Sif is dead(As told by Thorim and Loken)...But this achievement tells us otherwise...
I anticipate what will happen in Ulduar :)

Kill Thorim on hard mode.
Before Thorim can be faught, part of the raid must run a gauntlet to reach him. After 3 minutes Sif despawns. After 5 minutes the raid is wiped. Normal mode requires engaging Thorim between 3 and 5 minutes after the encounter is started. Engaging Thorim in less then 3 minutes forces the raid to fight both Sif and Thorim simultaneously and counts as the hard mode of the encounter.
If at this point you wipe, you will still be granted the
Siffed
achievement. If you manage to kill Thorim, you will also recieve the Lose Your Illusion achievement.
Sif cannot be killed, but does attack the raid with
Frostbolt Volley
,
Frost Nova
and
Blizzard
. She also removes the
Touch of Dominion
debuff from Thorim, increasing his damage by 67% and his health by 43%.
Touch of Dominion used to reduce damage by 20%, but now reduces damage by 40%. So not having that buff increases Thorim's damage by 67% instead of 33%. Assuming his unmodified damage output stayed the same, this should not be seen as a buff to the hard mode, but rather as a nerf to normal mode.

The title of this achievement could be a reference to the Guns n' Roses album series titled "Use Your Illusion".

I would say this is probably the easiest of the 10-man hard modes, we got it to 20% first try ever without the intention of activating hard-mode, the dps requirement in tunnel to activate it is very low (we had about 50 seconds to spare with 2 dps'ers in there).
From there on out it's just a matter of tanks doing taunt ping-pong or cooldown rotations when one has Unbalancing Strike, and the rest needs to dodge the blizzard and the lightnings from the walls. Like many other Ulduar fights, having people who can actually
move out of the fire when there is fire
will make this a cakewalk. If you have a warlock you could probably put a soulstone on one of the tanks for extra safety.

Judging by my own experience and videos of this achievement, it appears that you'll have anywhere from 2:30 to 2:45 (150-165 seconds) to down Thorim before he's too bursty to heal through (soft berserk). Since hard mode removes his
Touch of Dominion
debuff, he'll have 4,183,500 HP. All adds should be down and Sif can't be killed, so assuming you have two tanks (each pulling 2500 DPS) and two healers, you'll need a raid DPS of 20,355. Split between your six remaining DPS, that comes out to 3,392 DPS each. If you bring three healers, it'll require a little over 4,000 DPS from each DPSer.
That's about on par with some of the other hard modes. We gave this a few tries today and it appears that the toughest part is keeping the raid alive. There probably isn't a need to stack your raid or anything, just be sure everyone understands where potential damage comes from and not to go into "tunnel vision" mode.

Just got this achievement today. We found it's easier to have one piece of frost gear from the Hodir encounter and a Paladin/Shaman doing a Frost Aura. We also had the luxury to get a Nature Resist totem as well. Siff will hit for A LOT less with some Frost Gear.
We were really unlucky because we only have one dispeller, which should always focus dispel your range class. Setup is 2 Tanks, 2 Healers, 6 DPS.
General Tips.
1) AOE blizzard from Siff will always going on the outer ring, do not ever, ever tank this guy on the edge.
2) Frost nova on the melee will need to be dispelled, but not before dispelling the range first.
3) EVERYONE must understand the mechanic of the fight. Spread out for the chain lightning on the melee. Also everyone needs to understand how that lightning draw work.
4) Earthen Power will kick ass for this fight if you have an Enhancement Shaman (we did have a shaman but he said he lose too much dps speccing into that, so we didn't have it).
5) If you have Deadly Boss Mod, make sure your tanks be really on their toes to taunt immediately on Unbalancing Strike. Make sure your healers know before hand to precast heals.
6) We had 1 Tank, 2 Melee DPS, 1 Healer for Arena. Rest all in tunnel, which got destroyed really fast. Before Aggro-ing Thorim, make sure the Arena's cleared, so no extra add spawn comes after Thorim jumps down.
7) Bloodlust early if available, before people start dying. Don't bother wasting a Priest spot to MC the arena mob for the haste bonus. It is not worth a dps spot.

2 Holy Priests, 1 Holy Paladin, 1 Enhancement Shaman, 1 Destro lock, 2 Surv. hunters, 1 Combat rogue, 1 Blood DK Tank, 1 Paladin Tank...
Skipping the first phases, in the last one, its all smooth until around %40(pop heroism at the beginning), and then, holy priests will start focusing on tanks too, and tanks start popping their cooldowns since dmg becomes unbearable(like 6-7 stacks at this point, with a moderate amount of dps, 4-5k each dps), after this point, its just a burn it down, pop everything(haste pots too), and nuke as much as possible, u'll eventually get it if u have good dps.

