I'm finally glad that they have given us Druids an achievement for Swift Flight Form. I mean after I farmed 5000g over 2 months with the Shattered Sun dailies... more quests. Then doing a dungeon that nobody bothered doing when I wanted this apart from my awesome guild and in real life friend. I'm also glad to be a fellow Druid ;)

NOTE: You will NOT get this achievement for buying the skill off your trainer.
The quests to get this achievement have now been REMOVED. This achievement is no longer possible.

Starting with 3.1, you no longer need to do the Swift Flight Form quest chain to get the Swift Flight Form ability. The quest line is still available, though, so this Achievement was added as a reward.

To start this cool chain, you will need Artisan Riding Skill. Then the quest chain starts here:

Mortis Whisperwing

You can get this quest from your Druid trainer in Darnassus, Thunder Bluff or Moonglade.

The quest chain is fairly long, and ends up in Settekh Halls, fighting a unique boss, Anzu. Anzu, incidentally, drops the very rare Reins of the Raven Lord, possibly the coolest mount in the game.

Be aware that unless you're Feral and well-geared, you'll most likely need help to down Anzu. Still, it should be easy to recruit 1-2 friends to help, with the promise of Anzu dropping his Über-cool mount.

So, this isn't like the pally/lock quests? They can train their epic mounts and then go do the quests to get the achievement, but druids can't train epic flying and then do the quests for this achievement? If so, that's lame.

If you complete the quest chain, regardless of level, and as long as you didn't buy the skill from the trainer, then you will get the achievement.

Is this retroactive? I mean - will characters who've completed the quest in the past also get this achievement?

Two questions: 1) Is it possible to learn Swift Flight Form from the trainer and then go back and do the questline? 2) Does doing so still award the achievement, or do you specifically have to learn the skill as the quest reward in order to unlock it?

I had been living through Warlocks boast for about a week about their Mount Achievement.... Then I got my SFF Achievement. I think it was the best thing Blizz could have done. Between "bear bombing honor hold" in BC, or using it in WG during Wrath, epic flight as a birdie is a must have for every druid.

Plus... if you're crazy, there is always ground-chicken games.... :D

I got this Feat of Strength AND paid for the flight form from the trainer. I did the quest up to the very last one where you kill Anzu. After I accepted the quest, via training up talent based spells from the trainer, I accidentally trained up epic flight form. I just remember thinking "Oh crap! There goes my feat of strength!" so it could have been any number of circumstances.

I digress....so I go nuke Anzu and turn it in. Got my feat of strength.

I was wondering about something, Im a 80 Druid and haven't started the quest line yet, but is 300 flying required to start the quest? i know that 300 flying is required for buying it from the druid trainer, but is it the same for the quest?

If you train the Swift Flight Form from a druid trainer, will you still get the item to summon Anzu in Sethekk Halls?

"Back in my day, we had to work to get our Swift Flight Form, work that meant a lot of travel, spending of gold, and running a dungeon that pretty much only benefited us druids, which was hard to get help for. We didn't have the luxury of getting it safe and sound from a trainer."

so can you still do this quest-chain to get swif flight form? or do u have to train for 280 flying then train for it from class trainer?

Does anyone know if its possible to still get these quests through the use of someone else sharing it? Other players might have the quests kept in their logs from before they were taken out of the game. Have no way to test this out though. Anyone ask around yet or find out?

As has already been mention to get some of the different forms for Druids required long quest chains and the indulgence of others in dungeoons and the more difficult quests

Rolling any character is a matter of choice and i knew what I'd have to go through to get the most out of my druid

all other classes have their own talents and different races have different perks. Thats how it was and the option to choose any was quite fair in that you could select anythingfrom what was available

What has completely pissed me off is that I rolled druid for the flight form, I earned that characters ability to fly or Swift Fly if you prefer
and yet every new expansion we have to earn our flight ability yet again and in the Latest Druid's flight form has been completely taken away
druid flight form is far easier to use and control than the dragon gliding
and then some condescending little **** has the temerity to relate that the devs chose to do this to druids make it more fair.
How much more fair could it be ...anyone is free to roll a druid

stop being so damn inconsiderate and then being smug about it ..give us back flight form
and whilst you are at it please bring back the other forms as separately as they were.
A travel form cheatah and the seal .. separate was far better than the present travel form stag.... and when that form was brought out where were all the cries of unfair when the stag carries passengers..like no other mount at the time
