped it and redid it because i thought i messed up. also my pet took damage and it was fine.

As a rogue I just stood back and pelted him with my ranged weapon. The NPC tanks him and she is way tougher and does not die

Dunno if they changed this, but i got the achivement WHEN I TURNED IN THE QUEST! Really weird cause when I did it with my main some months ago I got it the moment Glop died.

I found a trick to this... accidently but it worked, i attacked glop the first time he stopped and and was hit by him throwing the shrooms but not when they explode, then he ran off, 2nd time he stopped the same again untill the 2nd last one he threw and i missed it and it exploded on me, he ran off and i abandoned quuest to try start it off again

BUT this is where the trick seems to be i jumped off a cliff and died to exit combat, went back to corpse, res'ed, collected the quest again and when i was running in the npc was still attackin him and must have downed him cos when i was half way up to where they would be i got the notification that the objective of the q was completed, went back to hand it in and bingo achievement got.

Some facts -

It doesn't matter if you get hit by 坟墓蘑菇爆炸.
If you are a hunter with a pet, or a DK with a minion etc, it doesn't matter if it gets hit by the 爆炸蘑菇爆裂.

The achievement wont appear when you have killed Glop, but when you turn in the quest.

And just to mention, I felt like the easiest method was to just run away from the shrooms, and not "kill" them. They will despawn after ~5 seconds, and he throws new ones at you like every ~2 seconds. Try not to melee him too much, and rather use your ranged abilities.

Pretty simple achievement as a warlock - keeping your dots up on the boss when he isnt throwing shrooms at you and casting fel flame on growing shrooms will get this achievement done with no issues.

For fellow Death Knights: This is simple! Just throw out 枯萎凋零, in the main area around you and 真菌占卜者戈洛普, this will result in every Boomshroom, instantly dying(almost atleast) and thus no 爆炸蘑菇爆裂

For all of you:If you fail (that is, taking damage from 爆炸蘑菇爆裂), just keep going and kill the boss, THEN abandon quest and start over. I abandoned and ran out after his first "stop", that means he keeps fighting, and now I have been in combat in 15 minutes or so! great!

Okay so I won't get into detail on what to do since you might already have an idea from previous comments.
This is how I did it and the things I noticed

-First I made a Power Aura spell alert for the specific debuff. Make sure it makes an annoying sound so you know if you got hit by it. I tested it before I got the achievement, and it worked, dropped the quest then picked it back up and got the achievement on my 3rd attempt.
-After you talk to the Troll you want to run ahead to where he takes the first jump, so you can start DPSing him as you walk.
-You want to do as much damage before he stands still, at a certain % he will move again, I believe is about 50%. I had him about 45 so he stopped for about a second.
-You always want to be running with him and doing damage.

As an Enhancement Shaman, I ran ahead, started DPSing him, when we got close to the first stop, I used my Feral Spirit and Bloodlust, but this was before he stopped. He only threw about one mushroom which I moved away from. Then I just kept DPSing him and he didn't make it to the second stop.

P.S. You will get the achievement after you hand in the quest, not before. Since you're doing this achievement, I believe you also want to complete The Glop Family Line which is doing this quests 10 times, well if you don't get it at first don't sweat it.

Another theory is just to do alot of damage! He'll just start running directly if hes health is lower than the level where he is supposed to start to run! Tip: When you start of the event, go stand by the first line of tombshrooms, seeing how glop will jump there when encountered!

As a Mage, this is a pretty easy achievement. Keep your distance, move to avoid the Boomshrooms, and just focus down the boss. For an added insurance policy, keep mana shield up at all times, so you can make sure that if you are struck, it technically doesn't count against the achievement. Earned it on my first real try.

If you fall off the platform at the end trying to dodge shrooms, the shaman will finish him off and Glop won't bug out or anything because you're too far away or because of LoS issues or anything, so don't worry about running all the way back up.

I'm level 90 (feral, druid) and I can't get a credit for that achievement. I didn't get hit by his boomshroms. I killed him in that spot near lake. Any idea?

Hi guys,

I know it has been mentioned before a few times, but I would just like to also say and clarify that you do not need to go up on the platform and kill him to get this achievement. I simply accepted the daily, flew to the cave, and talked to the Troll NPC. Once the dialogue between her and Glop was finished, he was able to be targeted and I started DPS'ing him. He died very few seconds later whilst running up the path. I flew back, turned it in, and got the achievement. I did NOT get the achievement when killing him, only when turning it in.

Hope this gives some peace of mind to those still needing this achievement : )

TIP: If you feel like u got hit by any shrooms don't turn in the quest. Just get it abandoned and retake it.

For you that can 1 shot it, you do NOT have to run all the way to the end, just kill it as its attackable, and then turn in the quest, you then get the achievement right away.