The set up my 10 man used was thus:
Prot Paladin
Prot Warrior
Arcane Mage x2
Surv Hunter
Destro Warlock
Ret Paladin
Boomkin
Holy Priest
Resto Shaman
Paladin started off tanking Thorim once he's down into the arena. Since his avoidance was pretty high, we let him tank Thorim through the first Unbalancing Strike and Prot Warrior taunted off on the second one. Sometimes the RNG can be kind and Thorim won't use his Unbalancing Strike every time it's up, but most times you should just count on him using it the moment it's available. We didn't wear any frost resist gear, just had the Ret put up Frost Res aura.
Positioning is very important in this fight. Avoid the outer ring of the arena, Sif drops the blizzard there just like Shade of Aran, so unless you stay ahead of it, that's death. Sif has a really annoying habit of blinking into a group and using Frost Nova, then turning and meleeing whoever is closest until she starts casting again. She did this to our tanks several times, so be aware of this. When you see the lightning on the ground, if it's beneath you, MOVE! Spread out to avoid chaining the lightning, but don't outdistance your healers, they're going to be stressed enough between keeping the tanks up through Thorim's stacking buff and healing the gobs of raid damage flying around from Sif.
We saved bloodlust for when he was around 70%. You need to have him almost dead by the time the 8th stack of his buff goes up, because his hits start getting really brutal. Around 35%, the ret popped divine sacrifice; this helps IMMENSELY. Ret paladins are worth their weight in gold in this fight.

I get the impression that most of what I'll say has already been said, but these are the points I found most useful when completing this achievement;
Nature and Frost Resist Aura: Thorim deals a lot of nature damage, and Sif deals exclusively frost damage, so if you have a hunter/shaman/paladin aura spare, have those aura's up. If you have to choose between them, then pick frost if you want less snares, or pick nature for less overall incoming damage. As for you using Frost Resist gear, up to your raid group - if the healers are having trouble keeping people up, chuck on some FR gear, if you are struggling to get the dps, stick to your normal gear.
A good balance for enabling hard mode is to run six in the gauntlet, four in the arena - having your plate dps stay outside - sometimes the odd add will get loose and start hitting one of the dps, better it be a plate dps then a clothie.
HoT healers (generally) have an easier time healing the arena: Myself (Resto Druid) had a much easier time healing the arena team then our resto shaman or holy pally, since those healers are a little more reliant on their castbars then others.
Ranged classes spread out: If you are using dbm, /range will tell you when you are 10 yards away from someone, and the lighting tends to chain to anyone closer then 10 yards.
Don't worry about the enrage timer: The amount of incoming damage long before the enrage timer is reached will be unhealable.
Don't worry about Mind Control: The added hassle of keeping the mob alive/making sure it doesn't go hit a healer when MC breaks/making sure it doesn't die/making sure the priest is standing in the right spot to MC/etc far outweigh the benefits the mob give, save that achievement when you go for thorim normal mode.
Use Bloodlust early: There is no real reason to use bloodlust late in the fight, may as well use it early while all 10 raid members are alive, the fight is only going to get harder. Give the raid a few seconds to get into position when thorim is aggro'ed, and then use all your CD's.
Cleanse frost nova's at a smart time: The only time you really need to have your frost nova dispelled is when you are about to be hit by thorim's lighting, or if the blizzard is about to be ontop of you. Your dispelers are probably going to be busy dps'ing/healing/tanking, and Sif will be frost nova'ing a lot.
Be aware of raid damage: A lot of raid damage can be avoided, and the healers are going to need to do a bit of moving around, so try to be nice and not eat lightning/blizzard.
As a side note - anyone know if Hand of Freedom works on breaking the frost nova in this fight? I don't see why it wouldn't work... but I could be wrong.

Soloed as an Affli Warlock with Voidlord.
Tactic:
It is impossible to fight against Thorim in Normal Mode, because he resets. The only way is to kill him by activating his Hard Mode. Phase 1 (reaching Thorim) is the most difficult part of the fight. Voidlord should be set to passive (you command it manually). Kill all the adds in the arena, open the gate by using the lever, run into the corridor where you pull Runic Colossus (use Burning Rush and Dark Regeneration!) and quickly return to the arena (keep the big add alive). Place your Demonic Portal just past the gate, return to the arena and wait for reset. Kill all the adds in the arena except Runic Colossus and one additional mob. Teleport past the gate, resummon Voidlord and kill Runic Colossus. Keep the add from the arena alive as you kill the rest enemies on your way to Thorim. When you are near Thorim, kill the add from the arena and wait for Thorim to do his roleplay until Sif spawns. If you enter earlier, you fail... If you wait too much, you fail too... Do not bother counter of Hard Mode in the DBM, because it counts the time from the first pull, rather than the reset. When you jump down, do not forget to resummon Voidlord. Now defeat Thorim while avoiding Lightning Charge. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Having just done this achievement blindly in a group of five 90s, here are the things that would have helped going in:
As soon as you kill the Mercenaries and the Jormungar, Thorim will speak and his timers start.
On your left as you enter the room, you should see a gate and a switch. As soon as Thorim starts speaking, have somebody hit that switch while the others defend him (it's about a 10-second channel and can break on damage).
When the gate opens, send some
but not all
of your team through the gate and into the hallway that follows. Once you've cleared the dwarves, Thorim will join the fight personally.
Important:
If there is nobody in the arena when the hallway team kills the last dwarf, Thorim will send an electrical surge down the hall, killing everybody. This is why you should leave at least one person in the arena, or be prepared to sprint back up the hall; anybody who can kite or self-heal should be fine.
While that's happening, whoever stays in the arena just needs to fight off an endless swarm of low-health dwarves. Thorim will occasionally throw his hammer, and about a second after it lands, it will explode, stunning anybody nearby.
At level 90, Thorim's mechanics aren't anything too worrysome, so the final phase is basically just a DPS race against Sif's despawn timer.

Tried to solo as a balance druid. Easy to pull the tunnel mob back to reset thanks to dru's variety of movement enhances - but I couldn't pull the specific Dark Rune Acolyte that you NEED to aggro from beyond the gate to successfuly complete this achieve solo. Shrooms got the Jormungar (and pulled the group) - but you (apparently) need to pull the dwarf specifically to prevent Thorim from bugging out.
I tried shrooms at max range (you can blow em up from behind the barrier - but not close enough to specifically pull the Dark Rune dude). Also tried placing shroom debuff (no damage but the 20-sec slow after), Ursoc's Vortex and Treants, too!
This is probably impossible for a druid without some specific accoutrements (via engineering, etc.). Had to bring in my DK to run it with death and decay. Successful first time.
TLDR; if you don't have a method of certain long-distance place-and-forget-it aggro, this achieve is impossible to get solo - no matter your speed.

Soloed as a hunter. ilvl 542 but not sure how relevant that is. Make sure to
remove your legendary cloak
if you have it to save any accidental mob killing at the wrong time. No need for speed potions just need the
Posthaste
talent. Pretty much following the same tactics as in the video put up by AventuraPL but tweaked a bit for a hunter. Set your pet to passive, first off kill the guys in the arena as normal so you can open the tunnel, stand with your back to it and trigger posthaste as soon as the door opens to propel you inside (don't forget to switch on aspect of the cheetah) then start to run in all the time commanding your pet to attack the colossus, the second he starts to go for it, turn back and run out, he should get there just in time to tag him and as soon as he does set him to passive again, by the time the other dwarves has despawned you should be near the door anyways but you can always throw posthaste again to make sure you get out before the ball of death. Your pet won't make it. My pet had dash and I think that helped him cover the distance. Throw down traps to where the 3 groups of arena mobs spawn at the beginning and run back into the tunnel. Gate will close, mobs respawn set off traps and run through the gate at you, kill colossus and all of the other mobs except for one captain/soldier and follow then go about your business killing the dwarves as you make you way up to Thorim, the final part took me ages to get right as I kept going too early and Sif wouldn't trigger so he would just jump down, be unattackable and despawn. Timing is key at the end but watch the video by AventuraPL to get an idea for the rough guess. Hope this helps and to let you know it isn't impossible to do without a tonne of potions.

Pay attention to trap location and, most importantly, where he kills the final captured mercenary / kited mob.

Today i have managed to complete this achievement alone. I was writing a guide here as soon as i did that but my PC crashed and i had to spend some hours to take it back so now i'm writing what i remember.
My toon is a 575 BM Hunter. I used a Ferocity Spirit Beast. Important things in the build are:
Talents:
- Posthaste (this is a must)
- Spirit Bond (Optional, it will be useful to keep your pet alive)
- Barrage (Optional aswell, but useful to pull all the mobs in the arena on your pet)
Glyphs:
- Aspect of the Cheetah (The one that removes the daze effect. This is a must)
- Pathfinding (Optional but very useful)
Some things to keep in mind:
1)
I have
Assurance of Consequences
4/4 Warforged which reduces Disengage CD by a lot so it's usually ready as soon as i pull the colossus. You might need to adjust the tactic below accordingly if you don't have (or have another version) the trinket.
2)
My toon is a Night Elf and i didn't use anything that increased my speed. If you have something that does that (or makes you jump) like worgens/goblin racial, Symbiosis from a druid, skull of impending doom, Drums of Speed, Speed potion... then use it! It can be used after posthaste ends (or in place of it if it's not ready when you pull the Colossus) or instead of AotC. Just keep in mind that in the places where i say to disengage or to use AotC the faster you go the better!
3)
Remove anything that might give you a damage proc (legendary cloak and helm with legenday gem), i replaced them with different items but i think it's safe to say that you won't die if you haven't got anything to replace them. There's the risk that it will proc when you pull the Colossus, if it dies before you can run back to the Arena then the fight will reset and you might be stuck in the hall with the Sparkly ball of death coming to you
Start with Aspect of the Hawk and your pet on assist mode
1) Move near the lever
. MD to your pet, target the Dark Iron Accolyte (you might need to move closer to him) and use Barrage
2)
Let your pet kill the mobs and position yourself left to the lever, with your back facing the closed gates (you can help your pet if targets are in range, but don't bother moving)
3)
As soon as your pet finish the last mob,
activate the lever
. Meanwhile
put your pet on passive
(This is important! And it can be safely done while you activate the lever)
4)
As soon as the gates open
Disengage and use AotC
. When you reach the first mobs use Deterrence (to avoid removing AotC) and go straight for the Colossus
5)
When you are in range with it
pull the colossus using Tranq Shot
(Tranq Shot doesn't start auto attack which might kill the Colossus) and disengage again towards the Arena. Activate AotC again if it was removed by damage
6) Run! Run as fast as you can towards the center of the arena
to avoid the Sparkly Ball of Death. If your pet slacks behind you can use Master's Call to make it run faster. It's not a big deal if your pet dies, you can ress it back once you are in the arena
7)
Once you are out of the halls (make sure you are away from the gates, the Sparkly Ball of Death can kill you if you stop on the stairs. Go to the center)
use the "Move To" Command to put your pet on the center of the Arena
. Once the Sparkly Ball of Death ends its path you can go back inside
8)
You are still being chased by the Colossus.
Run to the first door, once you are there kill the Colossus and go inside. Kill all the mobs. It's important to make sure there are no mobs chasing you
(remember to check the minimap with your tracking skills) before going to the next step.
9)
Once you Kill the Runed Giant (You can try to finish the runed giant with multishot, that will give Beast Cleave to your pet which will help it against the mobs in arena)
put your pet on defensive mode
(don't call it back, just use defensive) so he will kill the mobs that spawned in the Arena.
Hug the right wall
(don't go in the round carvings on the floor, those are traps)
but stop before the area that separates the 2 traps
(you know, the step on the floor).
Let your pet kill the enemies while you position yourself with your back facing Thorim
(to help with the next disengage).
If you get too close to Thorim he will start Phase 2 even though he's invincible. If this happens you might either die from the Sparkly Ball of Death or if you manage to jump down in time you have to dismiss your pet and FD to reset the fight.
10)
Sometimes you might need to kill some mobs by yourself since they might run to you instead of being killed by your pet. No big deal though. You can safely kill them while standing in the position from step 8 once they reach you. At this point the roleplay will start.
Activate AotC and rotate the camera so you can see Thorim while still having your back towards him and move the mouse over him
.
11) Now you have to wait until Thorim can be attacked
(you will notice when the mouse cursor turns into a sword),
then Disengage and Run!
Run like your life depends on it (it actually does...for your toon at least!), if you aren't fast enough you will die from a Sparkly Ball of Death. While running you can attack Thorim, i'm not sure this is needed to start phase 2 but better safe than sorry! Just don't stop to attack,
right click on him while you keep moving and then jump down in the Arena.
12)
At this point you can just enjoy your simple fight, with current gear it shouldn't be hard (maybe heal your pet if needed)
This strategy is not failsafe, sadly human errors can (and will) happen, on top of that sometimes things won't go exactly as hoped.
1)
Sometimes the Colossus will disappear and the gates will close, or the gates will close while you are still inside after pulling the Colossus. This means you will die from the Sparkly Ball of Death, there's no escape from it (as far as i know), you can avoid repair bill by feigning and unequipping all items (you should have the time), i use Outfitter addon but i think the normal outfits interface will do
2)
Sometimes you will be stuck inside the halls (after the Sparkly Ball of Death) or in the arena itself. If you are stuck in the Halls either there will be no mobs or the mobs there won't be able to kill you, in this case you can HS out but i suggest getting
Ra'sha's Sacrificial Dagger
so you will be just outside the instance. I think it doesn't make your items suffer damage but to be sure use it naked.
If you are stuck in the arena there will be a lot of mobs, enough to kill you in a decent amount of time. Move to the center of the arena, dismiss your pet, FD and (once you are out of combat, sometimes is not instant) unequip all your items, then get up and let mobs kill you.
I hope i've been of help to someone :)

It is currently possible to solo this as a non-pet class without any particularly fancy tricks.
1. Kill all initial mobs quickly.
2. Open lever while Thorim's still got his knickers in a twist about you ruining his entertainment; he won't interrupt you if he's still talking.
3. Run down corridor, kill mobs as necessary.
4. Making sure that Sif is now there, get down and dirty with Thorim.
5. ?
6.
